Yamaha NS A200XT Floorstanding Speakers

Yamaha NS A200XT Floorstanding Speakers

DESCRIPTION

- Yamaha's NS-A200XT 3-way bass reflex tower speaker utilizes all aluminum drivers including dual 8"" woofers and a 4.25"" midrange, both with inverted aluminum dust caps, and a 1"" aluminum dome tweeter.
- The speaker is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields.
- Five-way binding posts make connections easy and the gold plating provides the great electrical bond.
- New grille design and satin grille cloth provide an attractive and acoustically transparent protective cover for the drivers.
- The profile radius wrapped black finish cabinet provides a handsome style accent and improves the acoustic performance by reducing cabinet interference and assuring the proper dispersion of sound.

Strength:

Excellent sound and flexibility. Great range and response...

Weakness:

only come in black

These speakers (in conjunction with a sub woofer) can recreate a great range of sounds with out very much power and do not distort at higher volumes.

I am using them not only for music but for my front (B) A/V spkrs as well and with the sub I use, I can blow the house down. Just the THX intro blows me away.

I would reccomend these to anyone who is looking for a great priced and value packed speaker. Great sound, good looks and the Yamaha know how.

Strength:

same as before

Weakness:

lies about true size of woofers

After having them for a couple weeks now I would like to say that they sound good, on music, not very well on movies. Maybe it's my reciever, but I doubt it. One thing I noticed was the size after taking the grill off several times. It really pissed me off to find out that these are really 7" woofers and not 8" woofers!!!!!! Wether you believe it or not, that 1" inch size difference can really make a difference! It is hard for me to swallow the fact that I really supported this speaker and chose it over several others in it's price range only to be frauded out of what the seller, dealer (being Yamaha), said I was purchasing! The broucher says "dual 8" woofers", NOT! The advertisements say "dual 8" woofers" NOT! Well in saying I plan on returning the speakers! If there is one thing I totally hate in this world it is being lied to! I guess the lesson here is from now on I have to take a tape measure with me when I purchase speakers! Unbelievable!

Strength:

Beautifully designed, sleek and slender which means no problem for placing! Sounds great!

Weakness:

Nothing really detected yet.

I went to the store to purchase new fronts for my home theater. First I must tell you my home theater is in my bedroom because I live with my parents. But anyways, my ole man didn't want me blowing his roof off so I couldn't purchase the 12 or 15's I wanted so I was immediately mad, then a sound across the showroom grabed my attention. That sound was coming from the Yamaha speakers and boy I was impressed! I took the cover off the front to see two dual 8 inch woofers and couldn't believe they produced that much noise! All in all I didn't get my 12 or 15's, but I got two kick ass speakers that are blowing off my dads roof! Guess who is happy and who is mad! These aren't Bose or Polk Audio, but these are damn good sounding speakers that can only get better after their breaking in period! If you purchase these you won't be disappointed at all! I am very happy. Most of all these and my Kenwood subwoofer compliment eachother very well.
