The Superzeroes are really very decent pair of speakers. It will give you the oppurtunity to listen to what high end audio is all about without spending ridiculous amount of cash. Expect natural sounding treble and midrange and very convincing imaging including DEPTH with these little ones. DO NOT expect BASS as these speakers WHERE DESIGNED NOT TO PRODUCE ANY BASS.
I am using a YAMAHA AX-570 with 100watts/channel and the superzeroes are very happy with what's driving them. They also do a great job with home theater, portraying the ambience very well. However, despite the reviews that i've read regarding my amp and these speakers as BRIGHT sounding, together - they're not!

If you listen to any type of music, these speakers will not disappoint you although you will have to choose your amp very carefully.

highly recommended!!!

I used to be disappointed with these speakers, but now I enthusiastically recommend them. They are not forgiving speakers, and system matching is
essential, which is what I discovered. They used to be greatly overrated
in my mind, because I set up the exact system Corey Greenberg raved about,
including the SW2P, NAD 304, and custom passive filters, etc. What I heard
was very lean and non-musical. It was accurate and dynamic, but I didn't
want to listen to music (though watching T2 was great). I sold them and
didn't think about them again. But what brought me back was their small
size and the fact that they weren't ported. That meant I could easily position
them around the room for HT. I got another pair a few weeks ago, and now
I am singing a different tune. I would not use an NAD amp for these speakers.
They require better amplification, or at least different amplification. I had
tried Adcom 535II and B&K ST-140, which are very different kinds of amps, but
neither worked well. The Adcom was harsh and the B&K slow, which are the
negatives of those amps themselves. So, the SuperZeros are very revealing.
I then got an Audio Innovations Also integrated, which is a beautifully made
British integrated with the sweetest sound at that price point. The SuperZeros
sound...well, sweet with this amp. Yes, they lack bass, but at least they
don't try to fake it. But in an office system, the lack of bass becomes a
plus! No, they aren't going to replace anyone's floorstanders, and I would
suggest casual listeners like myself to mate them to the NHT SW1P, and not
the SW2P or SW2Pi or SW3P, because the latter require more audiophile sweat,
which I don't have that much of. Imaging is fantastic, as well as clarity.
Highly recommended for humble purposes.

I had been using the NHT Superzeroes as my mains for about 5 months and then upgraded to the 2.9's. The superzeroes are now used as rear surrounds and they just simply sound fantastic. Even as mains paired with a M&K MX-125 sub, these speakers just sounded terrific. I am surprised that anyone could say that for this price the superzero is not a great deal. They sound more transparent than any speaker I have heard at this price point; and if you have heard a better speaker for this price, you still cannot say that speakers do not perform exceptionally well for their price. This forum seems to have turned into a competition between speakers by biased individuals defending their purchases. As far as RATING these speakers on a scale of 1 to 5 (not comparing to others), I give these speakers a 4 for performance and 5 for value. Associated equipment:Classe CAV150, Classe SSP-25, CAL CL-10, w/ Nordost flatline and black knight interconnects.

Great speakers, but they don't have a hint of bass. Step up to the NHT SuperOnes and you'll be happy. They don't cost that much more. For the price, nothing can match the SuperOne and SuperZero's clarity. My current setup in the NHT SuperTwos, a SuperOne for the center, and two SuperOnes for the rear. Even though the SuperTwos go down to 35hZ, I got a Def. Tech. PF15TL sub.

If you're looking for an affordable home theatre system, consider three NHT super-ones, two super-zeros for satellites, and an Energy ES-8 (or 10 or 12) subwoofer. For around $900-$1000 (or less if you can get good deals) for all the speakers, it's really a tough setup to beat. It will fill up a room a bit better than the Energy Take-5 system, and sounds much better than similarly priced systems from JBL, Yamaha, etc... You won't find yourself saying, "ah, I shoulda bought...". You'd have to spend well over $2000 to do better, IMHO. Great Home Theatre, plus the added bonus of great sounding stereo music - which is where most of the small economical "complete" systems really fall short.

