Strength:
Awesome base sound
Weakness:
None This subwoofer is incredible. When I first hooked it up, I had it behind my TV on the carpet and it sounded decent. I was at Radio Shack picking up a longer audio cable to move the subwoofer and while I was there, I asked the sales person if I would get a better sound out of unit by putting it on a hard surface and before you know it, the subwoofer was vibrating my whole house after I moved it over behind the couch on the tile. The base sounded incredible!! I would recommend this product to anybody for the price. The subwoofer is hooked up to my shelf system (Aiwa) and I use it for my surround sound while watching movies and also for listening to my CD's. The base is absolutely awesome Similar Products Used: Sony, Pioneer |

Strength:
Great bass.
Weakness:
None I just got this sub for my birthday and I am blown away by the bass this sub outputs. So far I've watched Armagedon(Criterion), The Matrix, Road Warrior, Fight Club, Saving Private Ryan(dts), and Dances With Wolves(dts). Each one of these DVDs have never sounded better on my system with the new sub. I highly recommend picking one of these babies up. |

Strength:
Low price
Weakness:
It dies on you!!!!/Rumbling/lacks quick base/inhomegeneous/does not cover abs.low frequencies/Gets beaten up/poorly styled. The peice that I bought died on me, with about 15 hours of very soft use on it. AIWA refused to replace it, but agreed to service it. I cursed myself for buying this speaker. I used it to protect my Mitsubishi's from distorted low frequencies coming out of a badly set audio enhancer. This subwoofer could not produce the low base that my floor standing speakers would easily handle. This may be a good unit for a midi system. But Jensen would be a better choice if you are looking for a low end subwoofer.(You can buy a jensen for under $100 at the circuit city.)This unit is very much uni-directional. Do not expect to get a descent low freq-profile in your listning area with this speaker. (It will drill a hole through a person right in front of it, but the rest would hardly notice the presence of it.) Similar Products Used: DCM,Infinity,Mitsubishi |

Can't reach some of the lower frequencies. A good little sub for its price. I was expecting the bas to be a little richer. But, what can you expect from paying only $129. I'm happy with it. Definitely buy this sub if you're looking for something with a lot of bass for a failry low price. |

none!
Weakness:
the sub itself! hooked it up after buying it on-line and had it boxed up and ready for return within a hour. all it did was pop and thump unless at very low volume. i hooked it up to a brand new aiwa receiver, so compatability wasn't any issue here. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
adds some bass
Weakness:
falls out at a not low enough frequency, very distorted at high volums Yeah this sub isn't the best out there. But how much can you expect from something that costs a little over $100? If you're expecting this thing to knock you off you chair when listening to it, its not going to happen. it adds some bass and works well with smaller systems. its not fair to compare this with more quality subs. it was designed to be an ok sub at a cheap price. yeah its rated at something like 120 watts. i have a hard time believing that number, but its really not all that important anyways. if you're going to use a wattage rating alone to determine how good a sub will be, at least look at the RMS rating. I'm not sure what it is on this, but i doubt that its very high. if you want a good sub you're going to have to spend the money for on. don't expect to come across a magical sub that is really cheap and will sound great cause that most like won't happen. if you want something that will add to your system and you're kind of short on funds, this could be what you're looking for. just don't expect too much. i haven't had any problems with it, though placement is important to get rid of some unwanted sounds when its turned up. Strength:
Good sound; powerful sound.
Weakness:
Hits aren't clean; low-end isn't as defined as it's older cousin, the TS-W50 I originally owned a TS-W50 and loved it, but it crapped out on me after only a year and a half of use. When I went to see what I could get, I saw the TS-W60, so I got that. This sub is definitely louder and nicer than the W50, but the W60 doesn't seem to go as low as the W50 did, even though it is more powerful. The W50 could get the REALLY low frequencies, but the W60 cuts out a little higher. Hits also seem to be a tad underpronounced... prolonged bass tones rattle the windows, but hits don't register quite as they should, though they're there in force. Also, and I know this is probably a general subwoofer characteristic, but I've noticed that although low-end frequencies are non-directional, this subwoofer's sound changes drastically depending on it's position and your position. I can stand in one spot in my room where the bass is pathetic, both in how you hear it and in how you feel it... another spot yields incredible bass and enough rumble to call it a foot massage... and these spots are 4 feet from each other =P . I would recommend this subwoofer at a decent price (sub-$100)... it's loud, it looks nice, and it works well with all types of other speakers. It shouldn't disappoint.
