Strength:

Great Bass for its size!! 10" cone with 250watts! Looks tame, but sounds massive!

Weakness:

None really, the auto on/off switch doesn't always work consistently

I shopped around for a while before I settled on the PS100tl, and I am very happy that I did. I looked some big ones by JBL, and Polk, and was very disappointed. They all had either huge cones, with little power, or little cones with little power. The PS100tl is by far the best sub I have heard for the price. It produces nice tight bass for music because of power to cone size ratio. It also does well for Home Theater applications, producing great bass down to, and below, 20hz. I even listened to this next to its bigger brother the PS200tl, and liked the 100 better. The 200tl was a 12" cone with the same amp, and I thought the bass of the 200 had much less umph. Another plus to this sub is it's size. I have it crammed into a dorm room, and it is small enough to not get in the way. I have listened to others with larger, more impressive looking subs, and just laughed because this little 100tl sounds so much better. As one of my hallmates said, "I can feel it in my groin!"

Strength:

Awesome Power and impact, Extreamly tight bass, nice and compact. A lot of hook up choices.

Weakness:

Auto on function does no work very well, but is easly fixed by use of a Y adapter into the stereo inputs on sub:-)

I was looking for a sub for my second system but did not want to break the bank! It had to have quality bass out put, be musical yet hit low enough for Home Theater. I looked at the Energy exl-S10, but it only had 100 watts and had some port noise problems. So when I found out the Def Tech came out with The Pro Sub 100TL I had to give a listen. This sub has a 10" 250 watt amp. All I can say it fills all of my expectations! It will fill all but the biggest rooms with awesome bass! It goes down to at least 25hrz with real impact! If you need a killer sub for little cash this is the way to go, and you can even get it in white. To address the auto on problem simply use a Y adapter plugged into the stereo input on the sub and you will never ever have a problem.

Strength:

great output for compact size. lots of input options.
good construction quality.

Weakness:

None at this price

If you are looking for a low cost sub for home theatre or music you can't go wrong with this unit. Remember this is a 10" sub, don't expect the ground to shake. This new unit has none of the remote on/off problems mentioned in other reviews.
