I listened to these speakers and was amazed. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a speaker system that beats this for $1500. I've only listened to some Boston Acoustics, Klipschs, and Bose systems.

We had to scale down from an expensive larger speaker system (smaller home in the west). Wanting to combine our stereo listening with our home movie dvd setup we auditioned Boston Acoustics 9000, Bose Acoustimass, Martin Logan Aerius, Phase Tech Teatro, other Polk home theater systems, M & K, Mirage and Infinity. We found the stereo listening disappointing in the smaller speaker systems. We were in the store the day the new Polk RM7500 system was being displayed. We immediately were impressed with the beauty and the integrity of these speakers. They hooked them up, turned them on...we had them play three of our favorite cd discs. WOW! We requested to hear with the receiver adjusted flat with and without the sub woofer. To our amazement, the Left and Right had enough bass without the sub...the highs and midrange were articulate. The whole room filled with music. We couldn't tell if the sound was coming from these or the larger speakers placed in the listening room. We then had them play two movies...again we were amazed at the performance. We couldn't find and reviews so we took a chance and took them home. Our system is Sony DA50ES receiver, Sony DVP 530 dvd player. We used 12 guage braided copper wire and Monster interconnects Video 3 Series.(We paid 0.47 foot for the speaker wire. We used smaller wire to do the speaker placement and found that the guage of the wire makes a noticeable difference. The speakers have binding posts and we direct wired to these.) These speakers are so elegant that we placed them on pedestals in the front, and the rears on an armoire and book shelf. (Our room would not allow us to wall mount these.) Our placement is not the best but these speakers are not hard to place...they sound exceptional. We are able to use the different surround effects when listening to stereo becuase the rear and center speakers have the same integrity of the front speakers. This is important to us when listening to DTS recordings. Our soundstage is good even though we had the limitation of a corner placement of our Big Screen. Ron says that the accuracy and detail of these speakers are execellent on all types of music. We are thrilled with these and kudos to Polk! If it were possible....we'd give these a 10.

Unbelievable sound from Polk Audio. The Dynamic balance feature of these speakers operates similar to that of Bose direct reflecting technology. However the dual 10 inch sub, produces LFE so low it shakes my neighbors house next to mine. I cant say enough about these speakers for the money. They should at the very least qualify for the THX Select rating, for they sound better than some of the THX certified speakers I have heard. Without any disrespect to Bose, they are far superior than the AM15. I am a hudge fan of many brands of speakers including Bose, but I must say for the size these put the smack down. It is true that the quality and guage wire you use with these speakers makes a hudge diffrence in the way they sound. I used Monster THX certified speaker cable and connected this set to a Pioneer Elite VSX26TX Digital THX reciever. Another product I praise highly. I am telling you with so much competion products get better and better, for less. My system is the RMS7500 with the dual 10inch sub, Pioneer Elite VSX26TX THX reciever, Sony DVD player and the new 32 inch Sony Trinitron Wega XBR, HDTV ready. We hardley ever go out to the movies now!

You pay for what you get with speakers. I was both fortunate and unfortunate enough to work for Circuit City for about six months. Fortunate because i could order on accomidation pricing. I received these speakers about a month ago straight from Polk. Paid $640.00 even. I was always impressed with the construction design of both cabinets and the excellent balance that the certain subs they made exibited. Before learning about the 7500, i was pretty much sold on getting 4 RT55's, CS400, and PSW650. But very glad I waited. These speakers are very good for the money, dynamic balance, not boomy, not overly high either, BALANCED! For the everyday consumer who cannot afford B&W, Klipsch, Velodyne, A/R, Magnaplane these are great speakers. I listen to music 85% of the time so it was very important that I get a speaker set that won't distort at high volumes over extended periods (reason I didn't go with 6500 or 7300). I am also very happy with my new Onkyo 575. It has a 5 channel stereo mode, similar to Denon componets (only cheaper$$$$) and sounds fantastic thru these speakers.
One thing I did learn from Circuit city was that customers stuck with Polk products after buying them, no returns like with Infinity, JBL, Bose, etc. Just let your ears make the decision, these are great for the money. I will be happy for quite sometime.

After much research, I settled on the Polk RM7500 system. Boy, what a choice! My first DVD experience was "The Matrix". In a word--AWESOME! The Polks put me right in the middle of the action. My theater: Yamaha R-V1105, Pioneer DV-525, Sony Wega 32", and Monster THX subwoofer cable. Everything, minus the TV, was ordered from Crutchfield. You pay more, but the customer service/guarantees are well worth the extra cash.

Strength:

Excellecnt sound quality

Weakness:

Too big & heavy.

These speakers I bought from Joemamma for $975.00 shipped. Excellent speakers, but I was surprised to see their size & weight. Actually I never saw them or heard them before buying them, I auditioned RM6500 & RM5400. Highs & very lows are excellent. Mids, at times are not that good but I may be wrong as I am still in the process of evaluation. My advice about them will be that don't worry about sound it's excellent, but do check on the size & weight. I have used Bose AM15, DO I need to say something about them ? enough has been already been said. In comparison to Def. Tech 200 series, it's highs are very neat and don't sound like noise. Also speakers blend with each other so perfectly that directional thing, unless untill intended in the soundtrack, is not apparent. Overall very good option in this price range, if planning on Def. Tech. do check on these, yoiu may be surprised. In size both are similar.

This is a follow up review.

I've had these incredible speakers for 8 months now. I'm so happy and pleased I bought this system. The sound is better than I could have ever imagined, it's so crisp, clean and right there in your face, you really do feel like you're in the movie, or at a concert. Watching a movie i've seen a 100 times with these speakers seems like the first time. You hear so many things you never heard before...It's just amazing.

I can honestly say this is the best purchase I have ever made. Not to mention the awesome price. I really have no complaints about these speakers

All I can say is give this system a try, I bet my left leg you wont be disappointed.

Unfortunately I don't think www.liquidprice.com is working any more :( What a shame

Strength:

Bass (PSW-650),Binding posts on sub, Looks, Balanced tone, Center channel

Weakness:

No remote for sub, no included cables(?)

I spent a while listening to all of the sub/sat systems that I could, including the bose systems, and the klipsch, and also the yamahas. None of them impressed me much. My pet peeve is how with all of these systems the bass and mids didn't blend well between the sub, and sats. A couple of weeks ago I finally got to hear this system at an American Furniture store (something like that) and they were so much better. Polk was running a special where you got a $250 credit on this set, so it was a steal.

These speakers sound great! They have the best tonal blend from the sub to the highs that I have heard so far. I listen to more music than I do movies, but didn't want to sacrifice space for towers so this balance was important. The center channel speaker is also exceptional. On the in store demo they played a scene from the movie "Heat", and the amount of sound that this speaker handles is amazing. The lacquered black finish on these is very nice, but kind of scares me. I fear that any chips or accidents that happen will be very noticeable, oh well, time will tell.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.
