Strength:

complete package, excellent range, and the reproduction remains consistent at all volumes.

Weakness:

They don't make them anymore!

After many years of thinking bigger is better. Not true the Kg4 is a beast in a small package. these babies flat out rock. I have a low end pioneer receiver, which make the Kg4 that much more amazing. The Kg4's are my front and back speakers, along with a Boston Acoustic VR2000 12" sub and a MB quart CTR center channel. I also have a set of the Kg 3.5 that i use as a B channel for When I just listen to Music. I listen to a bit of everything, but mostly its jazz and classic rock. If you can find a decent pair at something under $350.00 buy them. Once listen to them you'll think of my and say that due was right. I will never part with mine.

In the price range nothing compares. I have a cousin who has a pair of Thiel speakers which retail for 4-5k. In my humble opinion, the Kg4 watch them in every way. I wouldn't trade ny Kg4 for them.

Strength:

obvious

Weakness:

none

I bought my kg4's at the army PX in Wurzburg, Germany in 1987 for $350. I also bought a Kenwood rack for $800. The few times I really cranked them were intense. Late one night, I thought my German landlord upstairs was gone and after a few beers I really let them loose. Well, after about 10 minutes I heard someone beating on my door between songs. I opened the door to find Frau Bosch, face red and ready to kill me. Needless to say, I never did that again. I still have them in storage and hope to someday soon wake up the neighborhood again.

Strength:

Everything

Weakness:

Nothing except the high end is a little much until you EQ them.

I got these speakers from a friend. Overall they are great. The high end is a little much at first but after some subtle EQ it evens out very well. I would give these speakers a 10 out of 10!!

Strength:

Their strength is overall performance. They do all things well.

I got reinterested in Audio now that the kids are growing up some. Searched the paper and found these. The poor fellow almost cried as I left with his speakers. These speakers continue to impress me with their overall goodness. The kids play games through them while hooked to the PS2, We listen to 2-channel, and surround. They do all these quite well. The bass response is very good and the highs are sweet.

Strength:

high efficiency, power handing and Exceptional sound.

Weakness:

Don't make them anymore

I bought a pair of Bose 901 VI off of Ebay. I had them for about 3 days when a friend told me he had a pair of speakers in his garage and asked if I wanted them. He brought them to work and showed them to me. They were black Klipsch KG4. I took them home hooked, them up and was astounded. The Bose went back on Ebay the same week, I sold them and made $125. I did keep the stands. KG4s look and sound great on them. Use them with a high quality sub and you'll amaze everyone, I don't care what they have.

Strength:

Accurate deep bass with excellent mids and highs

Weakness:

None

I bought these speakers in 1990 when I was 16. They were my first hi end speaker pair. They sounded great then and they sound great now. The 2 8" woofers push out some deep bass and can really rock a room. The horn is just incredible with it's detailed highs and mids. All in all I am sad that they aren't made anymore but I can tell you that if you find a used pair buy em and you won't be disappointed.

Strength:

Value, pedigree, solid construction, dynamics, musicality, efficiency. Lovely oak finish, real furniture! Not fatiguing to listen to. Mailable (barely) Shouldn''t be a target for the lawyers.

Weakness:

They don''t make ''em anymore! Bring ''em back!

It don''t get no better than the kg4! My purchase had a couple of limitations: 1. Budget: my alimony is eating me alive! 2. Mailability: I''m at an APO address in South Korea. 3. Low powered amps: Marantz 2220 (working), Dynaco st70 and Fisher 400 (undergoing repair) I owned a pair of walnut Klipsch Heresy''s (sic) for 17 years and parted with them in 1991 due to personal circumstances. Fast forward to 2002, I''m finally able to afford a speaker upgrade. Nothing I hear short of Lowther or Tannoy megabuck antique rarities sounds good enough to separate me from my cash, so I read some reviews posted here. Okay, I''m already partial to Klipsch. But I notice a trend in the reviews: the kg4s and fortes are competing against much higher priced exotics and coming out on top! The kg4 responds down to 38hz? That''s darn near Klipschorn turf in a box smaller than my old Heresies! They''re less than $300, so they''re easier to hide from the lawyers. (this, and shipping, unfortunately eliminates the Fortes!) I''m sold! So I win a set on ebay from a gentleman in Kansas who is willing to mail them all the way here to S. Korea. They arrive quickly, I check them out and they''re in perfect condition! No surprise, they''re built like the battleship Missouri! I follow the recommendation of one reviewer and add some Acousta-stuf damping material to the top and bottom of each box, and wire them up to my Marantz. WHAT KICK-ASS SOUND! Back to the speakers. I''ve never heard such deep, powerful and well defined bass from a pair of boxes this size. Pay attention to room placement and you should get loads of bass. Who needs a sub-woofer! You can have my kg4''s when you pry my cold dead hands from them! A sad, personal irony for this purchase was that I bought these wonderful speakers on the same day that the fine gentleman, Mr Paul Klipsch, himself passed away

Strength:

With good electronics, you will hear all the sound, all the music that is there.

Weakness:

They don''t make them anymore

We are replacing our twenty year old audio system. Having listened and selected the Naim CD5 and Creek 5350SE, we begain the speaker search, Revel M20, Expos M 15, Tannoy, Naim Intro, Rega, they all had a certain sound and a certain weakness. Having learned to look for the electronics first, we could really hear the differences as we sorted out the CD players, then integrated amps, we wondered how would our 10 year old Klipsch KG 4''s sound through wonderful electronics? We packed them to our audio store and literally heard things we never heard before. "Ode to Joy" in the 9th Sympony drew tears to my eye, every inflection in the voice by Dixie Chicks in "I believe in Love", the right hand attack in Bollin and Rampal on "Sentimental", Paul McCartney''s voice (The one the girls all screamed for)in "No more Lonely Nights". These speakers have been lying dormant for ten years. The rest of the speakers listened to, have some peaks that poke above the sound of these speakers, but none of them come even close to the over all sound, and ability to make music from all the ranges of music available. With the new electronics, we will no hear what these speakers can play.
