Weakness:
Price, if bought at retail price Strolling throught Circuit City one day I see these cool looking speakers on the shelf and notice the price of $225 each, ouch!!!! Down a few shelves was a very similar pair of speakers (in fact the same speakers, just open box) with a price tag of $99 each, Hmmm! I asked what was wrong with them, the guy said nothing, just returned yesterday. I hooked them up at CC in the sound room and they were impressive. I had been looking at an upgrade from what I currently have, base sony stuff from 96', and this was a good start, especially for the price. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Stellar sound from small speakers. Feels the room with exciting crisp sound.
Weakness:
None I am audiophile turned videophile turned computerphile who has happily returned to the where I started. These speakers sound amazing. I am using these as fronts in a small room. I had forgotten the joy of listening to music with two speakers. These speakers make all my music sound amazing. These speakers have amazing bass for such small speakers. The speakers are styled with platinum grills, which can be replaced with different colors (purchase from Infinity) to match your room or mood. I have not been this excited about speakers in years. Strength:
everytihng about this speaker is a strength. You wont get sound like this form any speaker of the similar size and even bigger.
Weakness:
none the speaker has an exquisite sound. Without a sub a room full of these infinity type speakers will give you a very realistic sound. compared to the other top end speaker we sell at circuit city the sound field could not be matched. We tested the eagles dvd with dts on the system with an hk avr7000. an exellent receiver by the way if you can afford the sticker price. When the eagles sang on most other speakers it sounded like a recording, Switching to the infinity series we could tell the room the eagles were singing in was there. a wide theatre not a small room. very realistic and just like being at the concert. Strength:
clean highs, tight bass I bought these to replace some lame sony speakers in my home theater.. to put it mildly.. they made an incredible difference.. I also bought the IL center channel speaker and a set of QPS1 rears.. money well spent.. I am going to upgrade to the newest Infinity sub in the next couple of months.. I can't wait... Strength:
great bass, but I was more interested in obtaining crisp highs, and these speakers deliver
Weakness:
None that I'm aware of--but then again, I'm a casual listener heading towards audio enthusiast I have a small AV room and was looking for great bookshelf speakers to use for front speakers. I was using three way Sony's which I picked up 3 years ago for $100.00/pair. I auditioned Infinity, Polk, and Bose. For me, the Infinity sounded best. So far, so good. Even my wife, who could care less, commented on the noticable increase in quality and clarity. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Crisp highs, tight bass for their size.
Weakness:
Can only buy them online at Crutchfield Have had these for about 2 weeks and love them. Using these for my front speakers in a home theater along with the IL22C and some in-wall speakers for m surrounds. I'm still waiting for my IL100S subwoofer to arrive. I'm a little annoyed that Infinity would release these and not yet be making the Sub (at least not in cherry finish....I think it's available in black now though). I'm told by Crutchfield that they have no idea when they will be getting them...arrrrgh! Anyway..these babies kick the ass of my previous bose system...even without the powered sub! Infinity needs to get more authorized on-line retailers in their program! |

Strength:
Clean, clear sound. Surprising bass. Bi-Wire terminals.
Weakness:
Iffy styling. "Modern" look, with front baffle that could be confused with cheaper plastic.... Chose the Infinity IL10 on the strength of their sound. These should almost be auditioned the old way, with your eyes closed. They were distinctly clearer in the high end when A/B compared to some larger Polk Audio models. The bass is not bad for a small cabinet, rated to 56hz., exiting through a rear port. The front baffle looks a bit, well, tacky, like something that a lesser manufacturer might do, not the Harmon International giant that Infinity is now a part of. The cabinet feels solid and fairly dense, the bi-wireable gold binding posts are of very good quality, and the sound is clear and defined. The grills come in some odd colors, for the designers out there, so I left those in the box. Impedance is 8ohms, so amplifier loading shouldn't pose a problem. Not cheap speakers, but when matched up with a good sub, the IL10 might really impress a critical listener. These, by the way, include Infinitys' new cone material, a sandwich of alumunum and ceramic, which they claim increases transient speed and reduces cone distorions. Whether all that marketing hype is what does the trick or not, they sound good. Give them a listen, bring some music with detail, like cymbols or strings, and compare to others in the same price range. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Atom, Polk RT-3 |
