Listener fatigue sets in with these speakers. I now own a pair of Magnapan 10.1's which I prefer. I tried to make a post for PSB 600i seperately but the Web site incorrectly made a post for PSB 6i.
I bought the speakers mail order without auditioning them based on favorable reviews here and elsewhere. I bought them from Stereo ABC for $449.00 plus $60.00 shipping. They were delivered promptly to my door by UPS. I was very excited to finally own a pair highly regarded speakers. I hooked them up to my Denon receiver and was disapointed with the sound immeadiatly.
I decided that this must be because the weren't "broken in" yet so I played my stereo for 24 hours a day for 3 months waiting for the sound to improve.
That never happened. I was so disapointed with these speakers. My old Bose AM 5's sounded better than these speakers. ( I have a post for the Bose AM 5's here on this web site. One of the few favorable posts.)
I lived with these speakers for 3 months. I stopped listening to music. I made a post for selling these speakers for $300.00 on this web site and on usenet. Nobody wanted to pay for shipping. Another disapointment. I was stuck with these speakers.
I called up a local hifi dealer to see if I could trade these speakers in for some Magnaplaner speakers, which I had heard on an earlier visit. He was kind enough to make me a deal on a demo pair of 10.1's. We hooked up my 600i's next to a comparable pair of Energy brand speakers ( I don't know the model number, but the retail price was $599.00).
The Energy speakers sounded much better than my PSB's. The dealer agreed. He had been contemplating bringing the PSB brand into his store but now he wont do that.
Buyer beware. Audition first.

I auditioned the 600i in my bedroom (10'x12') with a Marantz PM-57 integrated ampa and CC-57SE CD player. I was impressed, especially since I spent the last month listening to many speakers up to the $1500 range. They were very clear in precise in the highs and mids. The bass was also very quick, and accurate, although the very low bass was a little lacking. The sound stage and imaging was very good, and the speakers blended very well. Overall, I give a very good review, especially considering the price ($600 list). Being a fan of hard metal, with these speakers I even enjoyed to listen to Jewel, a CD I did not take out of the box for 2 years. Female vocals are spectacular. As to classic, I listened to Ravel's Bolero 3 times in a row (39 minutes total). Anyway, definately listen to these speakers. Unfortunately the dealer did not have the 800i in stock to compare. I will look for those, because, I think, they will add a little more bass. Anyone listen to both? An easy 5 stars for the 600i. I am really pleased with the Marantz components as well, a good combination for a system under $1500.

I bought the 600i's to use them as the front speakers in my home theater because they are without a doubt the best speakers that I could find in that price range. All five speakers in my home theater are PSB's, I think their whole line of speakers is excellent.

PSB 300i to 1000i is the best bang for the buck! You well not find a better sounding speaker for the money. PSB speaker line may not coast a lot, but they are designed to sound better with a top of the line amp. NOT a mass market amp(Denon,HK,yam, ect,).

I recently upgraded my home theater's main speakers and bought the psb Century 600i's to replace a pair of Advent Legacy III's and what a difference! The imaging and soundstaging is exceptional and even after hours of listening I experienced no fatigue. If they have any weakness it's a lack of really DEEP bass, but still solid and quite acceptable. Everyone in the family played their favorite cd's (country, rock, new age, hip hop, rap) and were equally impressed. I've also recently upgraded from DPL to DD and so I'll probably be purchasing the 300i's for surrounds very soon. I bought mine mailorder (psb authorized) for $429 a pair (shipping not included) making the psb Century 600i's, what I believe is, one of the great bargains of this century!

Buying the PSB Century 600i's was one of the best decisions I could have made. They are well balanced and sound terrific, but can also deliver the goods when pushed to its' limits. I bought them form $450 Canadian ($291 US) - a fantastic deal!(Brand new, still in the box at the Sony Store)
I have these speakers integrated into a system with a PSB Century 200i in the center, PSB Century 300i's in the rear and a PSB Century Subsonic 2i for bass. One fantastic system for a grand total of $1418 Canadian ($917 US). I would like to see anybody beat this system at any price point (let alone at this price)!

