Strength:
Great image, really crisp and alive
Weakness:
The rest, reliability is terrible. This thing is really great....for 6 months untill the tube goes crazy. First one purchased in 2001. After 5 months there were nasty red and blue spots in the screen. Been away for two months total for several repairs. Finally they replaced the tube. Unfortunatly now there were vertical stripes instead of coloured spots. After four months debating got a new Tv (the pixel plus 32PW9525). Got it in november 2002 and now again the tube is bad since two weeks (all black clours seem green, all white seems blue and i didn't play with the settings). So looks like 'we are in for the same $%. Only advice I can give is don't buy this piece of ####. If it works it is great but it doesn't Similar Products Used: none (sad enough) |

Strength:
100Hz DNM; easy to use; the perfect tv
Weakness:
Rather slow reaction to commands given by remote control (minor comment) This widescreen tv really is the best you can find. The 100Hz Digital Natural Motion feature gives an unbelievable good image quality; it''s is so perfect that you have to get used to it! It is very easy to use and has plenty of options; the dual text is quite handy. |

This review concerns the 36 inch version. As a TV technician i hope Philips will solve the problem with the bad Panasonic (!) CRT they use in this set. In two weeks i had to replace three of them. Bad focus, bad colours when warmed up, black vertical stripes on the sides, awful convergence. The audio is, as in most Philips sets, very weak. My 9 year old B&O MX7000 with active speakers sounds better! Maybe i am very critical but it is part of my job to inform Philips engineers about the quality of their products. My advice for the owners of the 36 inch set: If you notice something unusual about the picture go immediatly to your nearest service center. Here in Belgium there is a two year warranty on the tube. |

Strength:
Superb picture quality, plenty of AV connections.
Weakness:
One small gripe is the stand. The hole in it for cables is too high up and makes for a lot of stretched cables. OH BOY! This is a fabulous unit. The Real Flat screen really is just that, and the quality of the picture is outstanding. My main requirement when aquiring a new TV was that it be 100Hz with some sort of motion compensation, audio outs to link to my Dolby Decoder and that it have at least two scarts capable of RGB input. This TV has more than that of course, but those were the main 3. The 100Hz performance is outstanding, especially with Natural Motion enabled. DVD action movies are transformed into a truly theatre-like experience. The audio outs are capable of providing a flat output to the Dolby decoder bypassing the TV''s tone and balance settings. A definite bonus when compared to my previous unit (an older Hitachi 32-inch ''curved-screen'' unit). Finally, there are four AV inputs available. Two full RGB scarts (for my satellite decoders), one CVBS scart (for the VCR) and a set of front RCA connections (for the camera.) Of all the models I was able to examine, this is the only one which had all of the features I needed and had such near-perfect picture quality. Bloody marvellous! Strength:
Video Quality, natural motion...
Weakness:
none For my personal opinion one of the best tv. The picture quality is astounding, the natural motion is impressive on images, better than cinema! The options of video are many and many, but it's not so confortable to have to push the button under the cover on "remote controller" to chenge the video size.