A little over 1 year ago I posted my review of the NHT SuperZeros on this board. I am happy to report that I am still in love with my NHT's. As I continue to buy new albums and new DVDs, I am still amazed at the great sound I get.
Just last night we had my office Christmas get together at my home, and my guests were so surprised at the sound they heard! They could not believe their ears as they looked at the small superzeros. And yes... they do need a sub. My choice of the NHT SW3P still gives me plenty of satisfaction.

If you are looking for an inexpensive but great little speaker, do give the superzero a chance. But remember, they were never intended to put out low frequencies, so match them to a good sub. I have heard the superones, but have not intention of replacing my superzero's.

I do have a pair of NHT 1.1's in my bedroom, driven by an older 35 watt/channel Harman Kardon receiver, and they also sound great (no sub there). Picked those up on a trip to Miami. Happened to go by the now defunct Incredible Universe and they were clearing out their NHT inventory. I was lucky to find a pair of NHT 1.1 for an incredibly low $160, I wished I had bought all three pairs left!

My thanks to Ken Kantor for creating products that have given me such great joy!

PS. I continue to use my Onkyo 919. It is a great receiver, and though the 919 has been replaced by the 939, it is now a great bargain. OneCall has some units left and are selling them with a Technichs Dolby Digital/DTS decoder for under $1,100, a really, really, good price! Check them out at www.onecall.com and look for their current home theater specials, right off their home page.

I don't have a lot of room, so I'm looking at buying either B&W 302's or the Super Zeros. Without a sub, I thought two b&w 302's as fronts sounded better than NHT Super Zero's. But I question what to pair them with to finish off a mini home theatre setup. I know I could buy the matched cc3 (center speaker), but I don't want to buy a second pair 302's for the rears and don't know which sub to get.
Is there a moderately priced sub and rears/surrounds that match well with 302's in front? If not, 5 Super Zero's and an NHT SW1P powered subwoofer would probably do quite well!

After a long search for the best, cleanest-sounding bookshelf, I picked the Superzero's. They sound very crisp, clear, and remarkably detailed. They blew away anything in the $600+under price range from Bose, Cambridge Soundworks, Polk Audio, Boston Acoustics, Energy, Infinity, and many others. This is meant to be a satellite speaker, so it is not supposed to produce bass. If you dont have a sub and dont plan to get one, go for the SuperOne's. But if you do have a sub, and are looking for the best bookshelf speaker for the money, the SuperZero's are it.

As most people have stated below, these little ones are really GREAT speakers, for both their size, and price. And yes, like most people have stated, they do need a sub added on for the bass.
I have setup SuperZero's as FL/FR, SuperZero Xu as Surrounds, a NHT VS 1.2a as center, and a Paradigm PDR-10 as a sub. Playing off a Denon 1700/Pioneer 414 DVD currently.
After going to the specialty stores and looking around spending many hours and days just listening to both home theater and music, I just don't think you can get any system for the size or price any better. The sound is clear, full surrounds, and definetly fills a room (Denon 5-channel stereo mode). My SO didn't want big bulky speakers taking up room, and I can tell you, they are easily put anywhere. Friends have come over, and they want to trade in their Bose's, their Cerwin Vegas and their JBL's.
The step up SuperOne's and SuperTwo's are out as well (little more expensive, of course :-) but extend down into more bass and fuller (of course, they're bigger).. but the Zero's + Sub combo will do you good, especially if you're starting out.
Sometimes, believe it or not, me and my SO have thought they're too good, as we're even able to pick out the imperfections of recording and such on some of our old CD's (when played through the pioneer), and just the other day, we were watching In the Line of Fire, that in a scene where a bullet fired, it not only made her jump, our pet jump, but my mother jump in the kitchen adjoining the room.

I found one place that I can get pair of superzero for $168. I listen to it and kind of like it, but I don't know if this is the best prize I can get for them, Could somebody tell me?
