Strength:
Incredible imaging, decent mids, solid bass. Nirvana Live in NY should be a requisite testing CD, I heard stuff on these speakers I haven't heard in 10 years with other rigs.
Weakness:
They can be pricey, don't be taken to the cleaners! Heavy, but that is almost a product of the construction which for mine is very good. I can certainly understand how people can get riled up when dealing with a company like International Stereos or other places that do the Nuance dance, they can come across shady and certainly pushy. Here's the deal though if you don't want to be involved with those places don't patronize the place. Personally I almost revel dealing with these guys, it's fun going back and forth and then sticking it to them. I had a good go with a guy on some Baby 2's when I bought my HK amp just after Boxing Day (I screwed them into a price match that expired and saved $300). He wanted $1200 for these things and I wasn't willing to spend more than $800 on them. We couldn't get together on the price (around $100 off), I eventually just took my HK and that was it. I came back in yesterday and they had some Demo Nuance 4.4's in stock. My friend had some some reading and heard they were good so we got the guy to plug them in. Just listening to a regular burned CD (not Qsound) we were blown away. The sales guy let me do whatever I wanted in there, I unplugged every speaker in the place, set the reciver to surround off, played whatever track I wanted and the imaging on these things was amazing. The sound field they project is second to none and I can say that I have in fact gone and listened to several different mid to high end units in the past month to two months and they can't touch these speakers. They are used but they still sound incredible, a perfect compliment to my HT. Similar Products Used: Pioneer, PSB, Polk |

Strength:
Rich Powerful Sound, ten year warrenty, ugrade and the reputation (funny how every body that's got em loves em)
Weakness:
Plain jane cabinets, Pricey (better than what I got so gonna suck it up) Let me start by saying that I just picked up a pair of "Baby grand 260's" and am throughly impressed. Now of course I was rattled and pushed with a bunch of see-through sales pitches but come on every major outlet does the same thing (and lets not kid ourselves if we were working with that kind of commission we'd act the same way...unless of course you hate money:)Although they are kinda expensive the quality and sound are second to none. The 10 year warranty is wonderful and the speaker upgrade is... well... pretty much the most awesome advantage to them. The cabinets are kinda crappy but the sound makes up for the plain look. Now heres the best part, for a couple a years I have built my current system up peice by peice (technics sbt-200, Kenwood Vr-406 and so on)all cash sales done over a painful year and a half... to a tune of about $4500 (I have NO CREDIT CARDS BECAUSE NO ONE CARED ENOUGH TO HELP ME ESTABLISH MY CREDIT AND GO THAT EXTRA MILE {you know who you are}...give me the benefit of the doubt.) until I came to international stereo the sales guy bent over backwards to get me credit there and for this I owe him one... because without him I would probably be listining to my current crappy stereo forever waiting who knows how long for someone to extend a little faith... cause god knows the current large WESTERN chain I WAS "repeat" WAS dealing with sure wasn't gonna do a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g!!! Strength:
full rich sound
Weakness:
very poor sales pitch and the lack of any formal pricing leaving you feel like no matter what you paid you still feel like you got screwed After reading all these reviews I have to admit that I thought for sure that I was getting ripped off. I did not yet pick up the speakers and was about to ask for my money back. Went to other electronic stores and tried out some of there products, with a price range of about 2000 for a pair of front towers. well after trying out their speakers and then returning to krazy krazy with my own music and turning down the bass a little these speakers were able to play louder and clearer than the other speakers from the other stores. Then I went home and put in the same scene from matrix they showed me at the store and compared them to my wharfdales (which I really Enjoy ) and to my amazement the nuance speakers sounded richer and fuller and for the first time i felt that my wharf's were a little bright. At the end of the day your ears tell you what you like if you like the sound buy if you don't like what you here don't buy.And as for the sales pitch everyone is right about how cheesee and slick it is. It has to be one of the worst sales picthes i have heard in a long time. |

