Strength:
clean, tight, accurate bass.
Weakness:
none noted with the exception of earlier models blowing the fuse (a quick burning was used instead of a slow by mistake) I was uncertain about purchasing this sub due to the fuse issue, but after learning the problem was fixed I purchased one to complete my system within my price range (KSF-10.5's, KSF-S5's, and KLF-C7) This is a very well put together Sub and is accurate for all types of music. Don't let the 125 rms fool you, it puts many 250 rms subs to shame |

Strength:
Deep low end. Tight upper bass freq.
Weakness:
None Rock solid bass with amazing low end. This guy will knock pictures off the wall held by nails. Have always been a fan of Klipsch speakers and these are on par. If you have kids or would just like to watch a DVD with a great sound track, get Iron Giants. When the giant walks, the pictures came off the walls. Similar Products Used: JBL 12, Cerwin Vega 12 |

Strength:
Reasonably priced and sounds great while watching movies.
Weakness:
Haven''t found any yet. I''ve owned this sub for alittle over a year and think it''s an excellent sub for the price. For watching movies, you can''t go wrong with this one. Everyone is saying how boomy it is for music? This sub wasn''t made for music! It was made with a downfiring driver so it would disburse the lows for home theater sound. If you want great sound for music, I suggest you do alittle research and buy the correct sub. As far as this forum goes, I wouldn''t recommend making any decisions based on what people say on here either. I''ve read to many conflicting reviews. It makes me wonder if half the people out there know what the hell there listening too, or listening for!?!?! Anyways, the ksw 12, for me, works and sounds great. But don''t take my word for it. Go out and listen to it for yourself, compare subs. I have the klipsh for movies, and a cerwin vega lw-12 frontfiring sub for music, together they sound freakin awesome! Strength:
Solid construction, ease of use, compact size, great sound.
Weakness:
None so far I bought this sub last nite...hooked it up to my system, which consists of Klipsch KLF30''s, KLF C-7, and RS3II''s powered by an older Onkyo 909 Pro (which I am upgrading next)....the sub really brought new life to my system. I was always kind of diappointed with the sound quality for music from my system, especially when listening to stereo sources...it was amazing...I was on the fence as to whether or not to get the 15 or the 12, but opted for the 12 because of price reasons ($200 more for the 15). My dealer also gave me the option of upgrading if I really don''t like the 12, after a trial period. The 12 really does an excellent job for the low end...and I''m hoping it gets even better as the sub breaks in. All in all, I am very satisfied with this sub (I will review again in a couple months after I have a chance to play with it some more. Similar Products Used: ''- |

good looks. nice nobs.
Weakness:
low end electronic components internally 440 Watts??? Ya RIGHT one of the first things that I always do when i buy electronics is take a look at the electronic components if I cannot see them. The amp module in this is even a lot smaller than the one in the SONY SAW-M40 witch in my opinion has a lot bigger sound and at half the cost. This is a good sub and maybe I have not broke it in yet. or have not placed it correctly as to where my SONY is a front speaker sub and this one is on the bottom of the cabinet. I will keep you posted to see what I think of it in a couple of weeks Similar Products Used: Sony SAW-M40(other sub that I own) |

Shear power, seemless direction, its Klipsch, common!
Weakness:
Its a big black box, maybe a larger logo on the front? But who cares, its in the corner anyways. I had currently upgraded my home theater sub from the previous Klipsch model, the Klipsch SW-10 Series II, with this sub. I found that this sub demonstrates a lot more power, and distributes the sound far better in movies. If you are looking for some boom to your bass, look no more. I have had no problems with the fuse, I currently have the volume at level 9 out of 11, and I have cranked this sucker to near deafing loudness (maybe more). This sub is very compact for the power it packs. The auto on/off is a nice feature. I have had no problems with the lighting (as noted earlier someone had). For movies, I cannot imagine anyone wanting something more (unless your powering up a stadium). During Independence Day in the moon scene, my heart ceased and the sub did the beating for me. I can''t explain what erupted from my floors, but it sure was cool. 9mm hand guns explode like pipe bombs, and the usual 3 store explosion is like dropping a nuclear bomb in my basement. Nothing can be more thrilling than to feel the air blow through the room like a slight days breeze. As you can see, I think it works well for movies. Musically, it does a good job too. I feel my front-firing SW-10 may have sounded slightly better (or maybe different) because of its design, however it isn''t nearly as loud, nor distribute across the room as well. This sub provides seemless bass which envelopes the entire room, and gives you a better sense of the drums directly in front of you rather than the front-firing sub. I feel this sub does a great job with music, but it does a hell of a lot better with movies. This sub is connected to a Sony STR-DE675 receiver, with a Klipsch KSC-SC1 Center, Cerwin Vega AT-10 loudspeakers, and Philips 8" loudspeakers as rears. Strength:
clean, tight, powerful, accurate bass
Weakness:
none...well, I might have a tougth time finding a place for it in my dorm room. Through my extensive research, I have found the best subwoofer to accompany my Yamaha micro system, (Model MCR E100). The KSW-12 may have been a bit over-kill for my small dorm room but the performance of this sub cannot be matched. The quality of the KSW-12 cannot be compared to the KSW-10 as well as its competition. I am using this sub primarily for music purposes and it handles any tune I throw at it with ease. Similar Products Used: I have auditioned Velodyne, B&W, Polk, Boston, Paradigm, Yamaha, Mirage, Jamo, and the smaller Klipsch model. |

Strength:
Excellent sound, startling LFE
Weakness:
None, really, maybe a remote would be nice... I added this sub to my system 3 days ago, and it made a world of difference which was immediately apparent. I had hoped that adding a sub would take the load off of my front speakers (which produce strong but muddy bass) and allow me to make the best of whatever highs and mids I can get out of them. Mission accomplished. Similar Products Used: Nothing that even begins to compare. |
