My first pair of real speakers ( i am still 15 mind you ) was a pair of KLH little 3 way 6 inch desktop speakers. They were good but i want more bass and clarity, so i was going to get some sony towers with dual 8 inch woofers. I went to best buy and listened to those and thought, oh crap, maybe this isn't a good idea. Than i went over to the KLH rack and turned these speakers on and amazed in the sound the 15 inch woofers could put out, and at only 100 bucks each. These probably aren't the best speakers but for the price and the kind of music i like (rap, metal) they are PERFECT!!! |

Strength:
power rating, very low price
Weakness:
imaging, lacks tightness and punchiness of bass and midbass I purchased a pair of these speakers from sam's club two years ago because of the super low price (79 dollars each), but after listening it to it for two years, I am rather getting tired of the sound quality of these speakers. Firstly, these things are gigantic, and for their soundquality, they do not deserve to take up so much space in anyone's room. Secondly, the midbass and the 15 inch woofer did not perform up to par. On the packaging box, it was noted that the frequency response of the speaker was 20-20,000Khz. I seriously doubt that performance spec claim. I don't want to totally depreciate this product though. It is totally incredible how KLH managed to build a moderately descent, but not for audiophiles, 4-way speaker for the price. I haven't done any tweakings of the speaker yet, but I'm guessing soundquality will improve with better internal sound dampening material. Similar Products Used: cerwin vega, JBL |

Strength:
Good Bass response, Low Price, rattle's pictures off walls(if u can call that a strength)
Weakness:
Bass and midrange distort alittle if u really turn them up, besides that none These are my 2nd set of real speakers that i have ever had and i must say they sound great. I got the 10" acoustic's when i was 14(great speakers and great bass reponse for 10's) but i just wanted more bass cuz most the music i listen to is rap. These drew my eye right away with the low price and the good sound quality. these fit my needs perfect. Mind u i am only 15. i have a 80 watt a channel amp that pushes them great rattle everything in the house. Great buy for $120 apiece. I would recamend them to any one who wants big bass at a low price. Similar Products Used: design acoustic's 10" |

everything
Weakness:
none I have tesed too many brands too list and can not tell you exactly how good these sound, I hooked them up to my technics SA-DX940 in the B speaker output and a KLH HT-91 home theater system in the A speakers output, and they sound extremely good and even better with surrounds and a powered sub, not to say you need one, I kind of over did it. A powered sub would probably be a litte better at low volume of if your reciever don't go down to 20Hz, But with or without a sub buying these speakers at this low of a price would be a very smart move, when I tested these speakers out with my decibal meater they were over 125db. In other words these babies rock and I would highly reccomend them to anyone with any reciever who is low on cash, or anyone who just wants extremely good sound. |

none This is an update from my last review. I just wanted to say that these speakers are extremely good and I highly reccomend them. I think that they should get more than a 5 out of 5 rating, I think that they should get a 10. I highly reccomend these Similar Products Used: JBL, Cerwin Vega, Pioneer, Yamah |

Strength:
They are BIG --> HUGE, if that could be called a strength for someone...
Weakness:
they Are HUGE, not magnetically shielded, wire clips (not posts), cheap very thin particle board cabinets, no regard to timbre when built (looks like they slapped some drivers into a 30sec box and called it a speaker). Sound is aweful (bass is unreasonably non-existant). KLH makes the CHEAPEST (not only in value, but also in quality) speakers that I have ever seen. I orginally bought one of their home theater kits to fill out the rest of my system... horible paper coned pieces of garbage. Then, I wanted to get some newer floorstandings, so I went for these. BIG mistake. I listened to them for 30 seconds, and put them back in the box. They are aweful, cheaply built, and no regard to timbre/tone/cabinet volume-speaker ratios. Nothing good about them. loud bass, low bass, cheap price, huge speakers.
Weakness:
absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought these speakers at $119 a piece. I went to buy these at best buy, and I checked out the 15" Cerwin Vega's and they didn't sound half as good as these, and they cost $450 a piece. I think that these speakers are the best for the price. If anybody tells you different, they are idiots and need their ass kicked. Similar Products Used: klh 9912's |

Strength:
Good Punchiness from woofer, midrange is clear, and upper range is good. LOUD! 10 year warranty from KLH
Weakness:
Can't tell that the super high is really there, but you kinda can. None else so far. These so far are my favorite, and first real pair of speakers. I like them because they're stong (powerful), mostly clear, until really loud, then all the sounds dont blend as well as they should when softer. NIce!, Very nice, not to mention impressive speakers. Sure, maybe theyre not top of the line, but they're pretty damn close. When bass is up, floor vibrates which is nice. A definite keeper. Sweet deal for the price and power. Reproduces full audio range, excellent price, look good
Weakness:
Would prefer a non-ported acoustic suspension design I bought these speakers at Best Buy for $109 each plus tax. I use 2 channels in my home theater system, and these speakers give the sound a three dimensional quality. With bass like these speakers produce, I don't need a subwoofer. Dolby Digital sounds great on them. I still have a pair of Infinity Qb, but with a lower frequency limit of 45 Hz, they don't quite measure up to the KLH. Similar Products Used: Infinity Qb |

VERY Samll Magnet, Some Bass Tones Sound Messed Up!, Woofer Cone Feels Like Paper! As a replacement for a 15 inch speaker I had already blew that month, I bought ONE model 9915 KLH Loudspeaker. While test-listening to one in Best Buy, I decided to buy it, they sound quality was great. After about a month or so of playing (mostly rap music with LOTS of bass)I began to notice that the bass tones in CERTAIN songs sounded different from my other speakers. This was no big deal to me and I paid it no mind. Then one day I was playing my favorite song (Back That Azz Up) and all of a sudden...Poof!. The speaker was obviously blown and there was a lot of smoke coming from the two holes in the plywood box. Shortly after, I called KLH and talked to a CSR (Customer Service Rep). After telling him what happened, he told me to remove the woofer and send a copy of the recipt and the obviously cheap woofer in and they would send me another one. The woofer has not gotten here yet. I would not reccomend these to anyone. Similar Products Used: JBL, Jensen, Pyramid |
