Strength:
Lots of bass
Weakness:
Large size I have many of the other reviews, and I have not had the kind of trouble you all described. I have played this thing at defening levels for 6 hours and more during some big keg parties, and this sucker kept bumpin. Similar Products Used: Audiosource 8, M&K 12, Eosone 12, |

Strength:
Little disapointed when I first hooked it up as I had it right up against the wall (port) and this sub does not like that at all. I fliped it around and my Gosh it pounded, and pounded it did. At higher volumes it seems to get quite boomy, and loose its tight acurate bass. Could be the cheap cone they use?
Weakness:
Quality looks like they could have done a better job with building it. Not a terriable sub but could use some improvements. For $364 including shipping and a extended 4 year warranty, I got through simplycheap.com, I think I got the best bang for the buck. Movies sound real awesome as well as music. Anyone else try a different woofer in its place? Similar Products Used: Jensen 12" 150w sub, BIC 12" 200watt sub. |

Strength:
sleek design, smooth low response, powerful: 350watt, gold plated i/o, simple manual, logical layout, no ground connector needed. Bass you could feel!
Weakness:
big, heavy but not that heavy. Require tweaking to get the tight character. Fatigue if continuous hearing? I bought a refurbished unit from ubid for the first time and probably won't do it again! It's scratchy with dented grill and and bent rca input. I paid $170 for the unit + ~$80 for shipping. Similar Products Used: Boston 10: with 100watt amp |

Strength:
The Sub is reasonably priced and the construction has been very good. It can shake and fill my large apartment (my neighbors are very understanding) with low frequency energy.
Weakness:
It is very large - makes an excellent end table for those who need one. I cannot attest to the reliability and quality control issues other reviewers have had with the product. I have never had any problem with any part of the sub. Taking into account the price and performance I believe it provides very good value. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Huge Bass! High and low pass crossovers with direct line left, right and center inputs and outputs
Weakness:
Bulky, you almost need two people to move the thing. I got this product for only $160 through Best Buy because it was serviced and came back late. The retail on this thing was $799. Similar Products Used: every product Best Buy sells |

Strength:
Big and very loud.
Weakness:
Discontinued model. Maybe lower quality cone[always could be thicker] and foam surround?? This sub is a very nice component to a full fledge HT system. I have my crossover setting set around 70-80hz. My main speakers have 12" speakers in them so with this sub the sound from them is complete and sounds very good. The amplifier is more than capable of supplying power to produce overwhelming base. It's hard for me to judge the bass at high levels because in my house the windows are old and loose in their casings. So when I crank up the volume i hear lots of rattleing, etc, not too sure if a little bit is comming from the sub or not. The woofer itself seems ok, but still turns out the bass. Remember that good paper cones give you the most base. I wouldn't expect the sub to perform good at higher frequency ranges [above 100-110hz]. The 15" sub probobaly couldn't move as fast/sound good. As with most 15" subs you should use this with some main speakers that have 10" or 12" speakers to get very pleasing overall sound. I don't if JBL is planning on it but there powebass series does not have a 15" sub or else that would be the one to get :( Similar Products Used: DCM Kx-12's series 2, DCM 12a's, JBL S-center, and some crappy speakers |

Strength:
Great Bass
Weakness:
HUGE!! This sub is steal if you can get it for $300. Look around on the web, don't pay more than $350. This thing makes great bass, especially home theater bass, but i wouldn't feed it a signal higher than 80-100 Hz. Definately use a y-splitter cord when hooking up, the way it is wired this increases output over using a single input. Only real problem is if you like to move your sub around to find the best place in the room, this sub weighs about 70 lbs so it doens't move so easy. But i can live with that. Five stars value for $300. |

Strength:
Sound Quality of deep bass, cost factor
Weakness:
Very large, reliability concerns? Reading the reviews on this subwoofer,I can't believe that so many of these have had problems. I have compared this model to other brands, and the build quality seems to be of a higher standard than even the Klipsch! Let me try to explain...When comparing speaker magnet size, features and sound quality, the KSW-15 does not compare. I bought the JBL at Best Buys for $299. brand new in the box after "price drop"! I also bought a the Klipsch for a good price of $499. And dollars aside, the JBL sounds far superior in my setup with my Klipsch RF-3's than the Klipsch does. When I listened to all types of music, I can hear very clean bass coming from the JBL, and the punch has a much greater authority than the Klipsch. The Klipsch and JBL both seem to go as deep, but the JBL sounds much better. It has a much smoother response from the lower ranges to the higher ranges than the Klipsch. The Klipsch is only good to around 100 hz, after that, sharp rolloff. The JBL goes every bit as low, and will still produce sound to around 180 hz. Adjusting both, and placing them all around the room, I found that no matter where I place the JBL, it comes out on top for sound quality. I do prefer the smaller appearance and looks of the Klipsch, but I didn't buy a Sub so it would look nice. And when I look at the quality of the two, I can't believe that the Klipsch is rated so highly. The screws on the back have burrs from being assembled, and the speaker itself has a much smaller magnet than the JBL. The Klipsch magnet appears to be around 40 oz. where the JBL'S matches a speaker that I own that is a known 70 oz. magnet. I was very surprised to see this difference, and I will admit, I was hoping to like the Klipsch better(matches the rest of my speakers), but I have to say, the JBL is superior in sound. Now, I hope that when I return the Klipsch, I don't regret it because the JBL amplifier blows! Similar Products Used: Klipsch KSW-15,Velodyne CT-150 |

size, questionable build quality I'm an audiophile with a casual listeners budget. I was looking for the most bang for the buck when i went shopping for a sub, and I believe I found the one. The pswd115 goes low, loud, and even at extreme volumes, there is no audible distortion. I use it only for music, which might seem a little wierd, but I like the way music sounds with big boomy depth. Granted, on some types of music, this baby just can't keep up, but for the price I paid, I can accept that. I ordered this sub with my fingers crossed after reading about all the amplifier problems people have had with this line of subs but mine works. Furthermore, I'm sure the overwhelming majority work as well, its just that when people feel they get screwed, they are more vocal about it. However, JBL should still have tighter quality control when assembling these, and they should be tested at the factory anyway, hence the questionable build quality.
