Strength:

Absolutly Realistic!!!!!!!

Weakness:

HEAVY!!!!!Don't catch your toes under those spikes!!!

Allz I have to say is...I am SO glad I found this batch of reviews. I picked these puppies up for $800, after I had pawned my old Yamaha, Hersey II setup 4 years ago (I know...I should be shot) Actually I had picked up a pair of CSW Tower II's, and always knew how much I missed my old Klipsch's. So I found somebody to buy my CSW's and went on a new speaker hunt. Originally I was gonna pick up Klipsch's new RF3's, but when I found these KLF20's I knew even without hearing them that these would be what I was really looking for. (especially since I had paid $799 for my Herseys years ago)Anyway I got em home (after denting the headliner in my car, and knocking my back out getting up to my second floor apartment)and did I say that I was Thrilled!!!!! All of a sudden I heard cymbals again, the way they sound for real. And the bass was nice and tight. At the time I was also using a KSW12(nice match by the way)
Anyway after upgrading my sub to a Velodyne HGS12 to kinda match the high efficiency of the KLF20's, I had found my dream setup. Matched that with a Denon AVR3300, and a Rotel CD player, and I'm a happy camper again.
This is where it gets complicated...Ever been into a semi high end store (let alone a real high end one)and had em tell you that your speakers are nothing but "Boom and Sizzle"? Then they put on some "Reference" speakers, and you kinda wonder where the cymbals went too? But those sound better than the ones you have.....right? WRONG!!!!
I'm not sure what exactly these guys hear, but I know what I don't hear with thier $3500 speakers. I mean they really DO sound great, but for $3500 they should replace my girlfriend,if ya know where I'm coming from. Anyway in short,...for a speaker in this price range, even at the suggested $1500 a pair....these things freakin ROCK. Weather I'm listening to NIN's, Radiohead, Sarah McLachlan,
or even Yanni, the KLF20's really shine. And if you want alittle more bottem end, I'll through a plug in here for my Velodyne. The vocals are the most realistic I've found at any price. Don't let some numbers hungry sales guy steer you away from these. They'r probably overstocked on the speakers they'r tryin to sell you instead. Please don't misunderstand me on all of this, there ARE pleanty of other speakers out there that DO sound better than the KLF's...but not at this price, or for another $1000 in my opinion. But thats just what this is....MY OPINION. Thanks to all the rest of the philes that wrote into this review. You all REALLY made my day. (I knew I wasn't tone deaf...Freaking sales people....Sheeeeeeeeeesh!)

Strength:

Value,sound.

Weakness:

Tremendous size, not magnectically shielded. Even with high sensitivity it takes power to let them shine.

These are great sounding, but listen to rf-3's before you buy these monsters. At near 100 pounds a piece your UPS guy will not be only one with a hernia! I love their sound and its hard to go wrong with any klipsch product no matter how much cash you want to spend, where I think the klf-20 is great sounding, then they come out with the new reference line, give the rf-3 A listen for roughly the same cost you get a reasonably sized speaker with a soundstage you wont believe, half the size twice as sweet! And dont let the 8 inch(aluminum)drivers fool you they go deep! I'm not downing the klf-20,but I know if your reading this you might buy these, you'll like em ,but give the new line a listen its a definite step forward! Opinions LOL!

Strength:

GREAT BASS WITH THE RIGHT POWER. PLAY LOUD WITH NO BREAKUP OR DISTORTION. CLEAR AND POWERFUL SOUND

Weakness:

HEAVY (I HAD TO CARRY THESE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR MYSELF).I HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORS & COULDN'T USE SPIKES AND I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE WAY THE FEET WORKED (MAYBE SOMETHING WAS MISSING) I GOT SOME HEX BOLTS FROM THE HARDWARE STORE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

