Strength:
Really deep sound. Excellent value. Tight bass
Weakness:
None I looked at many subs. It boiled down to 2 choices. The M&K and Paradigmm PS1000. The M&K really gets low. It is unbelievable with movies and great for music. I like all types of music and the M&K V-75 Mark II really shines with rock music. If this sub cost twice as much it would be a good value. I had a opportunity to listen to one extensively at a friends house and that sold me on sub. I had no second thoughts getting this sub and the longer I use it the more convinced I am I made the right decision purchasing this sub. I suggest you go to the nearest M&K retailer and listen. Similar Products Used: This is my first sub. |

Strength:
Produces really deep bass but still keeping it clean and not boomy.
Weakness:
None Bought this "floor model" three weeks ago. It sounds awesome. Works really well with my Snell speakers (E.5 towers and CR.5 center). Excellent frequency response. I listen to a lot of music CDs (jazz, and others) and this sub delivers the lower end notes very well. You can play music on low volume and the bass is still crisp and clear. I would have paid full price for this if I had to. My A/V receiver is a Sony DA30ES and my DVD player is a Sony DVP-S7000. Similar Products Used: Energy XL-S8 |

Strength:
The M&K V-75II has a very clean and well defined sound even at some of the most demanding listening levels.
Weakness:
The only weakness I have found so far,is that you can not place anything on top,and it rattles the heck out of my blinds and everything else in the room for that matter. My main products used in conjunction with the V-75II is Boston VR 40's and driven by Adcom GFA 555 II amp and Adcom GFP 555 II preamp which has plenty of clearity and punch on it's own.I was going to stick with all Boston products, but once I heard the M&K V-75II I was very covinced! And would recomend it to anyone regardless of their music preference. Similar Products Used: This is actually my first sub,but have tested quite a few. |

Strength:
quick kick
Weakness:
setup I've used this subwoofer for about two years. Then it started to feedback after 20 minutes. I mailed it to M&K and they repaired it for free and returned it in two weeks during the holidays! Similar Products Used: 2 AR 12" woofer tested but both returned - not working |

After six months of owning a M&K V-75 Mark II subwoofer, I believe a reasonable time frame has passed, which enables me to give an informed review. I searched for a subwoofer to have the following attributes: solid construction, driven under control, and, of course, deep bass. Boomy subwoofers, units with rattle, and subwoofers that cannot produce sound under control are a source of irritation to me. The V-75 fit the bill so well at the store that I took it home with me for an audition. I have a large room with a vaulted ceiling, that is partially open on one side. After trying several different locations in placing the unit, I placed it in the corner next to the right channel main along the closed wall. However, placement may be difficult for some with the V-75 because it is not shielded. I briefly setup it up near the television for a quick listen, but it sounded better along the wall. |

M&K V75? NO control, boomy, terrible for music. Way over priced in Can. dollars (what non-Canadian product isn't?!!!!) Speaker line in but no speaker line outs??!! What the heck is that all about?Only good for movies up to moderate levels. |

This is a follow up to my previous review. I have owned the V-75 for well over a year and I am continually impressed with its performance. The sub does a great job on music, but on HT applications, it astounds me. My sub has had considerable time to "break in"…it is a performer. |

Had the M&KV75MKII for close to one year now. I am still very impressed, particularly after listening to others subs, Paradigm PS1000 (Which was my second choice, a great sub. for the $), Velodyne and Sunfire (Which sounded like they were trying to hard to reproduce the bass). I come home and am reassured I made the right decision with the M&K. The main quest for a sub for me was to be very tight and CONTROLLED. The M&K fit that bill perfectly. It's ability to play loud was an extra bonus, but it wasn't the driving force behind my purchase. I have hardwood floors, placed soft rubber feet on the sub. Construction was first rate, no vibrations or annoying rattles. |

Right on Ryan! I agree completely with you. My 75 can be boomy, but only if I don't set it up correctly, which is what Mr. Vogt had experienced. This sub is completely amazing and I plan to upgrade someday to an M&K push-pull bad boy. I am also using the new THX select 750 system with it and I am as happy as a pig in feces. |
