Strength:
Picture Quality ! almost no reflections on the screen, 4 inputs, very low distortion of lines or colors (non existent compared to conventional tubes)
Weakness:
Why only one Super VHS input ?? with DSS, S-VHS laser disc and webtv, I could use it on all the inputs. You can use internal speakers OR external line out, but not both. I have the newer KV-32FS12 moodel. This thing has a great picture, and very little if any pincussion/barrel distortion in straight lines. I have seen none of the color bleed on current madels that earlier versions had. I use webTV, so vidio distortion is a big deal and easy to see (and I am EXTREMELY happy with this TV !). Strength:
Picture clarity, Composite video inputs, flat glare free screen
Weakness:
Yet to be discovered!! After biting the bullet and spending the money on what I initially thought was nothing more than a glorified flat screen television, I couldn't be more satisfied with this set and wouldn't trade it for anything! My initial discovery was it's incredible weight, at 176 Lbs it's a monster to move. Some people see this as a weakness, to me it's just another testament to it's outstanding quality. I have this set coupled with the matching Stand which is an engineering marvel in itself. The engineers actually provide a safety strap at the rear of the set so it can be tethered to the stand for safety purposes and keep it from tipping (very unlikely at this weight!) Strength:
Picture, color controls, inputs, 4 picture modes, 2 s-videos
Weakness:
Weight ( need to buy stand ) I paid 1700$ total for this tv with stand and warranty, and it was worth every penny. DVD's look amazing; more like a window less like a TV. The Air Force One DVD looks just amazing; the explosions are sharp and bright, views of the jets in the blue/dark sky look unreal and breathtaking. Similar Products Used: Zeinith 25' el cheapo |

Price :^( The has to be the best TV I have EVER owned! The color on this TV is outstanding. And after a little tug of war with Video Essentials, the pluge is set perfect. Similar Products Used: Sony 27" TV |

Strength:
Exceptional picture quality, color depth, minimal glare, neat design, excellent overall functionality in ANY home theater

Someone PLEASE tell me some First of all let me say this T.V. is awesome. I first viewed it oversea's while stationed in Curacao. Of course the model I viewed was and oversea's exclusive model, 38". WOW. But don't trade your 32" and 36" just yet. They only make that in an overseas version. :( At least that's what the lady told me. To keep it short, picture quality is hands down the best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. If your like me, just a regular Joe Schmo, it's just as good as some of those HDTV's. Now that statement only holds true if your like me, not an audiophile, just a casual listner that doesn't demand all the play pretties. If you like a great picture at a fraction of the cost, grab this t.v. You WILL NOT be disappointed. And just to touch on Rob's question below...16:9 is the anamorphic screen format. When you watch a widescreen movie on an older T.V., it only plays the picture in a 4:3 ratio. Hence, the letterbox, the black bars at the top and bottom of your screen. What their talking about is the ability of the T.V. to take a widescreen format and play it at 16:9 which does away with the black box look. Your t.v. will be able to play any format utilizing the entire screen. Does this VEGA have that, NO. These are analog t.v. sets, not digital, like HDTV's. Eventually they may release a box that attaches to your analog set giving you that 16:9 functionality. But as for now, if you want 16:9 you need to buy an HDTV, or a DVD written in 4:3 and 16:9. And as far as the video essentials is concerned, I have NO IDEA what their talking about. If anyone knows please pass it on, I LOVE playing with this t.v. By the way I rated value as a 4 because the t.v. was expensive. I understand that Sony ahd to re-invent the wheel when they made this t.v., but come on people, 1321.00 is a LOT of money. And for the overall rating, the mere idea of a "true" flatscreen analog t.v. deserves a 5. You know the good folks over at Sony could've said screw the analog flatscreen, go digital like everyone else. But luckily for us, the opted to take the alternative and give us the best of both worlds. My hats off to the folks over at Sony. Similar Products Used: Toshiba 32" |

Strength:
Great picture and everything else.
Weakness:
No PIP After doing some considerable research in the 32" TV market, I decided to go with this model. The trouble was I having trouble finding one under the MSRP of $1299. I came across this one at a fairly new Best Buy in my area and was told that they have been discontinued by Sony to make room for the 2000 series. So I bought the floor model for a steal at $799 plus $119 for four years of in home part and labor. I just love this TV, the picture quality is very sharp when using DVD and VHS(kid's tapes, although it's a little grainy with my conventional cable TV. I highly reccommend that you keep your eyes open for some bargains as these sets maybe going away. |

Strength:
Great picture. Very adjustable picture. Plenty of I/O. Good set-up screens.
Weakness:
poor sound - although it is not used with my system Went to buy another Toshiba and was blown away by the WEGA! It wasn't even close - all other sets look as if they were 10 year old technology. Kind of like early computer monitors compared to a new Mitsubishi or Sony. Toshiba's and regular Sony's were not sharp and they had noticable color bleeding. Of course the WEGA was $250 to $350 more than the regular Sony's and Toshiba's. Similar Products Used: Toshiba and Fisher |

Strength:
Oustanding Picture. When playing DVD's using Component Video, you would think it's a Digital TV. Power Conditioner Cleans up my cable tv, and that helps a lot because this TV is so Clear that it is unforgiving of bad signals. My Speakers are the same way. So that is a good thing.
Weakness:
No Anamorphic Widescreen Compression. Meaning, it doesn't take widescreen movies and get rid of the black bars for you. As everyone is aware, price is pretty steep. But understandable if you look at what R&D costs were on this piece. Also, it looks like a digital TV almost. And it doesn't cost NEARLY as much as any one of those sets. Overall, this is an excellent piece. As mentioned above, it is the most affordable TV this side of HDTV. Similar Products Used: 25 Inch RCA Stereo Monitor (12 Years old) |

Strength:
great tv when working
Weakness:
getting good service, then dealing with their customer service dept. tv was great till smoke filled the house and picture went out.A part in the deflection board went bad. Any how to make a long story short 5 parts and 5 weeks later no tv. Dealing with the customer service dept. has been a nitemare, with no resolution in sight. They got my money, and quite frankly could care less when it gets fixed! Needless to say I wont be buying anything sony again. Good products lousy customer service. 5stars for the tv and 1star overall for the lousy customer service. Similar Products Used: none |
