Strength:

VERY NATURAL SOUNDING, HIGHS ARE VERY DETAILED WITHOUT THE HARSHNESS ASSOCIATED WITH OTHER HIGH-END SPEAKERS,MIDRANGE GIVES VOICES THAT SPECIAL GLOW OF REALISM OTHER SPEAKERS ONLY HOPE FOR.

Weakness:

NONE

I'VE OWNED THESE SPEAKERS FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. SINCE THEN I'VE LISTEN TO A NUMBER OF SPEAKERS (HALES TRANSCENDENCE,
MAGNEPANS,THIEL,PROAC,AUDIO PHYSICS,DYNA AUDIO AND OTHERS)TRYING TO DISCREDIT THE JAMO'S SOUND BASED ON OTHER SO CALLED EXPERTS OPINIONS. I HAVE YET TO FIND A SPEAKER TO HAVE THE NATURAL PRESENCE THE JAMO CONCERT 11'S PRESENT. I
TOO THOUGHT THAT THE BASS WAS LACKING AND HAVE COME TO REALIZE OTHER SPEAKERS TEND TO OVER EMPHASIZE BASS OUTPUT.
OTHER SPEAKER COMPANIES COMPROMISED MUSICAL ACCURACY FOR A PUBLIC OUTCRY FOR MORE BASS. YOU CAN GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT, BUT; THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT(BE CAREFUL WHAT
YOU WISH FOR, YOU MIGHT GET IT. WANT MORE BASS, GET A QUALITY SUBWOOFER AND LEARN TO SET IT UP CORRECTLY). THE OVER-ALL SOUND OF THE JAMO'S IS VERY NATURAL, SMOOTH, AND
ACCURATE.

Strength:

very clear highs and mids

Weakness:

not too much deep bass

I bought these speakers used (at a very good price) so there was no break-in period to deal with. I had been using some Paradigm Monitor 9s which, I think, have a more solid bass end than the Concert 11s. However, the Jamos have crystal clear highs and mids that distinguish them from the Monitor 9s. I configured my Rel Strata III sub woofer to compliment the Concert 11s and I am very happy with the arrangement. All in all, these are very fine speakers. I would give them four stars (with five stars reserved for the Thiel CS-2.3, Vienna Acoustics Beethovens, and several other highly acclaimed speakers that I could not afford), however, because there were a couple of reviewers that unfairly skewed the average, I will skew it back a little and give the Concert 11s five stars.

My basic system:

Outlaw Model 750 five channel amp
Sony TA-E9000ES preamplifier
Jamo Concert 11 fronts
Jamo Concert Center
Acoustic Research AR-308 rears
Rel Strata III subwoofer

Excellent speakers. My system includes a Pioneer Elite PD-65 CD player, Elite C-67 Preamp, two Marantz 700 monoblocks and monster cable. At first the Jamos sounded very harsh. These speakers really need a long break-in period. After a day or two the sound softened showing the incredible detail this speakers are capable of. The Jamos are way ahead of my previous Bose 701 speakers. Highly recommended

It seems that Mr. El Kady is not judging this speakers but previous Jamo he knows about. This is a big mistake. The Jamo Concert 11 deserves a careful audition. These speakers are incredibly good sounding and good looking. Listen to them and judge them by their self.

I recently borrowed a pair of Jamo Concert 11s for a serious weekend listen, and I find I cannot agree with Girish from Dubai's glowing review of the behemoth Jamos. At first when I hooked up the Jamo's to my system (Krell MDA300 Mono blocks and KSP7B pre amp, California Audio Labs front end, Monster M1000/1 cables) I felt as though only half of the bass drivers were working, or at least that it was wired out of phase. I rang my dealer who loaned me the speakers, and after inspecting them he pronounced them okay. He then suggested that the Krell poweramps may be a bit too quick, thus lessening the bass. After I squeezed the excess moisture out of my pockets, I went back and listened again. The bass is shocking, although the high frequencies shimmer and sparkle, for this sort of money I expect to feel the bass too. I could not justify the outlay too only end up with a very pretty speaker, with no balls. A bit like Marie Presley felt about Michael Jackson I suppose.

Strength:

Beatutiful cherry wood cabinet and great sound to match

Weakness:

extremely low frequencies

Paid too much. You can find this great speaker for under 2K at the Great Indoors Stores. Having said that, I found speaker nirvana with the Jamo Concert 11. The natural deep color of the cherry wood, cabinet shape, even three binding posts with the ability to tailor the high frequencies at 2DB levels, something no other speaker does.
The most natural, warm and musical speaker i have heard. THe silk dome tweeter redefines a new level of musical quality. While not reproducing the lowest frequencies it nevertheless presents a deep and natual soundstage with amzaing clarity and detail, without producing long term listener fatigue. Natural "glow of realism: indeed!

Give it the best electronics and know you have the best box speaker you can buy for under 2K.

These beautiful looking speakers are quite detailed in the mids and highs, although they seemed a little bright to me. The mids were engaging, and the bass was tight. I found, however, that the bass occassionally sounded boomy with certain frequencies (i.e. inconsistent tonal response). The soundstage was expansive, but didn't appear "magical" in any way. Their performance is comparable to other speakers in the $2K to $3K mark. I wouldn't buy them myself, but they're certainly worth a listen if this is your price point.

The Jamo concert series has been highly reviewed from top to bottom, and the Concert 11s are no exception. The sound of other Jamo speakers is really irrelevant to the sound of these audiophile quality speakers. While the bookshelf 8s are a better bargain, either set provides a great soundstage, smooth but not dark sound, and gorgeous furniture-quality looks. 5 stars,
