Picked up a set at a local thrift store for $10. The cabinets were in bad shape but I managed to sand out all the gouges. I am using them for my mains in my HT setup with a Klipsch 8" sub. I had a set of Wharfdale 8.2 and like the KG1.5 better.....the highs are more crisp. I have a small tube setup in my bedroom and want to try these in that setup...currently have Mission 761i and homemade 8"sub. I agree with the others here and would recommend you get a set. Alone they have decent bass and would be great for a small bedroom or office setup and I would add, great for a computer setup. |

Strength:
Cheap to buy used. Well made, strong, no horn tweeter. Fit on bookshelves (really they do). Can be had in a variety of finishes sound great while doing it.
Weakness:
Not made any more. I hook up people with small, inexpensive Home Theatres. Klipsh KG-1s and KG-1.5s are my speaker of choice for mains and/or rears. They can be had cheap, are almost indestructable, have amazing bass and clarity for their size and are bookshelf speakers that ACTUALLY FIT ON BOOKSHELVES!!!! I love em, buy em when I can cause I know sooner or later I'm gonna need em. You can't go wrong. Similar Products Used: Klipsch KG-1, SB-3. Epicure 14's and M-90's, ADS speakers etc... |

Strength:
Big sound from small package.
Weakness:
Dome tweeter I baby-sat a pair of Klipsch Heresy a few years back and loved them. I know that Klipsch appeals to a certain faction of the market, so I must be in that faction. Space was a consideration, so I went with a semi-known quantity based on my prior experience. While I know that you cannot really compare bookshelf speakers with floor standing speakers, it was not a stretch to take a chance on the KG 1.5. I am very pleased with their performance, especially considering the size of the speaker. It is hard to go wrong with them if you want performance on a limited budget. good clarity
Weakness:
none Although I have virtually replaced most of my stereo components since 1996 I still have my klipsch kg 1.5's and use them periodically. Reason being is that I have purchased much larger tower speakers from Paradigm about 5 months ago(sometimes i wish i purchased larger klipsch).I must say that these speakers really sound good for the price I paid at the time--I bought 2 pairs of them and used them full time till 5 months ago as stated above.Running both pairs really produced excellent sound rivaling many speakers and these were the low end klipsch ! They have been very faithful to me for almost 5 years. They produce great bass and midrange considering their size and I have been happy with my purchase.I highly recommend them to all and if you decide to purchase the more current model of these I would highly recommend running two pairs instead of one pair--I sometimes hook these back up to my stereo simply for the fact of their great sound. It makes me wonder how the new RB-3 sounds being the same size drivers but better grade components and crossover network.HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! They get top ratings in my book ! Similar Products Used: jbl bookshelf |

Strength:
Small, real world book shelf speakers. Solid, well made and very, very accurate.
Weakness:
Not a lot of low end but what do you want from a speaker this small? Marvelous little speakers, paid too much for em on ebay but am definately glad I did. Gave them to a girlfriend to complete her birthday system, wow do they sing. They're compact, brilliant and get surprising bass for their size. If you can get a set online for cheap you couldn't do better for a small office system or bedroom speakers or even rear/surrounds. A superior product. Well, now that the large expensive Paradigms I bought are finally sold--I went back to using my two pairs of 1.5's and love them.I decided to upgrade them by replacing the caps, resistors and internal speaker wire all with much better grade material(AXON PRODUCTS) and now these liitle guys truly jam.Even better bass/base,midrange and highs.Just unbelievable for a total of 65 dollars.I absolutely will not be getting any more new speakers for a long time or until these 1.5's finally die, however, they are going strong after almost 6 years now and believe me when I say that I have really cranked these speakers up many many times !I never did this with the Paradigms afraid of damaging them. Klipsch has always made great speakers and even their low end models such as these can really handle the power due to the large magnets on the drivers.I'm not even considering the rb3's any more.If I did then I would probably tweak those as well ! I still would recommend these to anyone on a tight budget for used speakers.I see them quite frequently on E-Bay selling for next to nothing. They really are hidden jems and open up even more when you use good speaker wire, better interconnects, and more wattage--they can handle it compared to similar brands that would buckle under ! I'm telling you....get them if you can find them if you cant afford new speakers...you wont go wrong with the purchase..even in stock form with out the modifcations I did to them ! |

wanna improve the sound of your kg 1.5's--open them up and replace the internal wiring with 14 guage monster cable---makes a BIG difference after the wires get burned in.So now, your speakers sound even better ! I did this and noticed a vast improvement in bass and treble....give it a shot ! |

Strength:
great sound from a small package
Weakness:
none at all......no Klipsch has these I am using these speakers as my rear surrounds in my 7.1 home theater speaker. They are a great little pair of speakers that get the job done easily. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good surround speaker, or for someone who is going to be using them with a sub for music. They don't do great in the low-end part, but what do you expect from a bookshelf speaker. Similar Products Used: Klipsch KG .5 |

AWESOME LITTLE TIGERS WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT
Weakness:
LOW END MODELS JUST ANOTHER ADDITION TO MY PREVIOUS POST ABOUT THESE REMARKABLE LITTLE SPEAKERS.I HAVE FOR 4 MONTHS NOW BEEN USING THEM AGAIN ON A FULL TIME BASIS--I CAN ONLY ENJOY MY STEREO ON THE WEEKEND THOUGH.MY BIG EXPENSIVE PARADIGMS ARE JUST SITTING IN THEIR BOXES GATHERING DUST...FOR AWHILE NOW DUE TO THE FACT THAT I PREFER THE SOUND QUALITY FROM MY 1.5'S----LISTENING TO BLIND MELON NEVER SOUNDED BETTER IN MY OPINION.WISH I COULD SELL THE PARADIGMS--OH,I HAVE TRIED BUT CANNOT GET MY ASKING PRICE FOR THEM AND THEY ARE HARDLY USED ! NEVER WILL SELL THE KLIPSCH AND THEY REALLY DO HAVE MORE PUNCH AND CLARITY TO THEM...SOME MAY TOTALLY DISAGREE ON THIS BUT IT'S MY PERSONAL PRFERENCE...AGAIN RUNNING TWO PAIRS OF THE 1.5'S IS TRULY AN EXPERIENCE FOR ANY BUDGET AUDIOPHILE.THEY SOUND GREAT DRIVEN BY MY 120 WATT NAD AMP.IF YOU CAN FIND THEM ON E-BAY,THEN DONT HESITATE TO BID ON THEM...YOU CANT GO WRONG..BELIEVE ME !
