Strength:

Very neat small design, level knobs and frequency knobs are very sturdy.

Weakness:

Not enough bass

The subwoofer itself looks very tight and well crafted. The mat black finish and even the rear amp knobs are all first rate. The large specs and the size alone is worth an audience. However, it fell short of my expectations. Unfortunately the bass does not go as low as I would have liked. I currently have AR 11 as my front speakers and the combination of these speakers and this subwoofer does not show any significant difference as far as bass responce is concerned. There is a sequence in Antz when the antz get stuck to a sneaker and the bass from that scene is astounding. Using that as a way to check at high volumes I did not get enough of a diferrence. My listening room is 12X19. I will try the sub out totally this weekend, but I do not think I will be satisfied. I did have an Advent AV550 and it was a 15"er the bass was very deep tight and perfect. It was only too big. I would like to get that bass back, but without the sound. I may have to bite the bullet and just put out more money.

Strength:

Nice slick design to easily fit the corner not standing out too much, easy dials on the back with led on/off in the front.

Weakness:

takes a while to burn in but its worth it

First of all this sub does the job for the money compared to other 10" subs out there cuz it does well below 30Hz. This is not meant for big rooms, my listening area is an average 15x20 but still shakes the room in HT. If you're using this for HT with satellites set your front to small and dial the crossover of the sub to 100 to 120 since satellites can't handle low frequencies and that is where the sub will pick up from to keep the balance. Make sure you have it in the corner and the port is aroun 1ft away on an angle to have enough room for air and its better to have it firing on a bit solid area cuz the carpet does absorb a bit, and last make sure you have a good sub cable for better signal, as you all people know QUALITY DOES NOT COME CHEAP so spend a bit more on cable.

Strength:

Good looking, quality sound.....

Weakness:

Blows fuses

I dont understand why people bash this sub. Maybe the people bashing this sub need to learn how to set a stereo up and experiment with the levels and placement of the sub. I will admit that when i first got my KSW-10, i was dissatisfied with the power and quality of the sound. That was when i had it connected with speaker cable. I went out to the store and boughts MonsterBass 300 sub cable and plugged it into my Onkyo TXDS-484 receiver and wow was i amazed. I set my sub in the corner of my room with the port facing the wall. I set the sub to about 6 and just listening to music i was very happy. When i threw in Saving Private Ryan, it sounded so great. I thought i was really in the war. Most people are rating it and have not had it for more than a month. What is up with that? You cannot judge something that quickly. IT IS A 10" WOOFER, YOU EXPECT IT TO SHAKE YOUR HOUSE APART? Give me a break, these people are pathetic, if they are smart enought to look for a good brand like klipsch, they should be smart enough to know that it is a SMALL SUBWOOFER, its not an enormous bulky 15" sub. If you need more power then get a larger sub, 10" is good enough for me. It has more than enough power and sounds great. So if you want to be able to listen to high notes but still have those low notes there then go out and get a KSW-10 right away. If you are one of those people that is obsessed with bass and dont care about being able to hear your music then get a bigger sub.

I would never recommend this product, and I've owned Klipsch speaker systems for 15 years, starting with KG-2s. The moment I got this thing home it blew a fuse. I took it back to the store and got another fuse, and it blew it again! Then I exchanged it for another SW and guess what? Blew it again. Worse, it uses some .63 amp fuse that nobody carries. I traded it in immediately for the KSW12, which if it blows, at least uses a 1.25 amp fuse, available on earth.

Strength:

Good brand name.

Weakness:

Many

I bought the KSW-10 thinking it would be enough for my fairly small room. I used a monster sub cable and placed it on a hardwood floor. I barely noticed it was on most of the time, but when the receiver volume was high it just rattled the doors and glass in my apartment.

I returned it, and based on the reviews I recently bought the KSW 12 which I found on sale for less than I had paid for the 10.

Buy the KSW 12 instead. It's like night and day.

Strength:

It looks pretty nice, small foorprint and well packaged.

Weakness:

Really not alot of sound for a 10" sub.

Well, first let me tell you what I am running. I have a Yamaha DSP AX1 and JBL S-312,S-38, S-36, S-center, Bose rear center, Infinity Front surrounds, Yamaha YSW-160 and Onkyo M282 amp, and now this black box Klipsch calls a sub. When I turned up Pearl Harbour my Yamaha with twin 8"'s ate the Klipsch alive. Was it on? I had to keep checking the green LED. It should suit its purpose however as all I wanted was a sub to round out the low end in a large room. Can not say that I am all that impressed with it though. I really only bought it because I could not beat the price. Oh well, better luck next time. Should have bought the JBL.

Strength:

Good Looking peice. LED on the front

Weakness:

lacks tone. Severly overated for power. Would Boom, but nothing earth shattering. Blew the fuse at only moderate levels and moderate volume

Not impressed with this Sub. I ended up returning it for a Boston PV600, and there is a HUGE difference in sound quality and power.

Strength:

klipsch quality, good video performance, power led on front

Weakness:

gain control lacks full range of use

my expectations were this: i bought this unit (along with a klipsch sc-1 and a pair of 8.5 towers) as a introduction to a home theatre system sound system. i was looking for something that i would use as 75% audio and 25% video. it was set up in a rather long room (about 30 feet and about 12 feet wide). my dvd player(panasonic dvd-rv30) does double duty as a cd player. This was to save on the cost of separate units, not as a sonic consideration.

initially, i was happy. having a sub-woofer was a change of pace for me. the video sound was (and is) good. but after a year, i realized the audio just did not have what i was looking for. my old stereo had klipcshorns and quite honestly, i was spoiled. (they are in the bonus room now). my retailer has a program where you can upgrade any component within a year. you return the speaker and all materials, get a full credit for the purchase price and pay the difference for the new component. i got the ksw-12 about a week ago am am more pleased. it fills my room better.

all in all the ksw-10 is a good product. i just underestimated my needs (stereo, that is). no fault of the product.

Strength:

Small size

Weakness:

Tin can percussions. Blew fuse within 5min of playing.

I recently aquired some high-end Hartley tower speakers that needed some lower priced low-end bottom. I had no idea of this site and reviews available to help me with my decision. I bought the Klipsch along with JBL PB12 speakers for comparative shopping and as for the results...let's just say the Klipsch are back at home in HiFi Buys. I could barely hear them over the tower speakers. Within 5 min. of playing at a reasonable sound level, I tried turning up the base ever-so-slightly and was met with silence. I believe a fuse blew. In my opinion, these speakers are meant for a very small studio-sized apartment, mated with bookshelf speakers. I would also recommend these for your PC. As for home listening pleasure...forget about it.
