First, let me start by stating I am an actual consumer who purchased my speakers on eBay from an authorized Klipsch online dealer and I am not affiliated in any way with the seller. For the record, I purchased mine on eBay from Sound Distributors at 50% off MSRP.

I agree with another reviewer's observation that most of the reviews posted here on the RF7II appear very suspect. They sound very much like advertisements for one particular seller. I don't know if this is true or not, but it certainly looks like it to me.

I am using my RF7IIs in a large living room. I spaced the speakers as widely apart as my living room allows. I use mine as a 2-speaker setup with no subwoofer. I only use them for listening to music. They are placed about two feet from the back wall. The resulting bass extension is almost overwhelming. With the RF7II, no expensive dedicated subwoofer is ever needed for only music listening.

When I first hooked up my new RF7IIs they sounded somewhat harsh in the treble.
but after a month of playing them at high volume and repositioning the speakers, a dramatic transformation took place. They are now very nice sounding. Maybe my ears simply got used to them after listening to them for a whole month, who knows.

What I really like about the RF7II is the clear treble, the heavy and punchy bass, the gorgeous cherry veneers, and above all else, the enormous sound stage. The sound is very immersive and all encompassing. I didn't know what "authority" meant as some professional audiophile reviewers used the term to describe speakers until I played music on the RF7IIs. The RF7II likes to be played loudly and when the volume is cranked somewhat high, the music sounds with great authority (that combined quality of immense clarity, balanced loudness across the frequency spectrum, great ambiance, huge soundstage, and concert hall-like presence).

The only two cons with the speakers are the tweeter horn can ring with certain high notes when played at high volume. The ringing is a combination of detectable ringing and buzzing sound. The ringing manifests itself when I play Adele's Someone Like You at somewhat high volume. Of the many, many CDs I have, only a few songs on one or two CDs have managed to produce this ringing sound, so it clearly is not a great problem, but the problem is them nevertheless. Perhaps the next version RF7III, with its silicone rubber horn, will minimize this ringing.

The second con is that the midrange is not as rich as I would like. This was very noticeable during the first month break-in period, but I no longer notice it. Perhaps the breakin took care of this. At first I added a 31-band equalizer to boost the midrange and it immediately gave it a much richer sound around the 1k Hz area, but now that the speakers are broken in I can remove the EQ and the speakers would sound about the same.

The Klipsch RF7II is my first pair of serious speakers. They are ABSOLUTELY worth the price I paid for them.

In 2015 I bought a pair of Klipsch RF7-II, while the speakers do sound OK, after a while the horns do tend to wear you down. I kept these speakers in my system for a year and then replaced them with a pair of Legacy Audio Focus SE's and I couldn't be happier. I am so happy in fact that I boxed up the RF-7II's and put them into storage.

Now I know that the Klipsch and the Legacy are not in the same "class of speaker" and the music that the Legacy produces will quickly point that out, from it's tight bass, strong mids, and butter smooth highs Legacy has proving to be one of the finest speakers on the market, from it's fit and finish you will be pleasantly surprised by it's beauty (my speakers are in the Rosewood). Let me take a minute to add something about the Black Pearl finish...I'm not a big fan of black finished speakers, for some reason they just don't impress me. Now, with that being said, the Black Pear finish that Legacy has is stunning. Pictures don't do it justice, and I found myself really struggling with which finish to buy. With me the Rosewood finally won out but I could have been just as happy with the Black Pearl.

I know that this was suppose to be a write up about the Klipsch, and here is my take on it... It's a fair to good speaker depending on the kind of music you listen to. As a speaker for your AV system it would probably be fine for it, however, for a 2 channel system that all you will do is listen to music I think I would pass and save my money up for a higher end speaker like the Legacy or B&W, etc.

These are decent speakers. Looking at the other reviews, it looks like they might be sellers in disguise. Everyone of them advertising where they bought them.

Anyway, they are good. I have owned better for the dollar, but they are a solid speaker.

I purchased the RF 7II and center channel speaker from http://www.acousticsounddesign.com/ after several months of research. I planned on getting the B grade version but when I called they were running a sale with A grade even cheaper than advertised B grade version.
Mike was great to deal with and with fast ree delivery this company can not be beat. Do not hesitate to buy from them they are awesome. Oh yeah the speakers are awesome of course. Thanks MIke

Ive been rockin Klipsch RF3/RC3/RS3 (now the RF82's) surround system for over 10 years with nothing but complete satisfaction. Wanted the RF7 system at time but couldn't justify expense for such a moderate sized family room (16'x18'). Moved into a new house with a 24'x24' family room and decided take the plunge an buy the RF-&7ii/RC64 system . Acoustic Sound Design (www.acousticsounddesign.com) made my decision very easy when I got quote form them - over $1,800 cheaper than all the competion -WOW! Cannot believe sound difference and music quality I have been missing for years, not that RF3's are poor choice because they are far better than any other product at its price point, dont get me wrong. It's just that RF-&ii's are pur accoustic bliss! Thanks to the ASD team for making my dream system come true.

Ordered the Klipsch RF-7II speakers from Acoustic Sound Design after months of research. I made an offer for B stock speakers and Acoustic Sound Design actually beat my offer! I placed the order and failed to mention the cabinet finish. Acoustic Sound Design called late on friday (the day I placed the order) and verified the cabinet finish with the promise the order would be shipped on Monday. It was and I received the speakers on wednesday. Couldn't ask for faster free shipping. I connected the speakers and they were not what I expected. They were better. Much better. The B stock rating is only slightly noticeable, but does not at all subtract from the appearance and well worth the reduced price. It's true you have to look for the imperfection because it is so slight. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the entire transaction and extremely satisfied with the speakers. Acoustic Sound Design offered quality components at very competitive prices and made a future customer out of me.

I purchased these speakers new from www.AcousticSoundDesign.com in 2013. Mike Embers, CEO of ASD was exceptionally responsive, their prices couldn't be beat by **anyone**, and they were shipped safely and securely in a very short amount of time. I am extremely happy with ASD, and thrilled to have my RF-7ii's and surrounding speakers now hooked up.

I am very impressed with the entire reference Klipsch line up. In addition to my RF-7ii towers, I also got the RC-62ii center speaker, and the RS-52ii surrounds. The entire system sounds amazing. Crisp, excellent imaging and the bass in the towers are incredible. I have bi-wired these with AudioQuest Rockets, and this also is a must if you are going to invest in a good speaker set up. I can't say enough about the clarity and depth that these speakers have. If you close your eyes, it is like listening to your music in 3-D... The breath and depth of the sound stage is impressive. Going through ASD made this purchase very affordable, and I am thrilled with the Klipsch Reference speakers.
