Strength:
Excellent quality performance Very good imaging and separation Smooth, fairly rich delivery of sound Small Size Attractive Looks Very Good Price
Weakness:
Not as strong on music, but still above avg Mounting system on satellites will make you very nervous when people walk past them: reliable but don't even think of just hand-adjusting the position in a carefree manner The Klipsch Quintet speakers are an outstanding purchase for anyone looking for a solid, attractive, surround sound system. The satellites are small (7") but project very well. For TV and DVDs, the speakers shine. However, the usual knock against these speakers concerns their performance on music. While not bad, they do lack some brightness and depth. However, they still deliver above-avg sound for music. Stereo separation and imaging is outstanding. The system can easily fill my large rec room and the subwoofer, though it struggles sometimes, blends nicely w/ the high-range sounds from the satellites. I have a friend who purchased the Bose Acoustimass series: please buy the Quintets instead of the Bose. The Bose, to be honest are respectable, but simply do not match up with the excellent quality of the Quintets. Similar Products Used: JBL surround system |

I do not know of any I recently purchase a pair of quintet speakers to use as my back speakers. I have found the sound quality to be excellent and the purchase price to be a real steal. The speakers where easy to mount on my living room walls. Because they are so small, they are aesthetically pleasing. I recomment them, and for the price, you can not get better value. I am now searching for a place to buy a single third quintet speack to complete my set of back speakers. |

Strength:
Negligible impact on home decor. Stands are fine, if you understand and don't abuse them... watch that the lock nut stays tight, also
Weakness:
Comparitively poor sound out of box; must modify to optimize them. Get them on closeout, and don't complain! These speakers "howl" with resonance so badly I don't know how Klipsch let them leave the factory. This may account for why so many are available on closeout. Listen to Raoul Walsh... I took his advice; after listening for 2 weeks, I took them apart and packed tight with fiberfill... AMAZING STUNNING difference. Much happier now. Too many people here saying, "not great for music..." -doesn't that just mean they suck? packing them is a night and day difference. Anyone who hasn't done it hasn't really heard them yet. Response is so much flatter. Not necessary to drill thru stands to mount on cieling; can't understand that one... it's no different than mounting to a wall. Put up 2 screws and slide them into place, duh... |

none-stands work fine just read instructions. for less than $100 a pair these speakers are a real find.I use them for my front and rear surrounds mounted on the wall. These speakers sound as good or better than the Large bookshelf type they replaced, better suited for Home Theater than a regular stereo setup. Strength:
crisp sound, excellent match w/ other klipsch speakers
Weakness:
??none- some people have mentioned the built in stands as problematic- haven''t noticed this- i recently replaced mine w/ telescoping speaker stands only to get the exact height i wanted Excellent set of speakers. I own klipsch synergy series fronts and center speakers. Had been looking around for a nice set of speakers to add as surrounds- but the standard klipsch synergy surrounds are so bulky. I live in a small apartment, and these were a marvelous addition to my set. I have tried hooking them up alongside my front mains, and they obviously arent as clean in sound- however i think they make excellent surrounds- blend extremely well with the remainder of my system. Excellent choice if you have a klipsch system and are looking for small surround speakers- i don''t know any other company that can match the unique "horn loaded" sound of the klipsch. Overall- great sound- good feel, real heavy duty- suggestion- klipsch web-site offers nice stands for those of you looking for a stand that will support the design (and weight) of this speaker.- great buy- especially on-line Similar Products Used: Polk M-3 Cerwin Vega Bose lifestyle |

Price, size, sound, appearance
Weakness:
They are not Large Klipsh speakers...but I''m being picky Price is per speaker not including shipping...I love my quintets...I just built a new home and my wife''s pre req was no big "ugly" speakers. I have 4 white quintets that were professionally wall mounted, a 15'' DCM down firing sub woofer, and a wharfedale rubience center channel (nice speaker). I have a very nice kenwood reciever that has various speaker settings, I have a setting for "Large medium or small" for each speaker, basically it tells the bass were to go etc. For the folks saying that they dont handle bass well, they are not designed too. When they were installed the gentleman who ran the wires etc took some time with his meters to find the best placement, (20x24 room with 12 ft vaulted cielings) after about a week or so of playing with the settings, they sound amazing. The THX thing at the beginning of a DVD just rocks the house down. They pick up all kinds of great noises from a quality DVD. The opening scene of planet of the apes comes to mind. As far a Music goes, they could be better, but for their size and "hide-abilty" I cant think of another company that has a better product. I have speakers thoughout my entire house, mostly BIC in-walls, so I rarely have the system peaked, except for the occasional party. they more than do the job. For the money there is nothing better !!! If you are even considering a BOSE Lifestyle system, I strongly encourage you to listen to these before you do. Most folks looking at the BOSE have the same issues I had about the size and "uglyness" of big speakers, these kill the Bose and for the $ of a lifestyle system you can get a much better, very nice reciever, sub and center, and have much more upgrade options for you future. Great look (small), excellent clarity with home theater.
Weakness:
Not the best choice for music. The Quintets are very good speakers under certain conditions; that is, they''re perfect for someone who is looking for a home theater solution that doesn''t dominate the room, and who''s going to pair them up with a subwoofer. I have four Quintets with the center channel and a KSW-12 sub, purchased in June of 2000. We wanted something small, because we live in a relatively small apartment, and the Quintets are about as small as it gets. Also, we use them more for home theater (TV and DVDs) than we do for CDs, although we listen to music pretty frequently. For us, they''re great. Mounted on the wall they take up basically no space, and look very stylish. The sound for HT (especially DVDs) is crystal clear, with excellent separation and plenty of punch. Admittedly, music sometimes sounds a bit pinched; but overall, again, we''re happy. You really do need a sub with these, but given their tiny size, I can''t say that I''m at all surprised. A good mid-range choice. |

Weakness:
Everything else These speakers are very disappointing. After doing some research I thought these would be good spaekers but was I wrong. They are very inefficent, the stands are weak and come loose all the time. The crossover is too high (4900hz)if you listen carefully the small woofer can not handle the low and mid range and distorts vocals and guitar. I think playing these with the subwoofer hides the poor sound of the satilites. Similar Products Used: Radio Shack mini cubes |

Weakness:
none so far These speakers sound great for somewhat small rooms. They have nice weight to them so thay don't feel cheep. I am only using the center and 2 for surounds, I have bookshelf's for my fronts. I'm running them through the Denon AVR-3300 (WHAT A WONDERFUL UNIT) planning more long term use. I'm looking to add the KSW-12 for more bottom end. The Klipsch web site has great stands for the speakers, only $89 for the pair and all metal. They were the only place I found for stands. You won't go wrong with these speakers. Similar Products Used: new to sat speakers. |

Price, Sound, Klipsch quality I have had these less than one month, and if you are looking to buy look no further. The first music disc I put in sounded a little flat. But now that I have played with the sub a little it sounds great!!! But thats not the good news. Put in a dvd and let the walls rumble. You are at the movies, only louder. Plus you don't have to pay $5.00 for popcorn. I am very impressed with these speakers. I have found the best speakers for the price. I paid $735.00 with 12' sub, from Kiefs audio.
