Strength:

Got a new pair for $250 at Good Guys. How can you beat that?

Weakness:

Now I have two pair.

Just picked up a second pair at clearance for $250 brand new. I'll probably put in in storage until I see a need for them. Great sound for a great price.

Strength:

Good build quality, Great soundstage when setup properly, great value

Weakness:

They huge for bookshelfs and too small for floor standers so they need very study and wide stands to sound their best.

In my opinion this is the polk speaker to buy, if your going to buy Polk. The upper models (aside from maybe the 3000's) don't sound as good as these. They have more bass because they are powered but hey save some money and buy a sub. The only thing I think that I may not like about these is there seems to be no midbass with many Polk speakers but these suffer less from this than the other models IMO. They are a great value for the money and the build quality is better than most speakers in this range and even higher. Compared to say Infinity they are More Foward sounding but offer better imaging IMO and less mid bass. They are better sounding than many speakers that are more pricey.

Strength:

please see below

Weakness:

none so far

I see people complaining about BASS on
the RT55 and also B&W 602. Probably they have
some junky receiver. I auditionied the polk
audio rt55 at circuit city. Once I played from
onkyo (dont know the model) and then on Harman Karton
(dont know the model and pardon my spelling).
With onkyo there was ZERO BASS. With Harman Karton
there was a world of difference. I also tried
the floor standing speakers by Polk Audio (again
pardon me for not knowing the model), I liked
the RT55 better. I havent yet brought them
for home auditioning.

I guess the B&W 602 has a better deeper bass than
RT55. I can only confirm when I bring the RT55's
and play it on the same receiver that I have
at home (Yamaha HTR-5240).

so I will come back with more reviews later
