When attempting to update my sound-system without spending tons of money, infinity speakers caught my eye. The RS-3s got great reviews here, and after much research I decided to purchase them.
Currently, I only have the RS-3s as front speakers, but they are great. With my DVD player (Toshiba SD-3109), which mimics surround sound from a 2-speaker set-up, my system sounds more realistic than many systems that actually have 5+1 speakers! (Of course those are cheaper systems, but I had a friend spend $400 on a Sony surround package, and my two speakers had far better sound for movies and music.) I picked these speakers up from www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com for $199/pair.
I'm sure that there are speakers with better sound, but you can't get better for the price. My philosophy has been to get good quality equipment of whatever I can afford, and then I can add to it gradually whenever more money comes my way. Perhaps in the future I will add RS-5s as front and move these to surround, but I'm in no rush.
I am very pleased with these speakers.

Other components of my system:
Toshiba SD-3109 DVD player
Onkyo TX-DS777 receiver
Two Infinity RS-3s
anxiously awaiting my Infinity CC-3

Strength:

Good bass

Weakness:

I like alot of Highs, and the RS3s don't give enough

I got the RS-3s in early january from Bestaudiovideo.com
for 199.00 free shipping. I replaced my 10 year old Advent
Baby IIs with the Infinity speakers. These speakers are nice ,I love the bass that these small speakers kick out.
The treble was lacking so I added External tweeters to them Now they sound great. I'm currently buying a new home theather system piece by piece, those on a tight budget know
what I'm taking about.Next is a sub-woofer, probably the
Infinity BU-120, still doing research. If your on tight budget these are the speakers to get. Love them..

I bought the RS3 at Netmarket (199$ both) based on the Audioreview ...reviews. I got them 2 days after the order and I am not been disapointed by Netmarket so far (except for their customer service that you can never get by phone).
Or you can choose Circuit City that proposed them at about 200$ one... They are great as main speakers. They are connected to a Marantz A/V R 580. Clean, sharp, good bass and perfect for my medium size living room.
Eventhough they are a little bit under performing at low volume, this is a great deal for the price.

I recently bought a pair of these for my dorm with intentions to buy a subwoofer in a month or two. After listening to them, I found that they produce more than enough bass for a small room. I guess I'll have to get a dvd player first and wait until I move into an apartment to get a sub. While I do not consider myself to be an audiophile, I am very impressed with the highs that these speakers can reach.
These retail for about 350$, and for any prospective buyer, I recommend not to pay more than 300$ for them. You can bargain at practically any store, that is half the reason why they have managers at these places. In fact, where I bought mine, the sales person fired up the computer and checked the listed lowest price for the company, so don't be afraid to haggle.

I think these are decent speakers for price/size, but bass can get a little boomy if not placed correctly. I am currently using them as my main stereo pair, with intentions to eventually use them as surrounds or upgrade them (many stores will allow you to do this) to floorstanding.

I encourage anybody to email me if they have any extra questions about these speakers. I have learned a lot of Audio Review and I am glad to add my knowledge to this site,

Garrick Solberg

Strength:

The second to none speaker.

Weakness:

Not at all.

This is absolutely one of the best book-shelf sounding speakers. This sound of this speakers are probably even better than Bose 301 Series IV. The looks of these speakers are great, too. To describe how good this speakers is seemed to be too much work to do. "Just buy it" is the only statement you just have to know.

Strength:

Great Low End for a bookshelf speaker, has that jewel of a Tweeter.

Weakness:

NONE

I purchased 2 pairs of these babies from crutchfield and I'm amazed how good they sound and that they play so loud, currently they one pair is sitting on top of my OV3's on my B's, eventually they will become my front effect probably on stands, the other pair to be determined whether they will be rear effects or my other CC-3 will have that duty.
My OV3's sound great so when I got these speakers I wasn't expecting alot however they sound really great and you can tell they work hard the port on the back is pumping air even at relatively low volumes, my rx is only 85 watts a channel so they do play well even with little power and their placement up high probably helps.
Overall I'm very very happy with these little gems and they would make great surrounds or mains in a smaller system, 4 of these paired to a cc-3 and a hps-250 would be an awesome setup.

I just bought a pair and love them. I compared them to Polk and to the Bose in the same price range and found they sounded the best...clear and crisp. The Polks had to much bass and the Boses sounded muffled...So I went with the RS3's and love them. A word of caution though. If you are planning on using these as true book shelf speakers....Make sure you have a strong bookcase backing. The open port on the back of the speakers...vibrates the whole darn shelf. I think they are better off sitting on the floor or on speaker stands.

Strength:

Highs and mids. Value.

Weakness:

Foggy bass at times. Need to constantly adjust depending on song.

Using these with a HK AVR40.
For $120/pair on Ubid.com refurbished, the best speakers I've heard for the price. I bought on reputation only, and they haven't disappointed me. Alot of bass for one 6.5" speaker in each, and is a little foggy at times with a rear port (I prefer sealed for tighter bass). Crisp highs and good mids make this a great speaker.

OK. I am not the biggest audiophile out there, but when you can buy a set of RS-3's for $156, you cannot go wrong! I got them on Mercata.com,
