An excellent speaker. Bought it for $1300cdn ($940 US). I'dhighly recommend it. The best one I've heard in the price |

I just purchased a pair of PSB Stratus Silvers with the C6 Stratus center channel!! I love them. I'm running them through the Parasound 1206 six channel amp. The sound is rich and with excellent tonal quality. Some problems with phleghm from the drivers. Occasionally a rattling sound eminates from the C6 with high volume. The cabinets of the Silvers are separating from the drivers, within their own realm. More often than not, I'll be watching a movie on DVD, with sounds eminating from these lovely speakers. Keep plugging away!!!! |

Strength:
Clarity.
Weakness:
Have to upgrade my center and rears to compliment the Silvers. These speakers are amazing. I literally had to relisten to my collection of CDs so I could hear what I had been missing all along. I upgraded from PSB Century 500i to the Silveri. The imaging is incredible. I was amazed at the bass response in the 2.5 way configuration. |

I purchased the silver after having the bronze, silver and gold in my home for a few days. I feel my review is accurate for my enviorment. My room is 18x25,speakers firing down long wall toward rear wall which is half brick. All speakers 8 feet apart with no toe in. I have already posted review on bronze |

Must be biwired! To the guy below who only gave 2 stars to the Silvers. Unless you biwire your Silvers with a good wire like Nordost Flatlines, the Silvers can sound as though there is a blanket thrown over them. Biwire the speakers and you will understand why the Silvers have received such rave reviews! |

These are clearly speakers that warrant far more than their asking price on every front including looks. The sound is beautifully balanced, clear and effortless, particularly in the bass regions. |

When a product I’ve heard and know to be good is trashed in the extreme, I have to believe that some other agenda is going on. In fact, an earlier comment indicates that Tony C has dropped off his trash here before. Having recently auditioned the Silvers (a very good speaker) along with some other speakers in their price range, I can attest that they hold their own very easily in that range. The Stratus Silvers have a clear sense of presence, an open airy sound, and excellent imaging. If you are considering the B&W CDM7SE’s (also a very good speaker), give the Silvers a listen also. Are they better or worse? Decide for yourself, but liking one won’t make the other bad. Come on - the Silvers being the WORST speakers in that range? Only with too many Philly cheese steaks stuffed between the ears. |

I purchased these speakers about a year ago, after listening to over a dozen speakers in the $1,000 to $2,000. range. At the time, these stood out as being the least "veiled", especially in the midrange. Since then, they have conveyed every improvement in source I have offered them. My Arcam Alpha One CD player was furst improved by adding a Music Fidelity X-ACT DAC. The sound stage improved in localization and depth, the detail improved. I added Van den Hul DM 102 interconnects. More detail and richness. I added the MSB Link DAC. Still more detail, mellowness, and impressive soundstage and inner detail in large symphonic works. Grado Platinum on a Systemdek IIX: Wonderful richness and dimension, especially on acoustic and (yes) wooden instruments. Bryston B60 amp? Takes full advantage of that musical midrange. What's next? I'm using a fairly incexpensive Prisma speaker cable (biwired, which could be improved. Would like to try added a Bryston 3B-ST to bi-amp the bottom. But no rush. These things sound great, natural, and will dutiful pass on whatever you put into them. (Oh, yeah, I claim "Audiophile status" I'm not a "Casual Listener" "Enthusiast" |

QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST SPEAKER IN THIS PRICE RANGE I HAVE EVER AUDITIONED. WEAK HIGHS, SHALLOW MIDS, AND ABSENT LOWS. THESE SPEAKERS HAD NOTHING TO OFFER EVEN THE CASUAL LISTENER. PROBABLY ON A LEVEL WITH THE BOSE 601s. THEY PRESENT NO SOUNDSTAGE, IMMAGE, OR DEPTH. I TRIED TO POSITION THEM DIFFERENTLY, I MOVED MY SEAT, I TILTED THEM BACK, ALL TO NO AVAIL. THESE THINGS CAN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO MY B&W P5s. FOR $1600.00 YOU CAN GET SO MUCK BETTER THAN THIS ITS INCREDIBLE. TRY THE SMALL THIELS, B&W CDM7SE, HALES REV 3s, OR GO USED. I CAN'T GIVE THEM A ZERO SO I SETTLE FOR 1 STAR. |

Strength:
Sound! A speaker that is never fatiguing.
Weakness:
Bass could be a little better, depends on placement. I have had these for over a year now, the original Silvers, and still enjoy them greatly. I recently added a VPI 19-MkIII w/Souther linear tonearm and AudioQuest 7000 cartridge to my system and the sounds are excellent. My main gear consists of vintage Tandberg pre-amp (3038A), amp (3036), tuner (3001A) and the excellent TDC440A cassette deck, which still records amazing tapes! The Silvers and Tandberg electronics make a good match (Tandberg sounds good through plastic cups and string). Similar Products Used: Kef's |
