Strength:

The adjustable mids and highs. Superior workmanship and classic design has held up over a decade. 102 decibel speaker output with 1 watt input. Measured at a distance of 1 yard. Not to many speakers are over 95 dB SPL 1W/1m These specs gave Infinity braging rights then and they hold today. the loudest home speakers you can buy.

Weakness:

Bigger is better except if your room is on the small side. weight between 75-95 lbs each. Depends on how many toys my 2 year old has put in thru the huge open port in the back, a kitten got in there once also. Can't use as a table either because everything vibrates off.

These speakers are LOUD and indestructable. With built in circuit breakers and a 102 decibel rating these monsters are awesome. Rated at 300 watts each. Hooked to a Carver TFM-4.0 that puts out 375 watts RMS The protection has saved mine more than once. I like the sound at listening levels too. Work great in TV listening. With these you won't need a seperate sub, you won't have room with all the real estate these take up. Just a great sounding speaker overall. I am 100% satisfied with the overall sound and the loudness of these after over 10 years.

Strength:

Excellent tight and well defined bass-- never overpowering. Great mid presence and very distinct highs... They look awesome with the grills off!!

Weakness:

They are heavy!! It takes a large room to create an accurate soundstage... The highs get abit on the bright side in the higher SPL range, but hey, even the baddest rock concert will leave your ears ringing for awhile!!

These speakers are the best pair I have heard to date. Tigher, more responsive bass than a Cerwin Vega. Far better midrange presence than JBL. And rock way harder than any tame little Bose! Funny, the first 2 companies are all tied into Harman Kardon somehow... The 15" woofer is extrememly potent in higher volumes, but never booms over the mid or high frequencies. Even playing bass heavy music such as Rap, the bass stays tight and well defined. The twin 4 1/2" mid drivers cut through the midbass with a nice sense of presence... The polycell tweeters can get abit bright at higher SPL, but this is easy enough to adjust with proper EQ. Speaking of EQ, you would be surprised by how good these sound even with a flat EQ setting! The front level controls are very usefull in creating just the right sound to suit your tastes. No matter what style of music I listen to or what movie I watch, these speakers never seem to sound dull. One note however to say is if you live in an apartment like I do, it can be VERY HARD to tame these beasts from causing a domestic disturbance. Even at a lower volume, that bass is still bumping! One thing to consider is space. It takes a large listening room for these speakers to create a nice soundstage. In a smaller room they are just a bit too overbearing. Another consideration is how heavy these bad boys are!! If you move often like I do, you better find a good chiropractor or find yourself a roadie cause at about 98 pounds a piece, you are in for some pain!

Strength:

Handle all music and volumes. Run an older JVC RX-903VBK

Weakness:

None, still rocking after 10 years, and I play loud and alot.

Bought new with intention of never buying another set. I would say my choice was good. Excellent sound, sound quality. Who needs a sub with these. If you can find them, they are an excellent choice for all music. I listen to rock, classical, swing, techno and have not been disappointed or bested. Neighbors count on me for The Stars And Stripes Forever on Fourth of July.

Strength:

Thank the lord for the circuit breaker, I have been able to get that to POP a couple of times. Talk about strength thank the lord for good wall hangers for pictures and things!!! I just have to watch things sitting on table's or stand alone things on the floor.

Weakness:

Plants dont always want to keep standing next to them (they fall over when loud and thumping are being simultaniously demonstraited). I am quickly finding out that the biggest weakness here is my spelling!

A friend of mine bought a pair on sale at the BX. I saw them and bought the only other pair they had. These have been one of the best purchase's I have ever made! They have been with me from South Carolina, Missouri, and a few moves in California(still have the boxes and stirofoam). I started using them with a Kenwood KR-9600 receiver (I will never get rid of that either), and was constantly asked to supply music for dorm BBQ's. One time I had a guy from down the hall ask me to turn them down because it was messing his TV reception (crappy TV+GREAT speakers=LOL). I have recently had a rock band move in next door to me so it's a lot of fun having stereo wars!! It's also nice being one of only two houses on the block so we can be as loud as we want too!

