Having auditioned comparably priced KEF, Celestions, et al, I was initially disappointed as to their lack of low end punch of otherwise excellent sounding speakers. Once I listened to the Concert 11s, though, I discovered a natural sound and build quality truly worthy of the price (paid less than $2700 mail order). The 11s excell in every musical "genre" I've thrown at them -from Jeff Lorber to Jonny Lang; Diana Krall to Andrea Bocelli; the Dead to Pat Metheny. Vocals are truly amazing. The 11s are not afraid to extend deep and accurately through the lower octaves. Very impressive detail and resolution in the mid and high end. The 11s are bright and quick and a pleasure to listen to. They sound this good and my CD source component is, get this, a Sony DVP S300 CD/DVD driven through a Nakamichi AV 10's D/A and preamp.Output is through a B & K ST 3030 II amp. Yes, my audiophile grade sound is actually coming from a home theatre set up. I can't wait until these speakers get a "proper" CD player. And Incidentally, the Concert 11s hold up quite well under the stresses of twisters, volcanos and explosions of my DVD collection.

I just acquired these speakers a couple of days ago and I am still in the process of break in. I have and reviewed the CONCERT 8s and all I need to state is that they sound identical with the added bonus of excellent deep bass so there is no need for a sub when listening to 2 channel music.

Strength:

Very detailed and smooth sound, top notch build quality

Weakness:

Can be unforgiving to bad recordings

I have used these speakers for 6 months now, and I am really satisfied with what I get from these speakers. The sound is absolutely breathtaking, detailed and smooth at the same time. It really lets you hear what is on the recording. If you play records with poor quality you will really hear it. The build quality is top notch. I believe that these speakers really need top quality source and amp, which almost forces you to upgrade the rest of your system.

Weakness:

none

After many great years(3) with this speaker it always surprises me with its high end quality sound at such an affordible price. Congratulations to Jamo!

I recently bought Carver amp(c-1.5 which delivers 600watts rms into 8 ohms) and pre-amp(sonic holography), and although they are very old, about 20 years, the Jamos played better than my previous HT amp, yamaha A-1. more deep bass were heard which I never thought could be produced, thats why i bought a dedicated sub(velodyne c-150)...but now after more power was fed into the Jamos they sparkle and delivered with authority..i now leave the sub off..only for HT use..
So if you can get more power into these babies, don't think twice! DO it! Yu will not regret it.

Weakness:

Not a disco speaker that will make your couch jump

I wasn´t at all impressed at first. The sound lacked bass. But after a long break-in period (aprox. 100 hours)... what a difference! Incredible imaging and depth. The bass is balanced, but not as heavy like many "disco" speakers. This is the best speakers I've heard up to $5000. If you like acoustical recordings you'll love Jamo Concert 11.

I use Denon 5800/AVC-A1 amplifier, with Pioneer 737 DVD/CD-player.

Weakness:

Best with acoustical music

MF M3 Super Integrated Amplifier
MF A3 CD
MF A3 Tuner
Nordost Red Dawn Interconnects
Nordost Red Dawn II Speaker Wires

I've had the Concert 11's for a couple of months now and continue to be impressed by their ability to deliver incredible detail while also providing a very musical sound.

With certain well constructed CD's, the Jamo's really deliver. Close your eyes, and the instruments and vocals are right there in the room with you.

Compared to the A3's, I personally prefer the Concert 11. Although both are excellent, I found the Jamo's to have a more balanced and natural sound.

Compared to the Martin Logan's, I preferred the Martin Logan's for highs and midrange, but was disappointed with the bass response and preferred the Jamo's more balanced delivery.

Can easily understand how some people may find the Jamo to be lacking in bass. I guess it depends on what kind of music you prefer, and what you're comparing it to.

For my money, the Jamo's are a very good speaker indeed. Value rating - 5 stars. Overall I guess there are better and perhaps more versatile speakers, so I'll reserve 5 stars for only the best.

Strength:

very beautiful, high end mids and highs and at times poweful bass

Weakness:

needs a high powered amp that is good quality

It was very stupid, but I bought these speakers without an audition, considered it was new at the time. But i did not regret it when I took it home and opened them. MY my were they were beautiful! It didn't take a long time to break through, and i soon enjoyed the soon.
Being driven by my Yamaha A-3090, it sounded good, and you can notice its high end sound quickly. You are immersed in its sound field and take part of the music. I always have to sing with the music when they are on... thats how much it involves you.
However i realised that to be playad at its full potential you would need a bigger room(mines 4by7) and a more beefy amp.But still plays well with a moderate one.
In conclusion I reckon i bought the right speakers.

Weakness:

Won't shake stuffing out of your couch

As an owner of Concert 11's for over two years, I feel the need to respond to the excessively negative comments posted by some non-owners, who clearly didn't understand (or care) what JAMO was trying to accomplish with these speakers. First and foremost, these are NOT home theater, bass heavy, room shaking speakers. JAMO stated in the literature for the Concert 8 & 11 that the goal in the design of these speakers was for them to reproduce acoustical (i.e. non-electronic) music as accurately as possible, given the size constraints necessary to make them acceptable to more than just audiophiles. (They produced a matching center channel and surround speakers due to marketing considerations, so people looking for musical speakers would also be able to use them for movies, not because they were seeking to design yet another home theater system. For that purpose, they had already produced two complete THX systems as well as the unique Cinemaster full digital theater system. And note that JAMO does NOT make a Concert series subwoofer.)
Acoustical music does not produce anywhere near the kind of energy in the ultra low bass region (with the exception of a few French romantic organ pieces) that electronic music and movie sound effects do. And subwoofers make a real mess of acoustical music unless matched perfectly to the main speakers, which is rarely achieved in real world applications.
But acoustical music does call for a uniform and extended response in the low bass to balance the timbre of instruments with wide spectral ranges (timpani, bass viols, contrabassoon, tuba, etc). Other than VERY big speakers that cost a LOT more money, I haven't heard a speaker that can reproduce both the bass content of live music and electronic bass effects well.
The Concert 11's ability to throw a huge three-dimensional sound space for big orchestral pieces, or shrink it down to the intimate confines of a jazz club, combined with extended, accurate bass, detailed treble and a natural, open midrange, put them in a class of their own in this price range.
