Strength:
Cheap! Decent sound, good for an extension, surround, or a multi-use speaker, highly efficient, speaker materials, high power handling
Weakness:
Bass is a bit weak, sometimes hard to match with bigger speakers Well, I saw these on sale at Best Buy and decided to give the little guys a listen. I was quite surprised. The KLH bookshelves have plenty of bang for their buck. While they aren't the best in the low end department, they have very clear mids and highs, although some don't favor their flat sound quality which can sound very harsh in certain situations. I bought the speaker with various uses in mind (extension, rear surround, recording monitor, take to school, etc.) and think that it works well under all conditions. Best of all, it's cheap - so if you screw it up you won't feel so bad. Right now, they're mounted on the rear of my bedroom wall in an experiment. Even though I'm using a stereo-only amp, they add some nice ambience and depth to the overall sound in the room, and electronic ambient music (such as Orbital) sounds very cool. I'm quite happy with my purchase - they should have cost a bit more! Similar Products Used: Cerwin Vega, Sony bookshelves |
