Strength:

Superb clarity and detail. Excellent colour fidelity. Plenty of picture and sound options.

Weakness:

I wish I could think of one.

This Tv has a superb Picture. I have the KV24FV10 model also and the larger 32" screen loses no detail at all. I have the newer KV32FS12 version of this model and I am so impressed with it's colour and clarity.I feel it is worth the extra few dollars to invest in this TV as one will be looking at it's remarkable picture for years to come.

Strength:

Stunning picture. Great sound. Nice styling. Lots of inputs including composite.

Weakness:

Mind your back muscles!

I bought the latest KV32FS12 model here in Montreal. I love this TV,what a picture! It is so clear and sharp. The colour is wonderful and deep. I love all the picture adjustments available in the menu. Ths sound is really good especially in the surround mode. Picures with a DVD player are a joy to watch! All the lines on graphics are dead straight...no bending on this model. Congatulations Sony.

Strength:

Incredibly clear,Great Sound,Lots of inputs,Nice Styling.

Weakness:

There isn,t one here.

This is some TV! What a fantastic Picture.I heard all the hype of the Wega and was a little skeptical until I plugged it in! Then I realized what everyone was talking about. It is so clear and the colours are great. There are so many inputs and options for the picture. You can change the colour temprature from Cool,Normal,And NTSC all in a couple of seconds as well as pre-set Picture modes. I love the Vivid setting myself. The sound is great also with a cool surround mode. I love the looks of this TV on the Sony Stand which has lots of room inside. It was more expensive than other 32" models but I am glad I saved up the extra.I can honestly say that his is the best TV in this price group, and you will love it when you see it running in your living room!

Strength:

Stunning Picture. Loaded with features.

Weakness:

Don't lift it alone.....it ways more than my Mother-in-Law's make up bag!

I have purchased the later Sony Kv32FS12 model. I was so surprised when I hooked this TV up in my home. It was way better than in the Store. They had the Picture settings muted so the more expensive model looked better. I am pleased to say what a gorgeous picture this TV has. It has 4 inputs.4 Preference settings for the picture, and 3 colour tempratures.Colour is great with fleshtones that are spot on out of the box. I like the styling and the Remote. The menu is one of the best I have ever seen. The flat tube looks almost black when turned off,and never washes out in the brightest room. As you can tell I love this TV and only the XBR model looks better at a considerable increase in price. A wonderful piece of electronics.

Strength:

Glorious picture
16:9 compression that improves DVD picture drastically
Full viewing angle without compromising picture quality
Lots of video inputs
It looks good

Weakness:

16:9 compression must be set every time video input changes
So heavy that you MUST buy special stand
Stand is expensive as hell
Takes a while to change a channel by typing its number

My model is FS12.

I bought this TV on impulse - I don't watch TV or DVDs that much (sometimes I don't turn it on for weeks), and I was wondering if I made a mistake spending so much money on it. But as time passed, I started to like this TV more and more. Heck, now I turn on the morning news while eating breakfast!

One thing you must do: get a special DVD to set up your picture properly. This makes a huge difference. "DVD Essentials" is unfortunately quite expensive, luckily I have a friend who is DVD enthusiast. Even regular TV channels look so much better after this adjustment. However, you will have to have all your lights turned off for optimal quality. Everyday viewing usually precludes this so you may find picture very dark. I solved this by increasing brightness and programming that into "standard" setting and leaving optimal picture on "movie".

If you use component input from DVD player and you're viewing the anamorphic widescreen version (16:9), do go to TV's setup and enable 16:9 picture compression. With it, picture quality is greatly improved, with scan lines basically disappearing and making the picture sharper and more uniform. This is also the biggest problem with the TV because it is unable to remember this setting - every time you change video input it will reset to normal which can be very annoying. Same with speaker enable/disable, although if I had a proper audio setup (I don't have a receiver) this wouldn't be a problem at all.

Otherwise, when properly set, picture has perfect geometry, reveals all detail and colors are excellent and uniform. I had no need for TVs before since I had TV tuner cards for my PC, and a good monitor puts almost all TVs to shame. I did look at TVs like RCA in stores and they don't even compare - curved screens and terribly pixelated picture. But WEGA is another class. Unfortunately, its price more than reflects this. When you add stand, tax and possibly additional warranty, I'd have to say that it is a little overpriced.

With HDTV content very rare and with certainity that the prices will come down (and quality go up) if it becomes more popular, an entry-level WEGA might be a good choice.

Remote is quite usable, although its attempt to be universal is not successful. It can operate my Pioneer DVD player partially, but for example menu functions don't work, so it's not a substitute. Also, component input is the last of 4 inputs so it takes 4 keypresses to switch TV for DVD viewing - that's annoying.

32" makes TV picture plenty big for my small apartment, but even then widescreen DVD movies look small. Sometimes I prefer 4:3 version of a movie even though you can't use compression in that case.

Do make sure you get it delivered unless you're body builder or something. The thing is about 80 kg (170-something pounds). For example, not a single stand in IKEA catalogue can handle it. Luckily, it rotates easily on its original stand. But the Sony stand costs $300 Canadian!!

All in all, this is a perfect TV for someone that wants a great system but doesn't want to pay the premium that HDTV (which truth to be told looks like a photograph on a computer monitor and is a whole new class) currently carries, and doesn't need 50" screen.

Strength:

WOW for the picture. Lots of bells and whistles.

Weakness:

None

Fantastic picture was what I thought when I saw this in the store. I thought it was a good deal considering you have to pay more for the panasonic Gaoo version which looks similair. I preferred the colour on the Sony...skin looks like skin all the time.A DVD disc looks like a photo. the fit and finish is good also. I liked the Remote too. Well done Sony!
