Strength:

Many hookups and features, price, "bang for buck", decent remote, front av hookup, easy to use

Weakness:

picture quality so-so, remote has to be pointed EXACTLY at the right spot,

I bought one of these at Circuit City, but ended up returning it and getting a Toshiba 27A60 instead. The Panasonic is a great value--component video, handy front av hookup, many features (no PIP isn't a big deal to me), 3 line digital filter, etc etc. But at the end of the day, the picture just wasn't as good as the Toshiba's (this is after adjusting the picture, not at factory settings). The Panasonic was darker and the colors at times were just too much/not as "true" seeming, and the picture wasn't as sharp/clear. Even though it had many features I liked better than the Toshiba, the ultimate reason to get a new tv is to have the best possible picture, right? I will still say that the Panasonic is a great value for the price, however, and probably "good enough".

Strength:

component inputs, price

Weakness:

poor picture, everything is red, except for the skin which is GREEN!

I liked the price and the reviews so I bought this. I noticed the picture was very grainey at the store but most of the sets there had a bad pic so I didnt pay any attention. Once home and set up I popped in a video tape via composite input and everything was red. I had to turn the color down to 4 (!) out of about 60 which took care of the redness but now the skin tones were green! The picture also exhibited a very grainey texture. I then tried my cable signal (RF) which was more accurately colored but was also very grainey. I experimented with the settings for over a week before getting sick of it and took it back for a Sony (which I originally wanted). When I was looking around the store I noticed that all the Panasonics with the 3 line comb filter had this grainey rexture to it. So while Im sure that the discoloration was just a fluke , since Panasonic is a good brand, the fuzziness is not. Im pretty sure it is the distorion in the line because my Playstation was clear as a bell running through the RCA ins, which leaads me to believe that Svideo and component ins would look great as this tv has some great color. Buy this set if you are not going to use the RF or RCA inputs for anything other than video games.

Strength:

Excellent picture quality, s-video and component video,

Weakness:

not "great" sound from tv speakers

This TV is a great buy. The picture quality is outstanding for a 27". Colors appear lifelike, flesh tones are accurate, outlines of objects are wonderful. For who is wondering, i just thought it would be nice to add some specs. 1 component video input, 1 s-video input, front and rear A/V jacks. For awhile i had this hooked up to my DVD player(sony-DVP-560D) via s-video. That picture was outstanding. I later bought a component video cable. WOW, what a difference. The color detail was incredible, faces appear crystal clear, backrounds appeared twice as clear as using the s-video(never thought that was possible),detail was at a maximum. What can i say, perfect picture for a 27". The sound does not live up to the picture though. But this is not a big deal since i have it hooked up to my surround sound receivers for multichannel sound for cable. If you have a dvd player, i urge you to get this or if you want great picture quality for cable broadcasts. And for this price, it is relatively unusual to have a tv eqipped w/ component video.

Strength:

Great picture, lots of inputs, way above average for price.

Weakness:

Remote limited when operating other devices.

I purchased this set based mostly on other reviews I've read, and on it's features. This TV is loaded with stuff you normally wouldn't expect to find on a "lower-line" model. The picture blows me away, and all the AV inputs are a real plus. My receiver is broken and needs replaced, so I have all my "goodies" run directly to the TV. I've got the DVD in the component jacks, the VCR in the front AV inputs (using gold right-angle cables) and the Playstation in the S-video port. Everything works great and looks incredible. My only complaint, is that the remote wont pull up the DVD menue (and it's a Panasonic DVD player). But that's a minor issue. Overall, I love this TV.

Strength:

I'm happy with everything the TV has to offer, except for one little, insanely annoying thing...

Weakness:

discoloration for video inputs

I'm going to keep this short, just to give people a heads-up as to the gentleman who addressed the discoloration issue below---it's not justa fluke in the two sets he had. I had it in two of mine, as well. It's a little thing that most people will probably be able to ignore, but it's driving me nuts that every time I watch a beautiful DVD, there are these ugly pea green/pinkish/green/pink bands across the screen. It's exactly as described below. If I can't get this fixed by servicing it, I'm moving on to Toshibas (I already tried a JVC, and took it back twice due to bizarre picture problems). Other than this one thing, however, I love the TV. It'll break my heart if I have to return it. I'm only giving this 2 stars because the discoloration bugs the bejeezus out of me.

Strength:

Picture Quality

Weakness:

none

I received my Panasonic 27" for Xmas and I was psyched but after a couple of days I noticed that the screen was slanted to the left. It was very noticible when watching DVD's in widescreen so I returned it for the same model. So far, so good. No complaints. I was also impressed with the surround speakers even though I use my receiver for audio.

Strength:

Component, picture quality.

Weakness:

High pitched buzzing noise.

Well, this is actually my second one. I returned the first because of screen geometry problems and discoloration on the bottom left corner of the screen and the ever present buzzing sound. I figured I would get lucky with the second unit. Alas, it too has geometry problems and the buzzing sound is driving me crazy. It's a shame because I really want to like this TV. It too will go back to Best Buy.

Strength:

Component Input, decent price

Weakness:

buzzing sound, Green and Pink bands

Started out loving it. Then I heard the buzzing, this sucks. It is so annoying. So then I turned off the tv speakers and used external speakers. It solved the problem. Back to fun time. Then came the PinkGreenPinkGreen bands. This is incredibly annoying, it ruined the experience of watching dvds. One bright spot is that I did not have any geometry problems. If you use external speakers and don't watch dvds you'll be happy with the tv.

Strength:

Great picture, component video input.

Weakness:

None.

I bought this TV as a replacement of my 25-inch Samsung TV that suddenly broke, even though it's been used for only two years.

I really like this TV. It is the one of the latest 27-inch models from Panasonic. It comes with component video and S-video inputs. I find the component video input very useful since it enhances the picture quality from my Toshiba SD-1200 DVD player. The remote control is larger and better than that of the previous model (CT-27G14) that this model replaced. A great value for the money. Of course, you can find cheaper 27-inch TVs under $300, but if you want to set up a mini home theater system, you can't go wrong with this model of Panasonic. I am also confident that it will last much longer than the Samsung it replaced due to Panasonic's reputation in product reliability.
