Oustanding Imaging (Definately a sweet spot - find it), Great clarity and response, although a little bright for some music (but horns in music sound GREAT). Positioning them correctly definately makes a difference. The louder they are, the better they sound... Have them together with a KLF-C7 center (AWESOME!), a KSW-200 sub, and KSB 3.1 rears, Sony 61" rear projection, and Aura 50w Bass Shakers. Very happy. |

In response to berkan I would just like to say that there must have been a problem with the speaker setup at the place you were listening to them. I find it very hard to believe that you could compare these speakers with a $59 pair of Jensens. If I were you and you and you were seriously considering a pair of these KFL 20's, go and listen to them somewhere else. I own a pair of older klipsch fronts and center and I am planning to upgrade my fronts to the KLF 20's. I have heard them and I love them. I give them four stars just because I don't own them and have not got a chance to compare them with my old setup but I'm SURE that I will be impressed. |

After listening to every speaker I could, I bought a pair of KLF 20's a few weeks ago and I am very satisfied. I was originally planning to purchase a subwoofer/satellite combination. For aesthetic reasons this had appeal. But after hearing the KLF 20's for about 10 seconds it was clear that ears would win over eyes without difficulty. The difference between these speakers and all the others (most major brands and quite a few smaller companies, retail priced up to about $3,000/pr.) I listened to was amazing. Even the KLF 10's didn't come close (without that second horn they just don't compare). I did not get a chance to listen to the KLF 30's or the bigger Klipsch speakers, but the 20's are big enough already and it will be months before my wife accepts their presence in our living room. I paid $1195 for them (wish more people would offer this kind of info) and had to wait a couple weeks for them to be specially ordered.I am driving these speakers with 100 watts/ch. and they certainly don't seem to need even that. I was initially concerned I might be dissappointed with their performance for certain types of music. So far they have dazzled me with everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Led Zeppelin. There doesn't seem to be any type of music they can't handle. They are truly amazing with female vocals (try Loreena McKennit, Ella Fitzgerald, Cheryl Crow). Some people might find the highs sparkle too much but I am fond of that and sometimes even boost the treble. The low end is clean and goes down as far as I need it to. I use these speakers 90% for music, 10% for home theatre. I might consider a sub (only a really good one) if I were interested in action/adventure movies, but for music I can't imagine it adding much. I have a pair of Klipsch KSB 1.1's for surround speakers and they are well-matched with the KLF 20's in that application. My listening room is 12' x 16' and acoustically it's an average living room. |

I recently purchased the KLF20's for $1400. I realized it was just shy of full retail, but after hearing them, I couldn't wait for a mail order place to ship them. I originally had listened to the 10's at a friends house, and they sounded incredible until he moved. Afterwards, he placed them in a room with hardoowd floors and no carpeting. This made the soundstage dissapear and the mid and highrange echo until it sounded like pure noise. I listened to Stanley Clarke on the 10's for nearly 20 minutes at the store. For laughs, I asked the salesman to switch to the 20's. I couldn't leave the store without them. I'm driving the speakers with the Sony STR-DE1015G AV receiver at 100/channel 80% audio, 20% HT. With my CD's ported optically into the receiver from my Sony DVD, the clarity and response is incredible. I tried Loreena McKennitt, "Greensleaves" and "The Lady of Shallot" at high volumes. You can almost identify the size of her mouth thanks to the horns. I played Flameco Tomatito "Callejon de las Canteras", El Viejin "A mi Hijo Jonatan", and Rafael Riqueni, "Chicelina" and the strumming of the guitars was crisp, the attack was almost like a hammer. Two friends have auditioned the speakers at my apartment so far, much to my neighbor's dismay, and one has rushed out to purchase this week, the other was practically in tears over his recent purchase of "other" speakers. Buy these!!! |

I presently have the KLF 10's which I'm soon returning for a pair of the 20's. After some final comparisons, I feel this speaker is a tick better than the 30's, if you appreciate the mid's and high's. I was recently on Klipsch's home page and am desperetly trying to find out more about their new Synergy Premier series ie. the 300's and 400's (who carries them) so I can sample a pair. Can anybody help me out here? |

Clarity,Midrange is very good, bass is adequate
Weakness:
Tweeter's are not that clear on music CD's It really surprise me when these speakers get a low rating. Especially when Home Theather Magazine gives these speakers a very good rating. And to me those guys are really tuff and straight forward when it comes to a review of and product. If it stinks they will let you know. I had the KLF20 for a little over a year and I can tell you these are the best speakers I had ever had. Considering that I DJ for a living and use high end amplifier's and speakers. I use the KLF20's strickly for my home theater system and the sound that you get on movies are incredible. When I read majority of the reviews I have to wonder what amps. and other audio equipment that is used. If you have medium to high end speakers, audio equipment you can't use low end audio to push these speaker's. In fact if you have a complete Home Theather System. You should push the KLF20's with a power amp....not a AV-Receiver, you won't fully achieve the sound you want. With the little advise that I am giving. I rate these speakers at a 4.5 rating. Really really decent speakers. My Home Theather consist of: KLF20's, Klipsch Senergy(rear speakers), Klipsch reference(center channel)and Klipsch 12(subwoofer) AUDIO: Onkyo AV-ReceiverDS777,Onkyo Intrega 12band EQ. Sony530 DVD,AMC 2100 Power Amp.Sony 5CD Changer, JVC Tape Deck and the Harman Karden M30 Cd recorder. Hour's and Hour's of enjoyment. |
