YA CAN'T SCAM A STREET KID!

OK, 2 DIRTY LOOKIN' MUTTS IN A SILVER VAN PULL UP NEXT TO MY NEW BLACK CADILLAC DTS AND PROCEED TO GIVE ME A SALES SPIEL ON A MILLENIUM HOME THEATER SYSTEM LEFT OVER FROM A WORK ORDER THAT WILL BE A LOSS FOR THEM IF THEY RETURN IT BACK TO THEIR EMPLOYER! ONE GUY PRODUCES A MAGAZINE THAT SHOWS THE SPEAKER SYSTEM IS MSRP $2400.00 BUT THEY'LL LET IT GO FOR $1800. I WAS IN THE AREA TO PICK UP HDMI CABLE FOR THE PANASONIC 50" PLASMA THAT WAS BEING DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY. (MONSTER CABLE WANTED $80.00, I BOUGHT SIMILAR FOR $9.00...THAT'S ANOTHER SCAM) i ASKED THEM IF THEY HAD HDMI CABLE AS THEY WERE HOME THEATER INSTALLERS.....WHEN THEY LOOKED AS IF I WAS QUIZZING THEM ON QUANTUM PHYSICS....I STARTED TO LAUGH AND SAID "MAN, THIS IS A SCORE...I NEED THIS EQUIPMENT AS I BOUGHT A PLASMA HD YESTERDAY". I PULLED OUT $4000 AND PEELED OFF A GRAND AND TOLD ONE MUTT, "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT". I SAID I WOULD PAY HIM ONCE I MADE SURE THE BOXES WERE NOT FILLED WITH BRICKS. HE AGREED AND TOOK THE 2 LARGE BOXES OUT OF THE TRUCK AND PUT THEM DOWN BEHIND THE TRUNK OF MY CAR. I TOOTED THE HORN AND DROVE AWAY LAUGHING. ALMOST AN HOUR LATER I WAS VISITING MY AUNT IN WHITESTONE(QUEENS), NY. AS I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM MY AUNT'S HOME, I SEE THE 2 MUTTS ON A PORCH WITH THE BEAT UP SILVER VAN IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A HOUSE ON CLINTONVILLE STREET BETWEEN 20TH ROAD AND 21ST AVENUE......I LOWEERED THE PASSENGER WINDOW AND YELLED OUT, "SO THIS IS WHERE YOU THIEVIN' BASTIDS LIVE HUH?....I'M GOIN' STRAIGHT TO THE COPS! THE LOOK ON THEIR DIRTY FACES WAS WORTH THE GOOF..........

sorry everybody who fell for this scam, i used to work for the company and drive the vans. this is how it works: i worked out of the north jersey office. we load up the vans with systems, speakers, and recievers in the morning, and then depart at 9 when the banks open. this way if anyone needs to go to the bank to get money for us, they can. we tell people that we have an extra set on our load, we got it for free and we're gonna sell it. the speakers are worth only 200, the systems are worth 300. but i've seen one work before, and a couple days later the subwoofer sparked up and caught on fire. these systems are cheap, and the guys in the vans are very good at what they do, they will get you to pay more for these things then they are actually worth. my advice is don't buy anything out of a van in a parking lot. if it seems too good to be true, it is. if anyone wants to know where this place is located, i put the address at the top. i know where the other offices are in other states too, so if anyone would like to know get a hold of me. you can go there in the morning and confront the guys that scammed you. i quit the job, i won't be a part of such an illegal business anymore. the guys get paid in cash from what they make off the people in the streets. you guys are paying these guys' rent, car payments, and everything else for cheap audio equipment. someone has to do something about these people. i've already sent notice to the IRS.

Very Loud

same story as everyone else accpet that it was my housemate's brother that got suckered. however the speakers we got do have a very big advantage. they go REALLY loud with out being annoying!!! great for parting where everyone is kind'a drunk. if you want to put the speakers to use, buy a powerful used stereo amp,100w per channel and up (none of that sony 5.1 stuff). than let them rip. this way u don't care if you blow them! i got a 200 watt amp for 20 bucks and i can hear my speakers at the next block. great for college life. best mistake ever!!!!. however i still need some good sonding speakers.

They are low rise and very wide towers. 15 inches wide, which is the for 12+ inch woofer

Well… what can I say add me to the list of suckers….BUT…yes there is a BUT! guessing I was the first person they got that day, because as I was pulling away I noticed they went straight into Best Buy parking lot, luckily my office was 2 min away and the first thing I did is google the name and got this message board….. as soon as I read a few post I grabbed a few guys from work and went to Best Buy. As I was pulling up I see the van on a red light driving away, I pulled up to the 2 little punks in the car and asked them to pull over …… here is where it gets interesting. Obviously they didn’t pull over but quickly got on the highway…..thinking they lost me they got off only a few exits. To make the long story short . the guy who took my money is going to need a new row of front teeth and his little pal is probably still walking around picking up all the boxes they had in the van.

speakers with the paper work that says they are "innivative sounds systems"

can any body tell me the best place to get a replacement woofer ?

Iv'e got the same story as everyone else, two young guys ( a big guy and a skinny guy who looked just like Mark Wallberg ;-) approached me when i was washing crap off my windshield with some story that their boss "by misstake" put one to many systems on their van and they need to get rid of it quicly.
I called my homie and he wanted it so iv'e baught it for him, when I've got home and installed it, it did actually sound very good, better than my own bose 3.1 system that I've paid a crap-load of money for.
So all I can say is that the next time I see one of these vans I'm gonna buy myself a system, but sense reading all of your rewies, I'm gonna talk down the prices to a cuple of hundred dollar.

Not to mention the product is boxed and wrapped properly with instruction manuals and remotes as if you were to purchase it at a store.

After doing some research on the internet the storyline is almost verbatim of others on the Internet in different states. Now the question comes to mind, is this really a national scam or just deceptive marketing tactics??

Have no fear however...it is a legitimate piece of crap product that you can buy in bulk from China and put your own name on it! The same chinks also make DIIVX which some parts are found in Sanyo.

look familiar? It turns out it is DIVX brand which is actually used in Sanyo, etc...
Basically, its like buying a clone computer. Don't know price in bulk, but probably at the end of the day it costs the importer a $75 - $100 per unit and the rest goes to overhead and the thugs.
