I was set on buying these speakers after auditioning many including B&W, Energy, Mission, Mirage, and others. I went to a local store where I had auditioned these to try and get a price competitive with those I found on the internet. I was disappointed to find that the entire KSF line had been discontinued and that he was sold out. I was dejected, but decided to listen to some other stuff. After about an hour of auditioning others, I put on the Energy C6 and totally forgot that I had ever looked at anything else. The highs were much smoother and the bass seemed much more accurate than any Klipsch model I'd listened too. I realize now that the Klipsch mids and highs had been quite bright in comparisson to the C6's. I took home the C6 for front, C2 for rear, and the AC300 for the center. AWESOME!! For all of those looking to buy what's left of these speakers, do yourself a favor and listen to a pair of Energy's. The difference is quite impressive. Overall, 2.5 speakers for sound and 4 speakers for the Klipsch efficiency. |

All I can say is if you can get a pair of these before their gone, DO IT! I stepped up to these from a Polk satellite/sub system and the difference is night and day. It's like there was a towel draped over the Polks compared to the 10.5's. Once again if you can get them get them now! |

I spent the afternoon speaker shopping in hopes of finding speakers as good as the Klipsch Fortes I bought about 10 years ago. |

What a great speaker!! I mostly use them for home theater. Just finished watching Meet Joe Black, the end scene with the fireworks going off and orchestra type music really made these speakers shine. I just upgraded the fronts from some crappy KLH speakers. Before I bought these I listened to some Polks (yuck in my opinion), Infinity's (overated and overpriced), and some B.I.C's. In my opinion for the price I paid for the pair of these, just under $450 from 800.com. I find them to be a steal. I have these bad boys connected via some monster wire to a Yamaha 2095 receiver. All and all a great speaker at a great price. Grab them while you can, they've stopped making them |

First off, I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to fill out the reviews that finally arrived me with these incredible speakers. As a qualifier, I purchased a pair of Boston Acustics vr940s and returned them the next day. A huge fan of Boston Acustics, I was dissappointed that the 940s were muted in sound and terrible deficient in the lower range (particularly aparent when listening to acustic guitar solos). I should further note that I have a sizable bias against Klipsch in that I spent four years with a blown-out pair in undergrad whose primary purpose was to get noise complaints from across the river. However, the 10.5s (if you can find them) are a brilliant contrast. Horn sections (e.g. Mighty, Mighty Bosstones) are unparrelled, the mid-range is very solid, and the bass is crisp. A definite purchase if found sub-$500. |

Strength:
strong but pleasing bass, highs are clear as a bell......
Weakness:
none so far............. after using these babies for a few months, i must admit that these are the best speakers i have used in this price range. I spent $600 and am very pleased. The room i have my system in is 20x20 and let me tell you, i can hear every instrument clear across the house. Sittin at my kitchen table i can listen to these amazing speakers with ease. The bass is very tight and the mids are very precise. Unbelievable. I recommend these speakers over B&W, infinity, Bose, JBL, etc........I have these matched with the SF-2 for rear and I would match my system with anyone. I am driving these babies with Harmon Kardon 5800 amp and the 2500 preamp. Similar Products Used: B&W, JBL....... |

Strength:
Soundstage - Quality - Value
Weakness:
None I have had the 10.5's for a year and a half now. I am a demanding consumer. This product is one of the best buys I have ever come across. H/T or music the 10.5 is a winner. Buy this speaker if you have the chance. Great soundatage and bass, too bright for the anal but perfect for people without too much verbal baggage when it comes to audio products. I had recently sold a pair of Carver AL 3s, Not because i did not like them, but because in my opinion they were not right for my room. Having wanted to find a pair of speakers with a perfect or near perfect timbre match to the rest of my system (KG 1.5,2.5,& KG3)i saw the ad here for the 10.5s at 800.com! But before buying these speakers i decided to go to the local Good Guys(A/V store) & listen to a pair. All they had was "one pair"(in two different size boxes) for $199 each & none on the floor. So i decided to listen to the next best thing just to get an idea of what these might sound like. I chose the KLF 10s,(the only difference is they have 10 inch woofers). They were on the sides of a very small room, only about 5 feet apart & only 6 or 7 feet away from the seat i was in. At first having only the music the salesman had on hand,"they did not sound very good & did indeed sound bright"! So i decided to go to my car & get some discs from my changer. The speakers "still did not sound that good", but for that price i was willing to take a chance, knowing that the room had a lot to do with the sound. But when i got these baby's home, i could here a big difference! I think thick carpet tones down the highs a bit. I have them hooked up to the same amp that i had the AL 3s on (300 WPC @ 8 ohms) & at first was running them with the full 300 wats, they could handle the wats & sound "great" producing more bass than i expected! But i decided to turn the amp down to what i figure is 200 wats (just to be closer to THX specs). As it turns out the SYNERGY line of speakers is part of a familly of speakers designed for home theatre (with the center & surounds having 6.5" woofers & tractrix horn tweeters. "What a coincidence all of my speakers have those components too", & are therefore a perfect timbre match. After listening to them for a little while now "in my home" i can say they have a very flat frequency responce & i think they produce the sound of musical instruments "more life-like" than most speakers in there price range! One final word, try them in your home if thinking of buying a pair. Most dealers will let you return them, & you may be surprised at the difference propper placement & the room can make,"i was". |

I'm really impressed with these speakers. I have to admit though, I was a bit skeptical at first of their potential after reading some of the other reviews. That soon subsided, and I gave them a go. Unfortunately, when I got them home one of them was severely damaged in transit, so I had to order a replacement. In the mean time, however, I thought I'd hook up just the one to get an idea of what to expect with two. The sound was intense, but then again I had upgraded from a cheesy JBL satellite set. Anyways, as I continued to listen in awe, I was astonished by how clear and crisp the sound was from only one speaker. Then again, maybe it's because I'm running a Yamaha RX-V995, which makes anything sound rather clear. Regardless, when I eventually recieved the other speaker I was equally impressed. The mids and highs are fine and the bass response as well, however, if you're looking to shake the bricks out of your house, look elsewhere. All in all, a good set of speakers for a decent price of under $500. |

Strength:
Reasonably priced and highly efficient.
Weakness:
Neighbors like their sound but have never been over for a visit When I first bought I had a cheapo JVC amp/reciever and they sounded great. Then I bought a mid priced Sony STR DA 930. The sound was incredible at first and then my roomate said" There's no sound coming from this one!" One of the speaker wires had come loose. With both speakers hooked up it sounded fantastic! I was extremely pleased with the sound, extremely life like. Similar Products Used: Had a pair of Klipsch Heresy's before. |