I bought a pair of these speakers, and it was one of the best investments that I have ever made. I have compared them to speakers that cost 2-3 times as much as these, and the PSB Century 600i's are just as good.
Awesome!

I have owned a pair of PSB 600is for about 5 months now and am enjoying them very much. Ive read all the reviews of this speaker and thought I would put my two cents in. First of all I would like to say to anyone who listens to only heavy metal or rap these speakers arent for you. Im not saying that they wont represent this music well, its just not where they excell. They present music in a warm, laid back way. They do very well with accoustic guitar, classic rock, jazz, or anything thats very musical. I hope this helps anyone considering these speakers. They are great pair of speakers for the money and blow away any mass market speaker in their price range. I would suggest amping them with a minimum of 60 watts.

These speakers blow away any in the price range. I have them in a system with (ALL PSB Century) 200i (center), 300i (rear) and Subsonic 2i for bass. The receiver is a Sony ES30. Fantastic!

Well What can I say about PSB. speakers? one word comes to mind Excelant!!!!I have a pair of 600i, centre 200i, rear AmbiantII, SubsonicII. Excelant yes, onwith the proper system. I have a cheap pioneer prologic system 465s I bought that when i didn't know anything about Digital suround and all the high tech stuff i told myself that there would be no differance from a $2000 to a $400 system. I said to myself the speakers makes the diferance. Yes it does in a way BUT Boy was i wrong. All i wanted is to not spend big money. and thats why i basically purchased PSB at first. I was surprised how amazing music sounds through those speakers. To my ears it gives such a rich full sound that amazes me and for such a cheap price. Well as the months went buy i started to read audio magazines and started to visite audio stores for demos on surround sound and stuff. and i have learnd alot. For one thing There is a ENORMOUS differance between a $400 System and a $2000 system. You see i listend to my movies in pro logic, on my pioneer and before i started to explore the real world of suround i thought that i had a great sound. untill i heard some kick ass high end. Well i though i got riped off because i didn't get that kind of effect. You see when i listen to movies on my Pioneer system it sounds good, but everything seamed to be coming from the front. I bought a DVD and aslo purchased Super Speedway.
Now at the begining of that there is a barn seen and you see and hear chickens. Now on my system it comes out from the front. On a $2000 sytem you almost feel them plucking at your feet. now when i herd the differance i wasn't to happy. i thought that i bought lousy speakers only good for music. So i went to an audio specialist and he ask me to bring my speakers in to test them out.
And test them out on the same DVD Super Speedway. He plugged my speaker to an AMC system with seperate componants. A 5 channel amp and a surround processor with dolby digital. Well Guess what the chickens were plucking at my feet with my PSBs. I felt so happy now i knew that my problem was them System that i had.
From what i hear from some specialist is that PSBs are very demanding and you need a good system to realy benifit from them. AMC very well satisfied me. Parasound rocked also. also NAD, and Marantz. Just to tell you the system that we tested it on was hooked up to M&Ks which sound mind blowing to me. when we did the test he had a customer in the store listen to my speakers then to the M&Ks. To me M&K sounded amazing and PSBs where one notch just under. But to the other customer he loved my PSBs more then the M&Ks. HE told me and the salesrep. the it had the sound he was looking for. And that the last time he herd that sound was when he herd Definitive Tech. speakers. Well I got to say to anybody out there Who wantes PSBs to really kick some ass. You need a really good system. Or else it just sounds better then the same priced speakers. But when on A really good system PSBs sound just as good as high end speakers that usually run in the 1000nds. So if someone didn't like how PSB sounded either you have a cheap system or they are not just your taste. Now that I know what PSB sounds like on a really good system. I do not for one second regret buying them. For less then $2000 dollars i got all six speaker and if i buy a 7.1 channel system i will buy two more PSBs for the side and an extra subsonicII.
And buy the way one thing about SubsonicII it is buy far the best sub money can buy. So my friends i leave you with this tought If you don't like it don't buy it. If you do you will love it. providing that you have an excelant system.
Psb on a cheap system i rate it a 3.5 stars on a Very good system i rate it a 5 thank you. Good buy thanks for your time.
