I live in the dorms and was looking for a pair of speakers that could shutdownmy nextroom's boom box. I finally got a used pair of paradigm titan and hooked
it up to my onkyo (txsv444) receiver and my sony playstation. I can't believe
how good it sounded. The bass extension frequency was remarkably low for a book
shelf speaker that size. The vocals and the highs are also very clear.
Now, my nextdoor's boom box sounded like my great grandfather's AM radio in
his old-old car. I give this speaker five stars

179 BUCKS ????? If anyone in the world can seriously find a better speaker in this price range please leave a suggestion! You know, the funny thing is that every time I go into an audio store the dealer is always trying to sell me PSB Alha's. I don't get it. Even in reviews the PSB's are always noted to be in the same category. They simply don't compare!!! I brought a friend in who hadn't had the opportunity to A-B them and blind folded him. 6 different Cd's and all 6 times, every single one we both picked the Titans.

I once spent $700 bucks on the 7se's and you know? they are no better than the Titans.Whatever it is that they are doing at Paradigm, they are doing it right.
If I had to place other speakers in the same category I would say the new Energy's are the only thing close, but they are almost a hundred bucks more in price.

Presently, I am considering adding a sub-woofer to my system, does anyone have any suggestions as to what goes well with the Titans?

Who would spend a $1000 on a shi**y Kenwood, Technics, or Pioneer rack system?
My entire system cost $800 and is awsome. Yamaha Rx - 395 - Phillips 5cd Changer - PARADIGM - TITANS!!!

I love these speakers. I bought it from my nextdoor neighboor for $150 and it sounds excellent. The soundstage is perfect and the bass response is out of this world. I used it as mains in my home theater setup along with jbl j-center as my center speaker. Way to go paradigm !!

for value

I purchased the Titans as mains for my Sherwood Rv4050R receiver. They served thier purpose and now I moved them to the surrounds and have Phantoms up front. the Titans are great little speakers giving bigger & more expensive speakers a good run for thier money if not sounding better.
I have read numerous reviews from different magazines and they have all givin these little power house speakers the best if not one of the best ratings for a speaker in that class.

Sound and Image rated it number 1 over the following:
Kef K-120
Phase Technology Model 335es
PSB Alpha
B&W Model 2001
Celestion Model 1
Boston Acoustics HD5
Altic Lansing Model 85
Infinity RS225
Polk M3
Cambridge Soundworks Model Six
JBL J2050
Advent Mini-Advent II
NHT Super Zero
AR M.5
and so on

I needed a pair of main speakers for the home theater in my house. My wife does not like the clutter of big speakers so we compromised for a cheap bookshelf speakers. Anyway, my buddy recommended me to try out the Paradigm Titans and I was really impressed. It produces clean and almost very clear sound from such a small speaker. I connect it to my carver preamp/amp system. Watching "Independence Day" have never been the same. My wife loved them too. The combination of low price and space saving is irrisistible for her too. Two of my friends who visited me were amazed and on the same day purchased the titans of their own.

Got a pair of these little suckers as demo model for 160 here in PR. They are mighty loud! At the store (Speaker Warehouse in Rio Piedras), the bass was already deep and shook the carpeted floor, and when i tried them at my tiny room (concrete walls), i had to turn the Bass setting on my Denon receiver to -3 so that they are at comfortable level... they have amazing clarity and with a fan and air conditioner running, they still sound crips.
I had great trouble deciding between PSB Alphas and these Paradigm Titans, but since i am a penny pincher, i sided with the Titan albeit their larger size and "used" condition.

The Titans were the first speakers I ever bought and for only $149.99 CDN you just can't go wrong. I now use them as rear-channels in my theater and they continue to surprise me every time I hook them up as my mains. Thumbs up to Paradigm. Another great Canadian speaker company!

I have had the Titans for about a year now and am still inpress with their performance. The highs are clear and the bass response is more than adequate for most applications(HT or Music). I am using them as surrounds to complement my fronts and center(Monitor 7s and CC150 respectively). They produce a large soundstage for their size with accuracy and clarity. A friend of mind was interested in buying a pair of speakers for their home theater and wanted to audition the speakers I was using in my system. They had never heard of Paradigm so the test was unbiased. . I placed the Titans on top of my mains and let him listen to a few "cuts" from the Erika Badu cd. The result was he was very hard pressed to tell which set of speakers wewe playing. When I told him the Titans were playing he could not believe it. The give away was that the Titans did not produce enough bass but what there was was good. When I added my sub (Mirage 12inchedr) he was throughly impressed. If you are looking for a good sounding bookshelf speaker the Titan can't be beat...by anybody. IMHO Paradigm makes outstanding speakers that can compete with any other speakers in their price class. Admittedly there are better speakers out there such as DynaAudio(which will by my next and final speaker upgrade) but you'r going to pay a heck of a lot more for them. Until them I am and will continue to enjoy my Titans and other Paradigm speakers. I'll then give the Titans to my son so he can have a good start building his system.

To make the point about the Titans...approximately 24 out ot 31 reviews including mine were 4 stars or better. We all can't be wrong or deaf!!