Strength:

clear, tight sound

Weakness:

Not good for high power amps.

These speakers sound good but they cant handle very much power.I have a Rotel 160watt power amp and a carver pre-amp and they are maxed at half volume.I had to by-pass the circuit breakers to get this volume.I already blown mids and tweats and now have a woofer popping.I dont think they can handle a true 300 watts. I may be pushing 225 watts. I was disapointed with the power handling.

Strength:

Sound presense and clarity

Weakness:

upsetting the neighbors

In my system they sound fantastic. For surrounds I have a pair of JBL4800's, a JBLG500 for the center channel and a JBL 12" powered subwoofer. I drive them with a Yamaha HTR5280 5.1 Digital Receiver. A Pioneer DVD and an Intel based PC using a Sound Blaster 5.1 sound card round out the system. I use 14 ga. stranded copper wire to connect the amp with the speakers and an optical cable to connect the DVD to the receiver. I've elevated the 152's about 8" using cinder blocks, the rear surrounds are elevated about 24" and the center channel speaker lies across the top of the TV. Needless to say I am divorced and no longer have someone saying "no!". In my system these sound very clear and add air pressure to the room. I can literally feel the lows. The midrange is precise and clean and the highs sound brilliant without a sense of strain. They match up well with the JBL speakers so I don't notice any rolloff between speakers listening to 5.1 DVD movies or music disks. The computer music is just for backround music so I never crank up the volume to see how the Infinity's sound with not as clear a signal as with the DVD player. The only other speakers that I would compare the efficiency and sound of the Infinity's with are Altec Model 19's, which I owned about 20 years ago. I also own a pair of Klipsch Heresey II's, and two pair of Altec Model 9's, all in other rooms but driven by the same equipment and by far of all the speakers the Infnity's produce the most sound. Interesting that I paid at least 2 as much for each of the other speakers that I own. I've listed my other equipment to illustrate that even with low to midrange equipment these speakers are awesome

Everything

Weakness:

None. Except when you move because there heavy

I bought these speakers new while I was in the Army in 1994-1995. What can I say...I have been rocking these things for almost 8 years and they have been nothing but good to me. I just purchased a new Denon 4802 receiver (my third receiver and still the same speakers) and these speakers sound better than ever. The sound is rich and clean and the 15" woofer still rocks the house. If you ever find a set of these, BUY THEM! Keep in mind these towers weigh in at about 75 pounds and are rock solid. 300 watt RMS…what more can you ask for?

Strength:

Can play loud, very loud. Very good bass response if driven with a high quality amp. Accuracy can be achieved from a 15! Bullet-proof!

Weakness:

Convince your wife they look good in the family room.

I feel in love with these as a young budding audio enthusic in high school, but could sadly never afford them. Many trade in''s later, I found them at a loca pawn shop. With the swap of some Cambers--VOILA! The ability to play absurdly loud and sound decent with a good amp. The only speakers that I have been able to appreciate at loud levels without that cheap boomy Cerwin Vega low-fi sound. Smooth bass, lots of punch, smooth and silky highs with the polycell idea. Not as tinny as Titanums and quite similar to the smooth sound of my old Paradigm 9SE''s. I love the finish, slopeing fronts, and plain old excessive 15''s. Accurate for a otherwise sloppy speaker design. I mean, 15''s playing jazz and sounding good? NICE

Strength:

Good accoustics at loud levels

Weakness:

Filter crackles when you turn the knobs, but since you only have to ajust the filter once it's not really a weakness

Indeed great party speakers, once i got complaints about my loud music from a neighbour 2 floors down :)
Spikes are real handy with these guys.
It really doesn't matter if you play pop music, rock, techno or even classical music: it all sounds perfect.
