Strength:
Excellent highs and mids, the best bookshelf I could find for the price
Weakness:
Haven't found any I had pretty much decided on the Klipsch RB-5's until my friend suggested I listen to the IL10's. I really wasn't expecting much, but when I heard them they absolutely blew me away. After listening to the IL10's, the Klipsch speakers sounded brassy and artificial (although they did have more bass). None of the other speakers seemed to be as crisp at the high end and still have the warm and natural tones toward the bottom. I can't say enough good things about these speakers. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Titan, Klipsch RB-5, several other models from Boston Accoutics, Polk, AR, etc |

Strength:
Incredible midrange.
Weakness:
It's tempting let these speakers do everything. I found it hard to believe that these speakers are near the bottom of the line for Infinity: the presence in the reproduction of classical music is hard to equal for this price (or at all for a reasonable amount more). While others might wish to supplement these speakers with a powered subwoofer, reading the directions included with speakers allowed me simply to move the speakers closer to the walls and achieve the bass I was listening for. Strength:
Crisp highs, relatively decent midrange, interesting styling
Weakness:
Too bright, Lacking good bass response First off allow me to say that while I do not own these speakers, I do sell them and have had an extensive period of time with which to become aquainted with them. I can't come down hard on Infinity, I used to own a set of Infinity towers I liked very much, so I know the stuff is quality. Having said this, let me get into the actual review. Infinity speakers have always had a crispness to them in the high frequencies. But the problem with this is that it is overly bright. Remember, Bose speakers are also crisp and bright, and look at they get. I do not mean to compare the two brands, Inifinity is a much finer product in my opinion. But what I do mean to say is this: bright speakers fatigue the listener over time. With my Infinity towers it got to the point where I had to turn the music off and take a break. At that time, I was not selling audio gear and didn't know what the cause was. Now I do. My next complaint is the lack of clear bass response. I'm sorry, but you shouldn't have to push your speaker back into an enclosed area or closer to the wall to try and pump bass from it, that's a deception to your ears. They have very decent midbass response, but below that they have very little. |

Strength:
excellent highs and mids, full natural sound
Weakness:
bass is a little weak (but it's a bookshelf) I had no intention of writing a review, but i read the review below mine and I just had to disagree. I don't find these speakers "bright" at all. Before purchasing these i auditioned several more expensive speakers and honestly found the IL10's to be as good, if not better than most of them. I have owned Infinity's in the past and admit that some of their models were overly bright at the high end. I have not found this to be the case with the IL10's, especially once they are broken in. With regard to the comments about the bass that these speakers put out, I don't think that anyone who buys bookshelf speakers is expecting heartpounding base. For their size and price range, I believe that these speakers are the best you will find. |

Strength:
Everything. Sound is clean and does not distort. Construction - Can Biwire - gold connectors
Weakness:
None really. Some may not like the styling. I originally bought the Infinity RS4 at Circuit City and thought they were pretty good. Then last month I traded them in (got the purchase price back) for the IL 10s. Wow. These bookshelfs kill my old RS4 towers. They have a clean, uncolored sound, which makes the music sound very natural. They have impressive bass for their size, and I could not get them to distort no matter how much I pushed them with my Onkyo receiver. I am very satisfied with these speakers. Similar Products Used: Infinity RS4 which I traded in for these and the IL10s blow them out of the water. |

Strength:
Great treble, midrange, tight bass
Weakness:
cant take these with me when i die possibly the greatest bookshelf speakers ever made (IMO atleast) here i am blasting music (hip hop) in my dorm room) and enjoying the nice acoustics of these speakers as the sound surrounds me. the bass is tight, deep, and strong, even the neighbors two floors up complain about it when i play my music. the high pitched treble doesnt hurt my ears at high volumes, thats a problem i had with the clarions, the high pitch screeches during female vocals. Similar Products Used: clarion, polk |

sound stage is awesome...I thought that my center channel was on when I was playing them in stereo mode....not broken in yet, but I can't wait. can be biwired. Also extremely detailed. I don't know if it was my center channel (IL 25c), but for the first time at almost any volume the lobby matrix scene was not harsh at all and in Blade the final fight seen I heard things in the movie I've never heard before....I actually heard bones crunching sound effects instead of hearing a muffled 'thwap'....I consider them a good buy. I had DCMs before and thought they were a good buy, but I guess you never know what you're missing until you experience it.
Weakness:
pretty big bookshelf speakers-around 1 ft. depth. male voices seem to be less prominent while high female vocals are very vibrant. lack a lot of bass, which isn't a surprise for the drivers it has good speakers. go buy them if you are on a budget, have a subwoofer, and have decided to move up the quality ladder. probably the best bookshelf at any of the circuit city, best buy type of stores. Once you listen to them and compare you will be amazed. Similar Products Used: none really, I did audition the slightly more expensive Polk RT55i but as soon as I switched from IL 10 to those, I had made my choice. The polks sounded muffled on voices, and I didn't see any benefit from them for the small amount of added bass they provided. I also still have the new DCM DCM 12A and the 6A bookshelfs, but they cannot even compare for highs and mids....good for rap, jazzy tunes and hard rock however, but not pop, flamenco, classical or anything with lots of highs. |

Strength:
size,price, sound and looks
Weakness:
none i'm using the i30's as my surround speakers, and do they kick. the new cones give the right amount of highs and the bass is unstoppable. these speakers could be used for a front pair with no problem.my front speakers are il 50's with the il36 as a center driven by a sony de-945 and the whole system rocks. |
