Strength:
Great bass, great highs and mids... great sound!
Weakness:
Cabinet could be thicker -- that's all! These speakers offer quite a bang for your buck! I've read the rest of the reviews here, and I don't know what to tell those of you who complain about them... I originally purchased them as surround speakers for my home theater, and fed them 100 watts apiece. The bass is booming and solid from the rear, and the tweeter and super tweeter offer high sounds on some albums that I've never been able to hear before! I also had them installed at the L & R channel speakers for awhile, just to break them in, and cannot say even one negative word about the speakers performance. A thicker cabinet would be nice... but at $150 for the pair open box as Best Buy, who can complain? Similar Products Used: Kenwood, Cerwin Vega, Pioneer, Infinity, Sony |

Strength:
Long-lasting quality of sound and appearance.
Weakness:
Not promoted enough Now I know that this is supposed to be for the KLH-9915, but instead it's for one of KLH's first speaker line, their "Model Seventeen" when they were still making their Acoustic Suspension Loudspeaker System line. (sealed enclosures) Now these things have to be more than (seriously) 20 years old. My dad got them when he was in college, and they still play just as great as they did when they were brand new. (or says my dad). They consist of one 10 inch driver, and a tweeter. They still pound the bass, and hit they highs like they're supposed to. This should tell you something about KLH. I have never heard a KLH speaker that didn't impress me. I've heard many of their models, and just about every one of them can compare with higher priced brands. And they aren't expensive!! That's the awesome part. Very nice for the people on a budget. Excellent company, KLH is. Similar Products Used: Yamaha (also very good speakers!) |

Strength:
Good base, supertweeter is good (until the volume is cranked way up), very cheap price
Weakness:
small gauge wire in the box, after about three hours of high volume, the tweeter and supertweeter crackle some For 260 dollars -- dang! the 15 inch woofer cranks out the bass. i''m a dj and i''ve had the privlage of using klipsh, bose, jensen, jbl, sound design, and cerwin vega. these speakers were comparable to all of them. i didn''t say better, though. i said comparable. They pump out great base and fair highs on my Technics SA-DX940 at home and on the peavey 1200 watt amp i use for djing (although there is no way these speakers could stand anywhere near 1200 watts. 150 watts do them good). Strength:
loud. good bass. size; big size looks like money, money = girls, girls = happy DJ
Weakness:
in home theatre seetings, high''s tend to be fuzzy Well I hope that what i''m about to say doesn''t portray KLH as an inconsistant company, but what other people have said about 9915''s not playing at high levels must be coming from the deaf, and those that compare then with higher priced speakers are not thinking, KLH makes cheap things, it''s not the best quality or have the newest inovations, but it''s CHEAP! everyone knows that! I DJ and have in the past have had dozens of loudspeakers, all shot to $hit by hip-hop, techno and other pop raves... i bought these because i''m cheap, and i''ve heard from others that the bass bumps. These are great speakers, they arn''t the best, but for their price bracket the 9915''s are excellent. Similar Products Used: too many |

Strength:
Very good sound quality.
Weakness:
None, as of yet. I have a pair of these in my dorm. As does my roommate. Powered by a Pioneer VSX-D608 receiver. Sounds excellent. Bass hits hard enough to get daily complaints and write ups. =) Similar Products Used: N/A. |

Strength:
Very big, very loud, lots of bass!
Weakness:
They don't fit in my car These are great speakers for my current lifestyle. I am a college student and often have friends over for parties. For the parties, we need some LOUD music. These speakers do the trick. It is amazing to me that you don't need so much power to make these speakers sound good...my Harman Kardon receiver has only 50W per channel, yet these speakers actually sounded more powerful than when they were connected to a Sony 100W/channel receiver. All in all, great party speakers at the highest value for the dollar. Best for loud volumes on stereo sound. For quieter music, try Sony speakers. Otherwise KLH is perfect! Strength:
Good full range realistic sound.
Weakness:
A bit weak on the overall appearance and design. Sort of plain and boxy looking. Not magnetically shielded. I tried! I really tried to like more expensive speakers better than these. I've read all the negative reviews in this column about how KLH is supposedly "cheap" or "inferior". I also worried that the positive reviews were just planted by KLH employees or enthusiasts, but no matter how long I stood there and listened, no other speakers I heard sounded better. I directly compared them to Sony and Yamaha models at three times the price at Best buy and there was simply no comparison, especially in the bass. Even compared to JBL, Cervin Vega, and Polk Audio I would have had to spend four to five times as much money to get anything I liked as much. Not even Bose at many times the price appealed more. Now, I know that many people are going to read this and just think that Im just another KLH enthusiast trying to bolster their sales, but it just isnt true. Maybe the speakers are made of particle board, maybe the cones feel like paper (they dont to me anyway), but what do I care about what the speakers are made of. All that matters is what the speakers sound like, and these sound good!! |
