Strength:
Solid sound; slim design; part op 7xx series (for Home Theater)
Weakness:
Sound of middle (voices) skinny Good speakers which I bought for my study and probably as a basis for a Home Theater set. Sound quality was OK and even perfect compared to the $210 (set-price!) paid. Similar Products Used: B&W CDM1SE |

Strength:
Bass, looks
Weakness:
need to be placed well, i.e. not in a bedroom used with a cinema system comprising of a mission 73centre and mission 760i rears theres enough bass so as you dont need a subwoofer. Brilliant cinema sound speakers which do a fine job with music too. when caught with whether to go for cinema sound or musical the 702e's cross both rather well with no complaints. Strength:
Excellent, clear sound.
Weakness:
I dont know... Ideal loudspeakers for instrumental music, especially for stringed instruments (with my JVC BX-A562 amplifier and JVC XL 178 CD). Excellent price. But what does it mean: "Made in Europe" on the back of loudspeakers? I bought the loudspeaker here in Slovakia at official MISSION dealer for 12000 Sk, what is around 272 US$. |

Strength:
cohesive sound, good presence, well built
Weakness:
boom when to close to walls/corners, drive units rather low down, take a while to reach their best Wasnt too impressed when I first got these, treble was thin and too soft, the midband hazed over all the detail. After significant playing in time however, i have been most impressed by the clarity and depth of sound which they can produce. Nice tight bass at high volumes. Strength:
Smooth. Saxophones and other instruments don't sound grating or fatiguing on this speaker.
Weakness:
Just slightly soft sounding in treble range, but not with all material. I replaced some Paradigm Mini-Monitors with these Missions because of concerns of our baby knocking them off stands and injuring himself. The Paradigms are brighter and maybe it's just that I was used to that. I am using this speaker with a Mirage bipolar sub. The blend is excellent. In spite of Mission's design philosophy, I still think the tweeter is placed a little low for a floor stander and this may contribute to its mellower sounding high end. But overall, they are very natural sounding, for both music and home theatre. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Mini-Monitor |

Strength:
Refined warm sound.
Weakness:
Tweeters are too low. Need a stand or you have to sit on the floor. This review is premature as I havent fully broken in the speakers yet. However I was adding these to my home theatre system that consisted mainly of Yamaha products. It have awful sound for music with poor instrument placement and there seemed to be a gap in the upper base. Now with the missions my cds have come to life. These speakers were very good value at 160/pair at ubid. I dont think for the money I could get such a balanced sound. FOr music that go much lower than 50hz I use my Yamaha subwoofer. But I dont have to. I have bi-wired the speakers but for some reason preferred the sound with the single pair to each speaker. Similar Products Used: Tested out some JBL studio monitors |

Strength:
Highs
Weakness:
Bass I bought these for my bedroom AC-3 system. They have crisp highs but the mid bass is rather weak. I ended up trading out the speakers from my family room system which consists of Klipsch KSB 2.1 for the fronts. The Klipsch's have far better bass. When I refer to bass I mean anything over 80Hz as I also have a subwoofer in my setup. For about the same money I say go with the Klipsch's. The Klipsch's might end up costing more if you add in the speaker stands. Similar Products Used: Klipsch KSB 2.1 |

These 702e's are I suppose a medium sized floor standing speaker, rated at 150 watts, 8 ohm impedance, & are also Bi-wireable. I have these about 1 month & I think the world of them, they were £230 IEP (Irish pounds -about +20% for USD) They are recommended for dance & rock music, but I find as a practicing musician they sound very lively in my system giving the bass an air pressure level that sounds to me like a very well engineered live setting. However, this dose not mean that the bass is overblown in fact it is not, but strikes me as 'real', what one should expect from good hi-fi, the higher notes are equally represented, neither harsh or grating, but sonorous & well presented, For the money they are unbeatable. I have a sony TAF 920 amp rated at 65 watts into * ohms however I rarely turn it beyond the 10 o' clock position, the speakers are kicking well before that, listen to Jeff buckley & the speakers sing...the hats played by stuart copeland (the Police) are tight & focused a pleasure to behold. If you do purchase these speakers I hope you enjoy them as much as I do (I use a marantz KI sig. 63 CD & A sony JB920 Minidisk as well) |
