Strength:
Unbelievable bass for a speaker this size.
Weakness:
None that I've seen Did you ever try using these speakers without a sub. I think you'll be amazed at the depth of the bass reprouction of these tiny dynamos. What truly amazed me was the quality and tonal balance of these speakers. Combine them with a cs245 center, RT15's as surrounds and a PSW650 subwoofer and you've got a system that will make all your friends want to "polk their eyes out !!!!" Wonderful little speakers. I don't know why they're not a Stereophile recommended component; they're certainly much better than a lot of their recommendations near the same price point. |

I bought these speakers to use as rear surround speakers for my digital receiver. I used them as front speakers briefly just so I could hear how they sound. I was impressed with the sound of the speakers, although I wasn't as impressed as I was when I bought my Polk S6's several years ago from Crutchfield on closeout. The built in wall mount bracket came in handy when I put them up on the wall. Overall, I like the speakers, but they could be a little cheaper than $250/pair (Circuit City). Four stars. |

I purchased these speakers because a friend of mine suggested them. I use them as surrounds, run RT35i's for my front speakers, with a CS 245i for my center. SMOO-OO-OOth. For a total system under 1500 bucks, you can't go wrong with polk. Smooth, clear sound that doesn't distort at loud volumes. My whole system consists of an ONKYO TSDX 545 receiver, Polk CS245i Center, Polk RT 35i mains, Polk RT 25i Surrounds, Cerwin Vega LW-12 powered sub. I really like the Cerwin Vega too. Total system cost on ebay....about 1300$. For that money you can't beat it! |

Strength:
Right size for small space
Weakness:
None yet based on what I bought it for This is a great small speaker! I tested out the Bose 201's and 301's but after hearing these there was no question... (can never figure out whey I keep listening it Bose). I am using them in my bedroom so I can continure listening to music "after-hours". I have B&W CDM7's in my living room and while there is a huge difference it is still nice to retire to my dedroom and still hear my music played faithfully to the recording... I got these on e-bay and they are new... |

Very, very satisfying speakers. Very clear and detailed without sounding too bright. |

Weakness:
Any for the price First I have to say I got the RT25i, an update from the RT25, but there are not in these web pages so I have to put my reciew here. I read the Stereophile´s September 2001 issue about these speakers and that moved to me to hear them and buy them...awesome! Almost as precise as the Super Zeros in the treble and mid treble region and very natural on mids but with much more mid bass that will satisfy many listeners without using a subwoofer. In fact, they are remarkably superior to the RT25. They sound great with my NAD 750 A/V receiver, my Parasound HCA 1000A amp and my old Fisher X 100 A tube integrated amp, being really revealing speakers with good CDs as Eric Clapton Unplugged or Béla Fleck Perpetual Motion. You have to be very carefully with the aluminium dome tweeter as it is too delicate and does not have any front protection more than the removable fabric grill. Surely one of the best speakers you can get under $1000. Similar Products Used: NHT Super Zero, Boston CR6, Boston VR950 |

Strength:
Well detailed, strong bass considering its size, good imaging capabilities, great quality finish.
Weakness:
Considering the price, none Overall, a great little speaker for not a lot of $ (paid 135 for an open box pair). I was surprised at the bass extention for such a little speaker. They image quite well, and have a well detailed treble. I use them as surrounds, and they provide a nice eveloping sound field, with good integration with my mains, which cost 5x the price. A great value. These speakers have made a Polk fan out of me. Similar Products Used: Mirage, Energy |

Strength:
perfect budget speakers: musical and detailed
Weakness:
no bass, doesn't play loud, not sure if it takes banana plugs I love these little Polks, they do everything a budget monitor should. They are musical, detailed, and present a great soundstage. I A/B them with my Triangle Zephyrs and the Polks lost out a bit on detail, bass, and sound quality when playing loud. Similar Products Used: NHT SuperZeroes |

Strength:
greatimaging, good soundstage, very good on vocals and in the mid range.
Weakness:
bass- but gives a decent amount of bass for its size had a pair of celestion 3's that i really liked. thay were blown out by my teenagers playing the stereo too loud. needed a new set of apeakers. listened to the dt pro monitor 80's and 100's. the polks sounded better all the way around--not as harsh or bright as the def techs. the paradigms seemed boomy and cheaply made. the polks play a little louder and are smoother than the celestions. the polks have more bass than the celestions and image as well. the celestions were slightly more neutral and detailed. overall, the polks are as good, if not better, than the celestions. the review in the september edition of stereophile provides a good description of the polks. overall a very good buy for $200 and a speaker worth checking out if you are in the market for a small bookshelf speaker.