Strength:
Amazing speaker, incredible imaging, the best value in speakers this side of the planet.
Weakness:
even slight mismanagement of speaker placement will change the effect. But unnoticable to people who do not have the ear for it. I now own a pair of Spatial Grand 3DLX for fronts, Star Grand 1SM for rears, and a Spatial Grand Cen for cen, also running with a Pioneer Elite VSX 49, and an elite dv 47i dvd player. I think my system is great, plenty of bass, and imaging that i have never herd before. The warrenty is for 10 years, tell me you can find another speaker that has a warrenty like that. On top of that, i have never seen a speaker company that lets you upgrade your speakers. I must admit that the sales appraoch could use some work, but please do not confuse the sales pitch with the product. You know, if you had a bad experence with the sales person don't blame the product. I happen to own all the "Special CDs" Roger Watters, Madonna, Eagles, and Chesky Jazz, when i asked for what the cd's were the sales people we glad to show me. Some have Q sound, some do not. the ones with Q sound do sound good on alot of speakers, but do not image the way they do on other sets. I have used Boston Acoustics VR 950, Bose 901's, Div Techs, lots of speakers. The Q sound doesn't image as well as they do on the Nuance. Try some other CD's to test the imaging if you don't believe me. Try No Doubt - Hella Good. Anything from Pink Flyod, anything from marlyn manson, heck bring your own cd's to the store. When i bought my speakers, they were more than glad to play music for me that were not demo material. I just can't belive the time people have to write bad reviews, espically when they do not own the product them selves. Do you go into a sony store and expect them to play demo dvds with horrible picture quality on their tv's or do you expect good quality pictures showing on the tvs? For that same reason the demo discs are played. It's not misleading, it's simply the best discs to use for demoinstration purposes. The Eagles isn't Q sound, nor is the Chesky Jazz, and the both image the best. I just finally got fed up with reading the stories. Get past the sales pitch, for those who own the product, you know you got a great deal, the speakers are amazing, surley not the best on the market but certainly a great value. If you have a few grand to spend on a system, Nuance will surley make you happy, cause you know in the future you will upgrade your stuff and at least with nuance you can. I love the stuff, if you have any questions or comments feel free to e mail me. Similar Products Used: uncomparable, nothing in the price range can touch a nuance speaker. |

Hey if Nuance is such a bad speaker, why is it that all the big stores like future shop, a&b sound (which I was told owns this site)are trying to get Nuance into thier stores. If thier crap, and it's just pushy salesman selling them all, then why not hire thier sales people. I cant believe how obvious this site is as a bashing site for other outlets. If Nuance were crap, nobody would give a sh**. But no you have 100 reviews in here. Lets cut the sh**, Nuance speakers sound great, so get a life. Or hey heres a better idea, build something that sounds better. Now what will happen is shortly after I post this message, some snotty little punk from one of these other stores will spout off a bunch of crap he doesnt even know about, and why? Because if he can convince you they are sh** then maybe you go buy his model of speakers, and he can go and buy that zit cream he needs. |

For the price: true musicality with no fatigue and incredible scalability to your electronics.
Weakness:
I think they look kind of boring, but aesthetics are less than tertiary to the sound and value. Nuance sounds wicked. The imaging is wide and rock-solid. The midrange on their new 360 and 260 models is liquid. I challenge any of the winy losers out there bashing this product to come into my store with their favourite CD and a comparably priced pair of speakers, and we'll A/B the hell out of them. You WILL be shamed into submission. Similar Products Used: B&W , Mirage , PSB Image series |

Strength:
great clarity, deep bass, superior strength.
Weakness:
i have not been able to find any as of yet. i just purchased a pair of spatial baby 360's. These are the newest NUANCE speakers avail. i cant belive the amount of recreation these speakers produce. i play in a band called Twith. Listening to my studio album at home, it sounds better on my new powered towers then when im at the recording studio. which just happens to be the same studio that finger eleven used to record thier first album as the rainbow butt monkeys. As for all the people out there that bash nuance on this site, they do this because they have no musical intelligence and plain and simply cant afford them. hense all the good reviews were made by intelligent people that have purchased nuance in the past. Strength:
you hear what was in the studio
Weakness:
idiots who don't know what music is suppose to sound like, trashing these Let your ears tell you what you like, mine told me these are great, I work in recording studios and was pleasantly surprised by these speakers, Nuance truly gives you exactly what we hear in the studio, if you think that q-sound recordings make a difference, try listening to your music and you will find even some hip-hop albums that are definitely not q-sound give you the same type of imaging, thats why sometimes it takes a year just to work on one song in the studio, we're working our ass off in there trying to entertain you the consumer and you constantly slap us in the face by using trash to listen to your music.
