Lexington, Ken. – Thiel is expanding the use of Power Driver technology to bring its time- and phase-coherent designs to smaller, less-expensive in-room speakers.
The two-way $3,690/ pair SCS4T floorstanding speaker will join a bookshelf $2,380/pair speaker at the CEDIA Expo to expand Thiel’s JET series.
The technology already appears in custom speakers and one bookshelf speaker.
The new two-way $3,690/ pair SCS4T floorstanding speaker joins the bookshelf $2,380/pair SCS4 to expand the JET series of lower priced, more compact in-room speakers. The JET series uses short-coil/long-gap coaxially mounted tweeters and woofers to deliver time- and phase-coherence among the speakers’ drivers. Thiel’s more expensive in-room speakers use baffles that slope backward to achieve time alignment and phase coherence, a spokesman said. A JET series subwoofer is also in development, he noted.