I LOOKED FOR NEW SPEAKERS FOR ABOUT A YEAR TO REPLACE MY 14 YEAR OLD KLIPSCH KG4'S. (ALTHOUGH THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE AND PRICE POINT, MY FAVORITES WERE VANDERSTEEN 3A'S). BUT I'VE BEEN A KLIPSCH GUY FOR A WHILE. I'VE HAD SEVERAL PAIRS OF HERESEY II'S, AND I HAVE KP102 PRO SPEAKERS (8" 2WAYS) FOR MY "STUDIO". I NARROWED MY CHOICE TO THE PARADIGM 100'S AND THE KLF20'S. I WENT BACK TO SEVERAL STORES ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS TO TRY BOTH THE PARADIGNS AND THE KLF20'S. THE PARADIGMS WERE NICE AND SMOOTH, BUT THEY SEEMED TO SOUND DIFFERENT EVERYTIME I LISTENED, WHEREAS THE KLF20'S ALWAYS SOUNDED EXCELLENT AND THE SAME, AND THE PRICE WAS BETTER. SO I GOT THE KLF20'S. THEY DID TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO GET PLACED RIGHT. I FOUND THE BEST SOUND BIAMPING WITH AN ADCOM 545II AND ADCOM 535. THE BASS JUST GETS SO DEEP AND THE MID AND HIGHS ARE SO CLEAN. I ALSO USE A GOLDEN TUBE SEP1SE PREAMP, AND SONY CD MACHINE. I REALLY LOVE THESE SPEAKERS. RE: OTHER SPEAKERS. I HAVE LISTENED TO THE NEW REFERENCE SERIES. I PLAN ON GETTING THE RB5'S FOR MY SMALLER LISTENING ROOM, AND I LIKE THE KLF20'S BETTER THAN THE FLOOR STANDING MODELS IN THAT SERIES.

going to make this short and sweet. After loosing my house to a fire, it was time to replace my cambridge ensembles however you spell it)with some new equipment. I loved these little speaker but time to try something new. As everyone knows there are a lot of very nice speaker out there in the price range I was looking at. Anyhow i looked, thought about it, looked some more thouht about it, looked some more ect. I had listen to the 20's about three months before and lots of of them afterwards. something just keep bringing me back to the klipsh. I can not put it words not really sure you can but as the saleman said "just something about these speakers". will not get into the great highs, solid base explination of these things but the sound is just something that stayed with me. as you may know these speaker have been replaced by new series probably becouse they are to expensive to make at this price. new models, new price, lighter material. the dealer had one pair of these left and these probably were the last pair availabe within a 100 mile radius. It was one of those now or never deals, did get him to come off $300 and make a good price on the surrrounds. they now proudly sit in my new home and feel very fortunate to have them.

I have read the reviews on this page and I can tell you that the people that give these speakers less than 5 stars either dont have them set up correctly or need to get there hearing checked. These speakers can handle anything you throw at them, ANYTHING... They are excellant for home theater and the guy who gave them a poor rating did not even have a center channel(anbody that knows anything about home theater knows the center channel is the most imortant speaker i the bunch)... No wonder he said the voices sounded chesty, get a freakin clue buddy and by the way cindy lauper doesn't even desearve to be played on these incredible speakers!!!A great buy even at retail price...

I just upgraded my older Klipsch KG3.5's to KLF-20's and am amazedat how big a difference they make for both HT and music. I am now
in the process of upgrading my reciever to DD and want to hear opinions
from others as to what recievers/processors people are matching/using
with these speakers. So far I have only listened to Yamaha recievers
and am considering the RXV-2095, but I am open to other suggestions.
However with my current setup(Carver separates) these speakers rock.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN USING MY KLIPSCH FORTE'S FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS NOW AND LIKE THE REST OF KLIPSCH OWNERS THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO,BOY DO YOU GET SPOILED BY THESE BABIES! NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, EVERYONE THAT LISTEN'S TO THEM FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM.......BUT......MY BROTHER HAS TAKEN THEM OVER, SINCE I MOVED AND LEFT THEM OVER THERE TOO LONG. NOW HE DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE THEM UP. SO I WENT LOOKING FOR SOME NEW KLIPSCH SPEAKERS. I CHECKED OUT THE KLF 20'S AND FROM WHAT I HEARD IN THE STORE THEY SOUNDED THE CLOSEST TO MY FORTE'S. POWERFULL, CLEAR, LOVE THE HORNS. FOR WHAT THEY COST IS MY BUDGET. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN MY PRICE RANGE THESE ROCK, AND I LISTEN TO EVERY KIND OF MUSIC. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LISTEN TO ALOT OF OTHER SPEAKERS B&W, PARADIGM, BUT IN MY OPINION ONCE YOU OWN KLISPCH IT'S TOO HARD TO PART. SO IF ANY ONE HAS AN OPINION ON A SPEAKER THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE FORTE'S OR BETTER PERFERABLY IN THE KLIPSCH'S LINE E- MAIL ME PLEASE! I REALLY PLAN ON GETTING THESE PUPPIES IN TWO WEEKS IF SOMETHING DOESEN'T CHANGE MY MIND AND IF I DO I WILL BE WRITING AGAIN TO TELL YOU WHAT I THINK BUT SO FAR IN THE STORE I GIVE THEM A HIGH 5.

I've owned a pair for over a year now and I've been quite impressed. The best sounding mass market speaker I've ever heard. And the $1000 price I paid for them makes them an outstanding value. This speaker redefines "bang for the buck".
5 stars.
