I bought these speakers at BJ's Wholesale about two weeks ago. Thay replaced an old set EV4's I bought about 25 years ago. Let me tell you, for the $200.00 I spent for the pare ($400.00 MSRP) you can't go wrong. These are a 4 speaker 3-Way design that sound great. I've got them pared up with a couple or Infnity 2000.3 Reference two ways, all attached to an Onkyo TX-8410 100X2 watt tuner. Thay sound as good if not better then speakers I've heard for twice or even three times the price. |

These speakers are an excellent buy. The quality is very good and the price is unbelievable (I paid $200 for the pair at BJ's Whoelsale). The sound is clean and powerful. The high-end is perhaps a bit on the shrill side (I think I'm being nit-picky, although "Audiophiles" would call me an unwashed savage ;-p ). Overall I can not say enough positive things about this purchase. The sound on everything from Beethoven to John Coltrane to Metallica is perfect. (The string quartet was in the room with me (actually, the quartet might ahve been INSIDE of me - truly impressive)). I got these for LOUD accompaniment of my drum practice, and belive me, these puppies are loud through a Technics 200watt receiver (SA-EX110). An easy five stars for being a perfect fit for my wallet and my ear! |

Strength:
Good for the low Price
Weakness:
Lack good bass response Bought these speakers to replace my worn out vegas. I was low on cash so decided on these. They sounded fair but not near what I wanted. So I replaced the active 12" with Dayton series 2 12's and added some weight to the passive 12. Replaced the mids with Dynaudio soft dome mids and put 1 1/2 Vifa highs. They speakers have a cheesy crossover so replaced them as well. $350 in speakers and parts added to the $200 I initially paid for the speakers and now they sound excellent! Hard hitting lows and clear mid and highs. Similar Products Used: Cerwin Vega |

These speakers are good for the $190 I spent for them over a year ago. They have two 12" woofers, one is passive (not actually powered). The passive woofer emits the very low frequencies, but since it's not powered, they really low frequencies aren't loud at all. KLH rates them as handling the full audio spectrum (20hz-20Khz), but I wouldn't go so far as to say they put out anything under 40hz. They can handle the power well and have pretty good sound for a big pair of speakers under $200. The cabinet is cheaply made and the 2mm thick fake black wood-grain coating chips off easily. Hook-ups aren't banana plug, no big deal. They are taller than heck, more than 3 and a half feet high. Overall a good speaker for $190, but not worth any more than $200. I would suggest these to someone not wanting to dish out the cash for a pair of smaller speakers coupled with a sub that would sound quite a bit better. For what they're meant for, a good speaker. |

Strength:
great price, clear good highs lows good mids
Weakness:
alot of distortion at high levels, size these speakers are great. very clear and good bass. yet when i only had these two producing bass they had a flat sound. now that i hav 2 jbl subs and i high end sony reciever. they sound much better. the down side is that i already sent them back once. at high levels they are very distorted and if play a normal level for a long time the 12" woofers freeze and become rock solid. even with this downside they are great for the price because at my age u cant get alot of money.
