I auditioned the KSF10.5 against Polk, Definitive Technology, Boston Acoustics and they are the *CLEAR* winner. Talk about imaging, lack of coloration and efficiency, they are just the best! The SPL is 95dB which makes them just perfect for a 75-100W amp. If you want to turn it up, you can and still not bottom out. A piano, sax, flute, drums sound just like they're supposed to. Vocals are very lifelike to my ears. The Tractrix 90x60 deg tweeter holds the stage constant. I like jazz and classical. Last night listened to Dvorak Piano Symphony on CD and you'd swear that it's in the room. Aslo played a early Telarc recording of Cleveland Symphonic Winds on my record player (yes, some people still have'em!) and it was so lifelike that I got goosebumps! Also have a 15" sub that complements the audio system. Can't find anything bad to say about the Klipschs. Give it five (5) stars. |

Strength:
Awesome sound, great detail very nice low end, although adding the KSW-15 to them sure picked up the over all package!
Weakness:
Icky plastic feet. I sat three years ago in several stereo shops listening to Klipsch, Boston, M&K etc... while I was in Simply Stereo in Palatine IL, in walked a saleman with a brand new pair of KSF 10.5 rosewood towers. He hooked them up and I was hooked. Awesome detail, the soundstage was a little off because of the quick way he set them up (in the middle of the room) I bought them and hooked them up to my old Technics SAGX-730 put in the Telarc 1812 overture and enjoyed myself like a little kid till 3:00am. I give these speakers a 5 for every rating, gongrats to Klipsch for such good speakers for the money! Similar Products Used: KSW-15 subwoofer, KSF C5 center channel and a pair of KT-DS THX rear channel speakers. |

I am really surprised by everyone's good review of this speaker. Except for the bass and it's large soundstage, I think its terrible sounding. Grainy and congested mids and bright highs made me cringe when i auditioned them. I'm glad people are finding them for around $400, because they are certainly not worth $800. For a couple of hundred more (retail) you could get B&W DM603s, which I find better in every aspect. |

I recently purchased these speakers for the great price of $460 for the pair. The acquisition of these speakers lead to the replacement of a pair of AR PS 318 speakers that I've owned for less than a year. I was extremely unhappy with two channel music reproduction through the AR's. My major complaint with the AR's was that the reproduction of the snare drum was too unnatural. It is extremely annoying so I decided to give the Klipshs a go. My system is comprised of the following components : Yamaha RX-V 793, an old Sony cdp-c322m The Klipsh 10.5's, C-5, and lastly the 100 watt Klipsh sub. The aformentioned AR's have since been moved to the rear and replaced an old pair of KLH bookshelf speakers. I just recieved the Toshiba SD 3109 yesterday but I have yet to test it. (I watched Ronin briefly and it sounded excellent). The Toshiba M-754 is also a very good unit for as far as VCR's are concerned. |

I just got a pair of 10.5's and love them. I need some advice in the placement of the speakers. I haven't moved into my new place yet and currently my place is too cramped with boxes and furnitures to experiment with placement. Should I do what the manuel says? Do the normal rules hold? Thanx a lot. |

I purchased a pair of KSF 10.5's a month ago and I like them better every time I listen to them. I can describe the sound with one word - smooth. Lows, mids, and highs blend very well. Bass is tight and accurate, mids are clean, and highs are bright. This is very a musical speaker that excels in instrumentals and vocals. If you're looking for beefy bass or shrilling highs, this speaker may not be for you. But for realistic, undistorted, clean & bright sound, these are perfect. I'm driving them with a Denon AVR2700 receiver and they work just as well for home theater. For comparison, I looked at the NHT SuperTwo, Energy xE-26, Definitive BP8, Mirage OM12, Monitor Silver5, Kef Q-55, as well as the Boston Acoustics, Paradigm, Mission, Phase Tech, and Tannoy (can't remember all the models) in the same price range and the Klipsch won hands down. |

Weakness:
a little bright I Have been actively putting together a Home Theater system for about 4yrs now.I've spent a lot of time getting educated about dolby prologic, digital, and ect..., my last really good system before this was a set of Cerwin Vega 123s powered by a Sansui G7700,circa 1980,I kinda lost touch for a while.Anyway I shop a lot at pawnshop's and have found some amazing deal's one of which is a pair of Ksf 10.5's. I purchased mine for 235 dollar's plus tax at Superpawn.I had shopped around a lot before I found these and knew what they were worth, and cost new. Similar Products Used: KG 2.5 |
