Strength:

Good bang for buck

Weakness:

Needs seperate bass

Just bought these puppies on auciton at amazon. My first set of good speakers and couldn't be happier. Matches nicely with my CC-3, BU-120, and QPS-1 on my STR-DB 930 receiver for an awesome beginning home theater system. Couldn't be happier with the sounds.

Strength:

Sleek Styling, good highs and midrange.

Weakness:

Slightly low on bass, but O.K with subwoofer.

Great sounding speakers. I just love them. I decided
to go with these after hearing Polk RT600 which was had the
same price tags.

I liked the sleek design which comes with a hard plastic
grill (a metallic grill would have been desirable), rather
than cloth found in other speakers, it protects my speakers from my two year old.

I drive them with Kenwood VR309.

Strength:

Smooth, No fatigue, Clean lines and suprising sound given the size

Weakness:

None that I am aware of

After two months of lots of Cd's and DVD's, I am still very pleased with the purchase. I matched them with a CC2 for the center, and a pair of JBL L20t for the rear. I am still astounded at the volume, quality, and clarity of sound that these speakers can generate given the driver size. I have them placed 15" or so from the back wall...great bass, smoth, tight and suprisingly low. I listen to anything from classical to Ozzy....great little boxes.

Invite the freinds over for hide and seek...find the hidden JBL 250Ti's , because a box of this size could not possibly make this kind of sound.....

Strength:

Great bass, very clear sound, look great.

Weakness:

None

These speakers just plain sound great. I have them hooked up to a Yamaha HTR-5250. (100w/channel) They handle the power with ease and never disappoint. I also use a powered sub for increased bass, but even without the sub they sound great. Not sure if they make them anymore, but if you can find them second hand in good condition, go for it.

Strength:

Very clean sound, Price

I first started with a pair of Polk RT-2000s. These speakers were nice looking but, if you have an external sub. they are overkill. I found myself turning the speaker's subs all the way down. So I took them back and exchanged them for a pair of RS-5s, a pair of RS-4s and a cc-3 center channel speaker and still had money left over! I did a side by side comparison with the Polk RT-800 and the Infinitys won hands down. I have been a Polk fan for a while but I think the Infinity's mid to high range is far better (My sub takes care of the rest). I use these speakers mostly for home theater and I am very happy with them. RS-4s make a good surround too. They are hooked up to a Sony 555ES receiver and a Sony 7700 DVD player. If you do some comparing you will not find a better speaker even for twice the price. The only thing I can't figure out is why are they so cheap?
My opinion is, don't buy speakers with built-in subs. Instead buy some RS-5s and a good subwoofer and save $$$.

Liked these a lot until I compared them to the polk audio rt600's. The polks are much more true to the music than these speakers are. I would be happy with either set up but since they are about the same price recommend the rt600's.

Strength:

Crisp highs, good looks

Weakness:

Bass isn't so good

The Infinity RS-5 is a wonderful speaker. The highs are very crisp and sound excellent. The midrange is full. With the right positioning, you can get the bass to sound not bad (still not excellent). As long as you have a good subwoofer the bass should be no problem. These speakers are able to reproduce higher-pitched instruments extremely well. I turn on some music and I just don't want to leave the room sort of feeling. All in all, these speakers are an excellent value, considering I got them for about $400/pr on Ebay - new w/full 5 year warranty.

Strength:

absolutely perfect for HT.

Weakness:

Discontinued line

I love these, have wanted a pair since I bought my RS3's 2 years ago. Got them yesterday. The speakers I replaced were old Pioneer Towers that I got with my rack system I bought new 13 years ago. Those pioneers were nice, had 15" woofers and had beautiful bass response. But these RS5's with my subwoofer are far superior. These speakers are very nice and I don't like the new interlude series at all. Looks or sound. If these blow up I'll go with Energy next.

Strength:

Small Foot print, very clean, neutral sound

Weakness:

None as of yet

I have been using JBL L20T speakers and a Infinity Sub for several years. I have not been unable to find a speaker that I liked better that the old JBL's. I must insert a little gripe...JBL has really dropped their quality. I am very disappointed. My old 4311 monitors still outclass the majority of their new products.

I received the Infinitys as a gift. They have a very clear, flat, neutral sound. They really sparkle with my Infinity sub in a good movie. Godzilla, the movie, did an effective job of clearing my room of all children and cats. Still, the JBL L20T seems to have a much better mid and high end, and is, overall, a much smoother sounding speaker. It cannot re-produce the same volume levels as the RS 5, but the L20t has more character I think. The Infinitys are being powered by a Hafler XL-280 with a BBE signal processor in the loop. I have a very old Denon Pra-1100 pre amp (it will not die). I use Kimber Cable for all my cabeling.

In regards to the "lack of bass" complaints, I think the drivers provide very good bass considering what you are asking of a 6.5" driver. You want massive quanities of bass, chose another box or plan to augment with a sub. As far as volumes level complaints from others, holy hell, what do you people need for "adiquate" volume levels?? I can rattle my doors and shake pictures off the walls at the 12:00 position (and no, my amp bios is not set to high). The RS 5 gets louder and clearer. At this extreamly painful level, I am unable to detect smearing, or other evidence that the speaker is being over-driven. If you think the RS 5 speaker is weak, start looking at your power. My Hafler makes these speakers really come alive. They seem to be a very good value. We will see how things go with my CD collection.

Strength:

For a speaker that only cost you $200 I would have to say the RS-5 has the best damn mid-range I have heard in some time. If you are looking for a middle end speaker with awesome clarity and great sound this is the speaker for you

Weakness:

Due to the fact that the RS-5 is only driving duel 6.5" it is a little lacking in the bass area but if you add a good sub I think you'll be happy with the performance

Let me make this as easy as possible for you if your not looking to spend a fortune on front speakers this is a great buy. There not too big, they are esteticly pleasing and most important sound great for both music and movies. Give them a try and if you don't like them write me a e-mail and cuss me out for recommeding them
