Strength:

Crisp Clear Sound Stage

Weakness:

For the money there are none

This speaker has clarity, depth. A clean and uncolored sound. It takes about a month to burn in. When you first get a Monitor series speaker home, I suggest giving it at least that long. It will make the midranges sound more detailed and make the tweeter sound just right, detailed, crisp, and remove the harshness. After one month, you will have the perfect front-end setup to a Home Theater.

For my money, it's an investment I won't regret.

Strength:

soundstage, quality

Weakness:

lack of low end

Excellent *EXCELLENT* speakers. The look good, have an excellent soundstage, and for the money, Paradigm comes through with flying colors again. I'm getting the CC-370 in a few days to match them, and I can't wait! The Sony STR-V444 ES that I have them hooked to pushes them very well.

Very clear, good price

????

The first few months that I had these I was not fully happy with their performace. I was having trouble getting the imaging that I wanted and the lowend was very week. That all changed when I ditched my sony reciever and got my new Onkyo. They now sound awesome. I have been breaking in the new reciver running it all day with jazz or classical. I love the way piano, acoustic guitar, and horns sound on these speakers. I do agree that poorly recorded cd's or other sources like MP3's stand out on these speakers. They expose every mistake that the studio made. I now need to upgrade the rest of my center and rear speakers to get better home theater sound.

Strength:

Excellent construction, obvious care taken in design. Sound quality beats more expensive speakers I auditioned (Energy, Mirage, even Monitor 9's).

Weakness:

Can't think of anything!

These speakers are *sweet*. When I brought them home and set them up on my stereo (Yamaha RX-496) I connected them as Speaker B and left my existing 3Se's on Speaker A. I wanted to see if the $$ I'd spent was worth it...after about 10 minutes of switching back and forth from A to B there was only one pair of speakers hooked up and they've stayed there. I was concerned about the space that the Monitor 7's were going to take up compared to my old ones, no worries there, V1 were smaller than my 3Se's+Stands and with the new design they're waay smaller (in width).

Sound reproduction and imaging are excellent, I haven't yet separated the channels but the crossover supports bi-wiring and bi-amping. Bass response is excellent, nice and deep, and makes living without a sub a little easier!

I'm extremely happy with these speakers for HT and musical use. I would recommend them to anyone!

Strength:

clear midrange, crisp highs and great bass

Weakness:

none

Most of the people on this site have posted that the tweeter is a bit too brought but I don’t notice it at all.
Right now I have a basic starter pioneer receiver and I admit it’s not the best but even with the crappy receiver, these speakers sound great!!! I started my system with the pioneer HTP-209 and it was ok, I mean you have to somewhere, and since I'm only 16 the 600$ price was all I could afford. Slowly but surely I’m going to upgrade my system to the paradigm monitor series. I really like the outrigger feet and spikes, they are great. I was really surprised with the amount of bass these speakers have. I was thinking about getting the monitor 5 v.2s but when I saw the price of the stands(180$) I decided to make my own, but then I thought the monitor 7s cost 100$ more then the 5s so why don’t I get them and then I wont have to worry about getting stands. The monitor 7s sound a lot better then the 5s, you can tell the difference, so my advice is if your thinks about getting the monitor 5s with stands scrap that idea and get the monitor 7s.

These are great speakers and I highly recommend them the sound great for the price that they are!

Strength:

Clean midrange, tight full bass, efficient (pretty good @ 93db)

Weakness:

Tweeter can sound harsh(depending on related equipment)

Just purchased these babies a few days ago, and they sound great! A little harsh yet (as they have not quite broken in yet), but from past experience, the tweeter will warm up after another good 40 hours of run-in. The bass is well defined, nice 'n' tight, goes low, but does not sound bloated (like the monitor 9 v.1's did - but I suspect they should be better now since the v.2's have a different crossover). Anyways, the build quality is good (not excellent - but what can you expect at this price point?). Midrange is a little light for my taste, but not bad! If you like rock, pop, dance, country, and some jazz&blues, than these are the speakers for you! However, for vocals (and classical music too) you might want to look elsewhere. I'm a big jazz fan, so when these speakers have been properly broken in, I'm sure they'll sound much better. All in all, an excellent buy!

Strength:

Great range, small footprint, and nice pricepoint.

Weakness:

None so far, but only been using them for a few weeks.

I've finally set these up at a friend's house (don't ask why). I was plesantly surprised at how well they sounded out-of-the-box. Right now, they are connected to a bottom of the barrel Sony receiver (100w per channel) and some 16 gauge Monster Cable. Through all the different styles of music that I have thrown at it, it reproduces all of it with great musical range. I don't feel any tendencies towards the highs, just a nice flat sound.

I am looking forward to the time when these speakers settle in.

Strength:

Accurate highs, mids, nice bass.

Weakness:

taking a while to break in I think but they sound better every day.

These speakers sound great, even right out of the box. The sound is so much more deep and accurate than my old Titans (which are also a great little speaker). I think these even sound better than Monitor 9's (I was considering also).

After purchasing these I traded in my Sony amp for a Yamaha RX-V800 and musically the difference was amazing. These speakers really shine with the Yamaha, they sound awesome.

The only thing I've noticed is that the dialog on some of the DVD's I've watched is not very loud. I'm not sure if its the amp or the speakers but I think I'm going to need a center channel.

I definitely give these speakers 5 stars, I highly recommend them.

Smooth, accurate sound reproduction. Superb imaging.

Weakness:

Wow! I am hearing little nuances in my favorite music that I never heard before. These speakers sound so good, so smooth, that I am spending way too much time in my media room. My wife misses me. I built a new home and prewired a room in the basement specifically for music and home theatre,so I wanted to get some really nice speakers. I spent a lot of time shopping and auditioning different speakers with some of my favorite music CD's. I listened to Bose, JBL, Polk, Definitive, and Klipsh. I narrowed it down to the Monitor 7's and the Definitives and bought the Paradigm's on price. These sounded good right out of the box. These speakers showed me what I have been missing in my music all along. If you are looking for speakers in this price range, you will not find a better product. At 630 dollars these are a steal. After hearing the Monitor 7's in my house, I went right back out and bought a Paradigm sub, center, and surrounds.

Just like the Mini Monitor's that these speakers replaced I was completly satisfied when I bought these speakers. Like everyone says you do need to give them a month or so to break them in but once you do. Another must with these speakers is Bi-wiring. Even if you have to go with a little cheaper speaker wire to do so it is a must. I suggest AudioQuest Type+4 or CV-4 depending on electronics. Another thing is that even though they will sound great on a crappy reciever(Sony,Yamaha) they'll sound even better on a nice reciever(Integra,Marantz,Denon)but if you get a great reciever(Rotel,B&K) they sound better than you could ever imagine. I have them on a Integra 5.1 with CV-4 cable and everybody who listens to it is amazed.
Another great thing about these speakers(like the Mini's) is that they play decievingly low frequencies. When I had just my Mini's I had them crossed over a 80Hz and played everything else through my PS-1000. But with the 7's you don't even need the sub and the bass is so much clearer. I actually got mine to play a nice solid 25Hz while shaking the room. The 3 best CD's for testing these speakers is Sonic Overload by Bass Mekanik for bass. The JM lab Focal CD for music in general, and the Stereophile test cd#2 for room placement and some cool soundstaging effects.
