Strength:
Clear treble, good strong driving bassline, nice looking (White drive unit)
Weakness:
Nothing significant considering what i paid for them, although may need a sub I bought thease speakers about a month ago and have been very pleased with them. Clear treble and strong bassline, although a sub will greatly improve the sound by tying up those lose ends. Similar Products Used: Mission 701 |

Strength:
versatile with all music
Weakness:
not quite as bass weighty as manufacturers would lead us to believe. I bought my mission 700's for their dynamic versatile sound. They sound good with any music you throw at them.Acoustic instuments really excel, and vocals are distinct and clear.Placement is unfussy, and I believe that front ported speakers are better balanced than rear ported ones.At the bass end of things, these missions are fine, but not as hefty as the manufacturers would lead us to believe. I ordered the 700's from Reference AV (www.reference-av.com) for $125. What a bargain! Strong, clear, and if one ads a powered subwoofer, you have yourself a very affordable, high quality system. Thumbs up to their car speakers too which unfortunately aren't available in America |

I got these as surrounds in my home theatre to go with 701s up front, a 70C2 center, and a sub. They are more than adequate for high volumes. Despite supposedly having the same tweeter as all the Mission 700 series, the 700,701,70C2 each have a somewhat different timbre. This is most likely attributable to the bass drivers being different sizes, and the fact that the crossover is at 4khz, meaning that the bass dirvers are handling the frequencies with which your ear is most scrutinizing. The off-axis responses are not impressive, but that didn't bother me because these are for theatre not music. THX systems supposedly use very directional speakers, so that the surround effects are most convincing in Dolby Digital mode. A wide dispersion would only "smear" the soundeffects, although it would make speaker placement much less critical. The sound from these missions is quite smooth once broken in. (My sony 333es reciever sure helps in that department, too) Bass is tight and fast, thanks to the little glass woofer, and there's very little midbass boom that paradigm minis are often maligned for. The sensitivity is a middling 87db, but they still go plenty loud... If you had to pay full retail in the US for these, I would definitely look at other brands, not for better sound quality (the neutrality, smoothness and midrange accuracy are awesome for home theatre), but on the basis of better value for the dollar. |

Strength:
imaging, clarity, solid construction
Weakness:
frequency range, minor distortion on complex passages I purchased the Mission 700's a little over a year ago off of Ubid.com for approximately $70 (US). I am very pleased with these speakers performance for the price I paid for them. I mainly listen to accoustical, modern classical, and contemporary music and this speaker preforms admirably for this type of music. A listener preferring something with more bass in their music should consider other speakers. The speakers image fairly well and are not overly placement sensitive. The reason they are not too overly expensive is that they do have their limitations. They will only reach down to about 65hz and roll off anything below that. Bass down until that point is fairly tight and well controlled, however. The speakers also have a tendency to develop some minor distortion during complex music passages at louder volumes. Strength:
Excellent hi range. Super crisp bass.
Weakness:
None that i can find. Just plain excellent for all around speaker. Especially for a smaller room like the one i have them in. I have them as my forward speakers for my computer (surround) and they are extremely clean. I would highly recommend them. |

Strength:
Clear sound for a good price.
Weakness:
Weak bass. Excellent speaker for the money. Crisp high and mid ranges, but not much bass. Very good speakers to use for the rear of a home theatre system. Pair them with Mission's 703s and you won't be disappointed. Similar Products Used: polk audio, b&w... |

Strength:
I like the gihs of this speaker not too bright but not too sharp as to hurt your hearing. I like the relitively small size of the speakers
Weakness:
wheres the bass? If your looking for a wall shaking speaker look elsewhere, although when I pump this guy with about 70 watts its begins to gain some bass. Takes some time to find good placement. I really love this speaker it gives outstanding highs and mids and my dual 8" yamaha sub takes care of all the rest. This speaker is suprisingly heavy for its apperently extremely small size. I got these buds for 100$ with shipping and I consider that to be a great deal for what I got. |
