When I bought these I had a H/K AVR55 with Super Ones for the rears and a Super One for the center and No Sub, I never could like the surround or Stereo 3, I felt it always sounded better just in stereo, I got a NHT Sub (10")with a MA500 amp, sounded better but was still missing something, I have many friends that agree with me.(their systems). It seems as though the rears are a waste of speakers (imho) So I dumped the Super Ones and the H/K AVR55, bought a Marantz Av600 (preamp)and bought 2 more MA500's, I use it in stereo and I am very pleased with the results, Movies, Music, whatever, it all is fantastic..Maybe the extra 70 Watts RMS made the diff...These speakers match anything up to $2000 range, the sub cranks.. Everyone that hears it can't believe what 3 speakers can put out..

I've owned my Super 2's for about 4 months now and have really enjoyed them. After a lot of review reading and research of my own, I think the S2s could very well be the best speakers in the 500 to 750 dollar range. It's a very good speaker in nearly all respects, however I haven't really had the chance to SERIOUSLY listen to them on music because I bought them for my home theatre set-up and I own a pair of KEF RDM 2s for my listening room. I'm really impressed with them on movies. Terminator 2 sounds great! The imaging and sound FX are very very good and they're only hooked up to a so-so receiver which I plan to replace. I'm sure you get the picture. GREAT VALUE!!! I can't stress it enough. Plus my girlfriend likes them!

I bought the Super2s about 6 months ago and love them and after having them and being amazed by there sound i went ahead and bought the NHT Super1s (surround) NHT VS2-A (center) and NHT SW2Pi (sub and amp) ! Running the Super2s from a CD transport/MSB digital director/MSB Link DAC/Elite VSX-05 and then from my Acurus 100x3 amp What can i say INCREDIBLE ! At $500 a pair the Super2s are worth a lot more and i would pay a lot more if needed . I highly recomend the S2s sound will amaze you !

I purchased the SuperTwo's two-weeks ago through Uncle's Stereo for 550 dollars. I previously had owned a pair of NHT 1.3A bookshelf speakers (similar to the 1.5's) and absolutely loved them. Having high expectations for the new Two's, after I pulled them out of the packaging and hooked them up to my NAD-C340 integrated, I was very disapointed. There was an annoying upper midrange glare that affected female vocals and upper strings. I thought okay, no big deal, these have to be broken in. I called NHT and they recommended that I let music play on them for a few days. I did this and after a couple of days I sat down for some serious listening. Again, I was disapointed, although the midrange glare wasn't as noticable, it proved to be annoying enough that after 5 minutes of listening to the Two's, I had a headache, commonly reffered to as listeners fatigue. (One other note on the midrange, it sounded somewhat hollow). I then played with placement of the speakers in hopes of eliminating this anomaly. No such luck. The high end was sweet, delicate, and well defined and the bass tight, defined, and quick. As far as imaging goes, I wasn't impressed, the image wasn't deep at all, although I wouldn't call the speakers forward sounding, they somewhat leaned in that direction. The soundstage didn't expand out towards the sides of the speakers and wasn't as wide as I would have hoped. In any event, for the price of 550 dollars, I would say these speakers are pretty good. Try and find a speaker that truly goes down to 35HZ like the Two's for that price!
Maybe I was expecting too much for a 550 dollar speaker, however, I just couldn't handle the midrange glare, and as a result I sold them a few days ago.
Maybe I had a defective pair of something, as I noticed the rest of the reviewers didn't notice the midrange. In any event, give the speakers a listen before you buy them, if I would have, I would have bought the 2.5i's instead of the Two's.

Bottom line, these speakers cannot be beat for the price. I paid $435 and I am in love. They are not going to shake the room with their bass and they do seem to be very sensitive to placemnet, but for pure 2-channel stereo, you can't go wrong. They are also used as my fronts in HT mode and again I couldn't be happier.

I began my search for a Music/Home Theater System many years ago, but only now have I had the funds. I must say that this continuing experience is both fascinating and fustrating, but always enjoyable. I live in a single bedroom apartment on the first floor of a three story complex. The living room/kitchen is approximately 500 square feet in volume. I would rate this room very difficult by audiophile standards. I auditioned several speakers, including the B&W 600 series, Boston Acoustics VR series, and the Klipsch Synergy series. I also have passing familiarity with Paradigm Monitor series, and various Infinity models. My musical goal was to obtain the most nuetral speakers for the money. I also required my speakers to survive several upgrades of electronics in the future. In the harsh environment of the showroom, the NHT Supertwo survived my scrutiny with flying colors. After I brought them home, they required many hours of break-in before they sounded smooth through the midrange. Note that these speakers do not forgive bad recordings in the slightest. This includes movies, so I would recommend that you use receivers/surround processors with a THX Re-EQ feature or a variant of it (I currently use a Denon AVR-3200). While bright rock recordings do not shine through this system, just about everything else I listen to does; including rock music which was recorded well. Full orchestra is particulary impressive. I must confess that NHT 6 1/2" downfiring woofer is not a replacement for a sub, but in my small room, it's adequate for now. These speakers definitely benifit with better electronics than I use, but that means I don't have to upgrade them continually. I like there tonal balance, and when I finally add a sub, things are going to be just fine. The way things are in the music world right now, I would not be investing thousands of dollars in processors that will be obselete in a few years (unless your rich, of course). For me, the NHT's live up to their hype. However, I would not recommend them to people who like warm sounding, British-style speakers (PSB's would be their anti-thesis). Further, I would not recommend them to people with large rooms who listen at high volume. Anything over 80-85db is simply too much for them. For anyone else, though, you can't go wrong. Happy listening.

My wife and I auditon these speakers and we both agreed that they sounded HORRIBLE! Absolutely no bass, leaned extremely to the bright end.For someone that has a good sub woofer these might be ok, but look around. There are definitely better speakers at a lesser price than these available.

Beautiful.
Now I have to buy a new receiver, as these made my oldie (and I thought goodie!) sound like a giant turd stain.

I'm sure that foo-foo audiophiles will find something to hate about them because they're cheap and mainstream. Best I've found for the price, by far.

Best sounding and best looking floorstanders I could find for the price (I paid $650). I considered the Paradigm Monitor 5 but ruled them out because they were only 33 inches tall. At 39 inches, the SuperTwos are an ideal height, and the piano black finish looks great. NHT supplies a SpikeKit consisting of two stabilizer bars, which must be used to avoid damaging the downward-firing subwoofer on the bottom of the cabinet. [I suspect a previous reviewer reporting "no bass" auditioned them without the SpikeKit!] Optional rubber tips for the SpikeKit make it easy to position the speakers without scratching my hardware floors. It was an easy decision and I am very happy with them.

First of all, let me say these speakers have lived up to my expectations in every way. The NHT company knows there business. I heard about the NHT Supertwo's from my friends dad, who has all of there Reference Grade speakers. Since I am a college student with limited funds I should check out there Super Series, which is so well priced. The SuperTwo's will amaze you. They amazed me, Just to be able to hear Dave Matthews on these speakers is reason alone to buy them. I turn on Dave and just sit there. Sounds come out of those things that I 've never even heard on other systems. Only downside to the Sonic Clarity and imaging of these speakers is if the recording is of low quality, you'll know it within about 5 seconds if you have a 1st grade education. I am very happy with my purchase
