I have a nice pair for sale with minimal wear and tear if any. I can send pictures. These things are beasts and too big for me and my little family and too many kids who will puncture and ruin these sweet speakers.

These speakers are amazing and can handle a ton of power. I am trying to downsize and am willing to sell my pair. They have very little use on them. They have never been playing loud for extended periods of time. I've only turned thme up to show my friends. They were rarely used for music. Mostly used for watching movies so them have little playing time overall. Please contact me at rideakawasaki@gmail.com if you are interested in purchasing. |

I have a pair I might be willing to sell. I loved these speakers, they rocked the house during many a party!!! We could crank them up and watch the lights dim in the entire house during long drawn-out 808 bass beats! I remember opening up the patio doors and throwing the football up an down the block in the UWMilwaukee area, you could hear it no problem. Those were the days. I was holding on to them in case I ever got a garage/ shop. Make me an offer.

I agree with everyone who posted a review on these! Awesome sound for what these speakers are. Yes they DO rock the house nicely! So here's the cool part of my story. I was sitting' at home one day about 3 years ago, when my girlfriend calls me and says that I "have to come and check out these speakers". I said "where you at"? She said "I'm at Goodwill." "O.K., I'll be right over." She says: "NOW"! So I jet over there and see this pair of towers sitting there, with her at the guard. I said "nice", and proceeded to pull a grill loose. Hmmm . . . MTX AAL 2230. "What do they want for 'em"? I ask. She says "$7 each." Need I say more?

These speakers are insane! The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of 5 for overall is due to their insatiable appetite for power. Who can provide 600 watts to these monsters? I was told, on good authority, that MTX decided one day to throw 2 car audio 12" woofers in a huge box with a mid and horn and sell them as home audio, which would explain their ridiculous power consumption. That being said, I am powering mine with a Harmon Kardon AVR-635 ("75" watts per channel, msrp $1300) and these beasts will make pictures go crooked! The water in a glass 15ft away looks like an ocean it vibrates so much.

I purchase a pair of these speakers on craigslist last year. And let me tell you these speakers pound the bass! They have more output than any other mtx or cerwin vega speakers I've ever heard and that includes all their bigger models with 15" woofers. I had a pair of DCM -KX212's which these put to shame in terms of sheer output at much lower power levels. If I turn these up to half power they will shake my entire apartment VIOLENTLY. The sound pressure levels these speakers can create is awe inspiring. I am currently powering them with a 150 watts per channel onkyo TX-NR 1000 receiver. I also can biamp two channels and run them at 300 watts and these things will shake everything at 20% power.

Strength:
These speakers handle any volume with no loss in sound quality.
Weakness:
They are big. With this quality, that is not a weakness, though. I was lucky to find these speakers. I have had them for ten years with no problems. They have been hooked to a Technics SA-GX650 Home Theater receiver the whole time. They sound as good as the day I bought them. I love it loud and my neighbors love these speakers. They sound great. If anyone has a pair to sell, I'm at SOgle@cfl.rr.com. Similar Products Used: MTX AAL 1540 |

Two 12" subs in each speaker!!! Handle 350w RMS each! They''re HUGE! Impressive looking! and most importantly, THEY SOUND F%^KING UNBELIEVABLE!
Weakness:
Heavy to move around because they''re MASSIVE! Wait a minute, that''s a good thing to when you think about it! I got these for a steal off audio-direct.com, for only $210 per speaker plus a whopping $5.00 for shipping! IT was a screw up on their part, but my gain. They took months to finally ship them to me, but it was well worth it. Now for the speakers, they SLAM... I have them running off a Onkyo TS-676 receiver which only puts out 85watts per channel, but it''s high current, so it''s the same as 150w on a normal cheap receiver. They shake everything, the walls, floors, everything on the shelves, EVERYTHING! Get these and you won''t be dissapointed. I bought them because I had MTX subs in my car which were awesome, and these are no different. They extremely well built, high quality, and guaranteed to please you. Strength:
Awesome bass response!
Weakness:
Large and Heavy, but aren't all quality speakers? I got these speakers last year for $435 for the pair out the door at ABC Warehouse, (they were marked at 600 some...I bargained with them some, and they hooked me up) and I must say that the speakers have far exceeded my expectations!! They will handle up to 300 Watts RMS, 600 peak...I am driving them with a Kenwood VR-2080 receiver, (100 WPC, 5 channels) and running it through a KE-1070 digital equalizer and I can't turn it up very loud, or else I'll be kicked out of my dorm! I am a student at Michigan State University, and I cranked em up REAL loud once (on a really bass-heavy CD)....I went 3 DOORS DOWN the hall to my friend's room, (both of our doors were shut) and we couldn't even hear each other SHOUTING, let alone talking, due to the incredibly loud, clean bass, passing through 2 other people's rooms and a number of walls from my room to his! (I got more than one complaint that afternoon!) The thing was, the speakers weren't even up to capacity yet, but I didn't dare turn them up. They could very easily have gone louder. After that, we had a number of people coming into our room just to see what could produce that level of sound! Very highly recommended! Mids and highs rock too, very clean and powerful sounding. If you don't mind 2 tall 90 pound towers in your room, then these are the ones to get. They each have 2 12 in woofers, a 5 in liquid cooled midrange, and a 2x6 horn tweeter for highs. I was previously driving them with an old Kenwood KR-V6060 (100 WPC in stereo, 70 WPC for L,R,and C and 20 watts for L and R surround) and the speakers completely rocked the house with that receiver too! They are also quite impressive looking with the fabric covers removed. Again, I couldn't be happier with the speakers. |
