I just purchased these at Best Buy for $259.98(pair), they raised the price about $20.00 from last week when they were first put on display. I like the sound very much that these speakers give. They have enough base, mid's and the highs are just that. If you want speakers that handle up to 200 watts and dont want to spend a fortune on speakers, give these a try. I am giving them 4 stars, because, there is always room for improvement in everything.

How are these speakers being offered at such a cheap price? I heard them at Best Buy but could not convince myself to purchase them for Home Theater b/c they were so CHEAP!! Great Sound!!! Any Clues as to why they are $260 per pair?

I was just goofing off one day at best buy and came across these jewels!I couldnt believe how good they are!
Because they are essentially a 6.5 inch 3 way, they have great dispersion.
The sound is open and spacious, and they are sweet up top!
They are warm and rich, not thin and bright, and they sound like music!
IMHO, they are destined for cult status!
129.00 each for a floor standing speaker that sounds like music?
Yes, its true.
I almost want to buy a pair for myself after buying a pair for a friend and shaking my head in amazement,
Listening to judy collins sing Both side now made me cry, and feel a special kinship to my japanese brother who designed these!
If I didnt have Celestion SL6 and Sunfire subwoofer setup, I would grab a pair!
You read it here folks, CULT STATUS, Move over little OPTIMUS lx-7, and bow to the emperor!
THE NEW DARLING OF THE INTERNET!!!!!

Returned my KLH 9123 to Best Buy today and traded them in for the Sony SS-MF515 and I think that I've made a wise choice. I have to agree with most of the people that have previously commented on the speakers. I was a little nervous buying these speakers even though they were Sony's, but for $239.99 a pair, I couldn't resist. These are not huge bass speakers, but the bass is very respectable for 2 6.5" woofers. I don't know how to describe them, perhaps one of the reviewers put it best when he said that it sound rich instead of bright. I rented Apollo 13 on the DVD, and the Dolby Digital effects were great. Also, if you're looking for an attractive looking speaker (physical appearance) this one is a beauty. I give it 4 stars, because there could be impoved bass, but it is well worth the price that I paid and then some.

I have had these 515s for about a week now and I can't believe the sound quality. I listend to a set of Polk Audio's(499 Ea!) and Sonys side by side, and I could tell much difference. The quality of sound is there. But however they don't have the quality construction of B&M, Polks, Klipsch,Etc. Instead of a solid wood, you get a Laminated particle board (Compressed Sawdust with glue). Not to make them sound ugly, they are not. They are very nice looking speakers, just not made from solid wood (You have to look really close around the back to even notice.) But for $120 who cares!
If your after a top-notch sound for a down to earth price. These are bang on! Well worth 2x the list price!

I've had these speakers for over a month now and I can't believe the sound quality. Everything about them is great, I don't know where to begin, so I'll just say, these are a great deal, I got mine for $230 for the pair, and they were a bargain! I've been using them with my SONY STR-DE935 receiver and the sound comes out great. I'd give them a 4 because there are better speakers out there, but these are the best you can get for this amount of cash, so I feel they deserve a 5!

INCREDIBLE!
These speakers are the best kept secret in hi-fi! IMHO, these are simply the best you can get for under $500. The imaging is fantastic, the highs crystal clear, the mids are perfect, the bass is huge! I had to turn the bass on my EQ WAY down because my windows were rattling so much.

Oh, and they LOOK good too!

You will not be disappointed. Try cameraworld.com, $169 for the pair.

Strength:

Highs and mid-bass.

Weakness:

Do need a bit more bass. But as mentioned before, nothing a woofer can't fix!

Absolutly awesome sound for the money. Being 16, I am starting to really appreciate good sound. Not just loud, "messy" sound. These speakers sounded great in the Sound Zone in Best Buy, so I bought them. The only other competator to consider was the Bose 301. They were more expensive ($298 compared to $250), bass was a little better but the clearity and highs was what sold me.

Strength:

Beautiful sound, perfect size.

Weakness:

I haven't found a weakness yet.
(It seems perfect for my needs.)

These things are sweet. They seem to do the job
just right in the 20x15' room I put them in.
The sound is so clean, and the highs aren't so
bright that they make you want to turn them down
like some other speakers.
Some $450 a pair Yamahas sounded a little better,
but not $200 better.

First Sony product.
