Strength:

Outclass most "PC speakers" by a wide margin; loud, energetic, crisp; nice little subwoofer

Weakness:

Non-standard (mini-plug) speaker wires (limit placement); background hiss; can't play softly?!

After reading all of the glowing reviews/previews on PC gaming web sites, I purchased this system direct from www.klipsch.com, and I have not once regretted it. They make the Creative Labs systems, which were previously considered --at least by "gamers," not audiophiles-- to be the best thing besides using a home audio system, sound like a total joke! Indeed, I found it to be nearly impossible to find a suitable set of speakers to use with my computer, but Klipsch fit the bill. Anyone that thinks the $249 price tag is high is definitely on crack, for you'd have to spend several times that to get an equivalent sound with home audio speakers (and you simply can *not* get an equivalent sound with pretty much any "PC speakers"). The only drawbacks I can think of for this system are that (a) it is so powerful that it's actually difficult to get it to play *softly*, while I've never dared to turn the volume knob much past the half-way mark, and (b) for a while I was experience quite loud background hissing, though this is unnoticeable once the explosive sound kicks in. Basically, though, in its market this system appears to have no peer.

Strength:

Tight Bass, Clean Treble, Nice Soundstage

Weakness:

No Headphoen Jack

Without a doubt, these have to be the finest PC speakers on the planet. Being an audiophile, I expect a lot more than most PC gamers. When positioned properly (away from walls and monitor) the satellites create a very fine soundstage with reasonably accurate timbre. The lower midrange is kind of soft, but treble makes up for it. The woofer (it does well, but I still can't call it a sub) blends very nicely with the satellites. I've listened to R&B, NIN, Nirvana, The Cranberries, and Jazz. They do it all (especially jazz).

If all you use them for is to play games, you won't be dissapointed. The pinpoint imaging helps and QIII Rockets are absolutely incredible!!!

I've read complaints regarding hiss, but as long as my sound card isn't maxed out, I don't hear any.

If you are looking for a quality PC audio system, your search is over. Plus, for only $250 they are an absolute steal. Don't tell Klipsch this but they could ask over $500 for them and they would still be worth it.

Highly recommended.

Strength:

Can get more than loud enough, stereo sound quality is usually very good.

Weakness:

I must've gotten a bum set, subwoofer seems underpowered, rear speakers haven't worked since day one.

Considering all of the rave reviews I've heard on this product, I think I must've gotten a bum set. The two front speakers and the subwoofer were fine, they're much cleaner than my worn out Altec Lansings. However despite trying 3 different 4-speaker sound cards (2 Diamond Monster Sound MX300's and a SB Live!), I still haven't heard a peep from the rear speakers. Yes, I setup the drivers properly, software tests *say* the rear two speakers are working, but... must've gotten fault speakers. Subwoofer is a little more muted than what the reviews I've heard say. I read about "room shaking" and "make sure you have earthquake insurance before using these!" but at 3/4 subwoofer volume, things are just... good. Enough to bother my roommates when they're in the kitchen between my room, but ... it's not *room shaking*, only moderately better than my crappy Altec Lansing sub. A good game of Unreal Tournament, though, with the sound turned up will have my roomies leaning in the door and yelling to get my attention. ;)

Otherwise, as a stereo unit (not surround) I am satisfied with them, though not thrilled, and I'm not entirely sure they were worth the $249 price tag and the 2 month wait I endured.
