Strength:

I came over the rosewood mission 750 limited edition. After upgrading my garage with Office and living room, I was looking for a good stereo setup for my computer. I tried floor standing m73i and m74i, but after trying the 750 LE i tossed the big ones out. I use it with a smaller active subwoofer, and the clarity, naturalness, details are just hitting my ears with a smile 👍

Weakness:

For the price and size. Absolutely none!

These speakers are beautiful looking and sound very transparent. The sound is clear and dynamic. I bought a pair of these about a year and a half ago for $388(US). I use these for CD'S and for movies. If your looking for a good speaker with a sound that is not too bright like many american made speakers, buy these!

Strength:

Very natural sounding, truly wonderful midband, reasonable bass if well positioned. Excellent value for money.

Weakness:

Inevitable lack of low bass extension. Works best on a stand and with small/midsize rooms. Requires good amplification due to relatively low sensitivity.

Bought these back in 1999 from Frank Harvey after 5 hours of auditioning and never regretted the purchase. Although limited edition some dealers still have them in stock.

The sound signature of these speakers can be described as follows. Open and fluid midrange, wonderful with classical, vocals and live music, not so good for rock and about average for pop. Lack of bass extension means dance music better avoided. Trebles are about average but they do blend well with midrange. Overall 750LE tend to be neutral sounding and provide fairly accurate reproduction of recorded material.

Some points to consider. 750LE need proper burn-in. To improve bass put speakers on a quality stand and use oak cone feets or just any feets. Position away from the walls. I found bi-wire to be inferior to single run probably because of my amp. When bi-wired bass improved slightly but everything else suffered. Exchanging gold plated links for Kimber jumper leads does help to get better depth and dimension. Best used with a "neutral" or warm sounding amp. To improve things even further upgrade your mains cables and unit stands. You will not believe what these speakers can deliver :-)

Would recommend the speakers to anyone with a small room, small budget (up to UKP 400-500 for components), passion for live and classical music and who can put up with a lack of low frequency bass extension.

My pair of Mission 750LE are used with:
Budget Cyrus stands
Naim NACA White speaker cables (single run)
Kimber 4TC jumper leads
NAD C320 integrated amplifier
QED QNECT2 analog interconnects
Musical Fidelity X-ACT (DAC) + X-PSU
Kimber D-60 digital interconnect
Musical Fidelity E61 CD player (transport)
Russ Andrews HC PowerKord on all units
Russ Andrews Oak Cone feets on speakers, cd player, and amp
Total value with actual prices around UKP 800-900

I have used and listened to many, many loudspeakers. My reference is Dunlavy IV and Audio Physic Virgos and B&W Silver Signatures. While system match is important, the Mission 750LE are in a very unique class of speaker. There is no doubt in my mind (and ears) that they are in the same league as the above mentioned Dunlavy IV, Audio Physic Virgo and the Silver Signatures. While not quite what these speakers are and do, the Mission 750 LE are in their league.
They simply beat things like: Pro Ac, Almost all other B&W,
Audio Physic caladras and the audio physic bookshelf, vandaersteen 1, 2, and 3. I have also owned ACI (SaphireIII which are an unbeleivable speaker - these I also highly recommend you can buy them on the web, search ACI) While Mission 750LE speakers are now unavailable for new purchase, a used pair at $1000 is a steal. They fall into that unique category of speaker that really delivers the 'real thing" the Stereophile "A" sound. For those of you
who own a pair, you know what I mean.

I first demo'd the 750LEs in the listening room at my local dealer last year and went in with the cynical pre-conceptions about what people say about 'mid-range' speakers. 2 months ago I took the plunge and haven't looked back. My system is primarily Arcam, with an Alpha 7R and 8P amps providing bi-sourcing for the Mission speakers. Clarity of the bass from just about any kind of music I put over it is outstanding - for the trebles it feels like my ears have just been syringed. They sound like a £1000 pair and are a vast improvement on my old Wharfedale Delta 50s.

I had to hunt around for the 750's (they're discontinued) but be sure its well worth it.

Strength:

Clear, natural sound

Weakness:

Not much bass

Bought them used for 200 bucks, which I thought was a good deal.Very good speakers, with a clear natural sound. They are small in the deep bass departement though, but you cant expect too mucy with these small speakers.

I think they are a hit together with a good sub. Compared too my NHT 2.5, the imaging and clearness of sound is even better, while the dynamics don´t match the NHT.

If you can get a hand on a pair, buy them!

First of all, these speakers are beautiful. The 750's come in three different wood finishes - Rosewood, Black Ash and Primavera. However, from what I understand the Black and the Primavera are only available in Europe.
More importantly, these speakers sound amazing. I've never heard close to the 750's seperation and clarity for this price range ($500/pr.) At first, I was hesistant about using bookshelves as my main speakers, but these sounded remarkably better than any <$700 towers. (Boston, Infinity, PSB, Klipsh, JBL, Paradigm)
Some may whine about the lack of bass, if this is a problem check out your nearest Cerwin-Vega dealership.

Overall, a fantastic speaker.

I have a pair of these speakers hooked up to an Arcam 8 SE and Arcam 8/8P amp, The first things that struck the ears is that these speakers is really amazing, sweet sounding and has one of the clearest midband around. At 250 pounds a pop , I fell that it is one of the best budget speakers around. Nevertheless, the treble does goes a bit harsh, abeit played loud, and the bass eventhough punchy, just sounds small, compared with my friends Jamo Concert 8, at least an octave lower, but nevertheless, a excellent buy.
