Yes it is a great amp. But why does everyone compare with the Krell KAV-300i.Have anyone of you tried YBA Interge DT. I think it sound more musical than the B-60 and the Krell.

Ok, First of all I am not biased on this product because of a recent purchase, nor am I trying to sell it.I do not own this product. Yet. After listening to the Bryston B-60 for an evening when on loan, I noticed something special immediately. I see a couple reviews on this topic that give the product 2 or 1 star. The fact is they aren't qualified to be judging equipment because of their own bias. There is no way this product deserves one or two stars by any measurement. I have auditioned many separates and integrateds and I can say without reservation that nothing in its price class or below is in the Brystons league. Arcam, Audiolab, great products at their price, not even near the level of this product. As for the Krell KAV 300, that is a good integrated without a doubt with some virtues better than the Bryston by a slim margin. I would expect at least as much performance from a product costing 550 more dollars. As a consumer, the Bryston is the better investment. Listen to them both and tell me their is enough musical satification in the Krell to warrant the difference. Pride of ownership is another thing however. Who wants to have a less than 2" high amp/pre combo to show the buddies, when you can say..I own a "Krell" I tell you what, I do.
The enginering, parts, build, sound quality and warranty really finally show a commitment to a great product.
Listening to the B-60 is such a pleasing experience. The detail and air in the highs, the how does it do it amount of bass energy and the ultra defined mids. I truly have been more impressed by this product than any I have heard. 60wpc goes a long way with this unit. I have found it to sound more effortless than my Aragon 8002 at medium high levels.I am totally impressed with the enginerring and the commitment to the standard that it is built. Now Im gonna go get one.

The BP60 is not musical. The sound is cold and sterile. It is no match for either the Krell or Classe Integrateds. Considering the price and the meager 60 watts this amp deserves no more than 1 star.

I've had the Bryston B-60 in my home now for about 1 month and what can I say..It's simply fantastic... I've owned an Arcam Alpha 8 then an Alpha 9 and when
I brought home the Bryston I definitely noticed there was something special
about this integrated... no comparison whatsoever to the Alpha 9.. or the
Audiolab 8000S which I also listened to in my home... The soundstage and
smoothness of the Bryston is unbelievable.. just close your eyes and listen
to the music! Power is very good.. I'm driving Totem Staff speakers - another
superb value... and my source is an Arcam Alpha 8 CD Player. The sound is
warm and this amp really makes almost any source sound good (almost..). The Arcam Amplifiers were not that tolerant of source but with the Bryston I'm hearing new details in the same song which I listen to every day!! BASS response is very good in my listening room and the amplifier doesn't make
you tired either... It did make me tired with the NHT Superones however... the
NHT have a bright tweeter which wasn't apparent with the Arcam amplifiers.. that's because the ARCAM's have rolled off highs. I swear on some of my
CD's I can hear the singers breath off the microphone... never heard that
with the ARCAM's or Audiolab. For anybody who wants a clean ACCURATE, warm
sound which is UNCOLORED.. then definitely listen to this amp... it will
blow your mind away - especially for the price! I'm thinking of bi-amping
with Bryston's 2B amplifier in the near future.. more on that later.
Highly recommended.. especially with the 20 YEAR (THAT'S RIGHT TWENTY...)
owner transferable warranty!

This is a fantastic product. But I was surprised to learn that one person actually thought that this was a worthy upgrade to Krell 300i. The baby Krell offers more transparency, power, and imaging than Bryston B60. Not to mention Krell's immediate presentation of music which would impress more listeners. In fact, on head to head competition, I would imagine that more people would choose Krell 300i. But l too became convinced that Bryston B60 is a better product. I found that its laid back and refined sound just let me enjoy the music more. Besides, by purchasing B60, I was able to purchase The Parts Connection DAC2($700 with parts upgrade and fully assembled). My only complaint about B60 is that Bryston does not make a matching three channel amp. I would love to build a home theater around this product. By the way, I have Vandersteen 1C as speakers. A much better match for this amp would be any one of smaller Magnepans.

Strength:

Neutral, compact, quiet

Weakness:

Gets hot if not given breathing space

Well, I'm finally posting a review after owning this amp for over 2 years. I have put off doing a review I think because I find it hard to talk about this amp in terms of what it does. It's more what this amp doesn't do that makes it special. It doesn't color the sound in any obvious ways. What goes into the amp is pretty much what comes out. This, to me, is the highest praise for any piece of equipment. Keep it in mind when auditioning this piece that you're probably hearing the characteristics of the other components in the signal chain much more than the amp itself. The very distinct differences you'll hear when changing cables or other components in the chain should attest to the amp's overall neutral character and ability to "get out of the way".

What else can I say? Give the amp a good power cord and power source (even though Bryston claims it to be unnecessary) and don't let the compact design fool you... the amp needs breathing room on the sides for air-flow through the vents and space on top because there are internal heat-sinks coupled to the chassis.

While this amp isn't cheap, it still gets five stars for value because of its build-quality, 20-year transferable warranty, and its ability to rival separates costing much much more.

Strength:

nice luscious sound

Weakness:

makes me realize that I've now been bit by the audio bug.

Wow...I used to think I had something special with my NAD 7225PE but after I invested in a good pair of speakers & a sub, I knew I was going to have to upgrade the amp soon. I'm on a budget but want the best 2 channel sound possible so rather than get a cheap surround system I decided to go for the best bang for the buck I could find used. This to me is a no Brainer. Sounds better than the Denon 5800 I heard a pair of CDM7nt's at the local store cost a third as much and has 6x the warranty (18 years left)

Anyhow, To sum it up, you better have a pretty damn good reason not to buy this amp...and it better not be because they guy at Circuit City gave you a deal you couldnt refuse.

My Stuff: Bryston B-60
Panasonic A110 DVD/CD (next thing to go now)
B&W CDM1nt
Velodyne CT-100 sub (gonna trade up for a REL)
Misc Interconnects (mid grade monster & AQ)

Strength:

Quality build

I agree stongly with all the favourable reviews. This amp is very pleasing for long periods of listening--no harseness at all. This unit is very solidly built! There is no substitute for the materials used; the weight built into the knobs and switches gives a feeling (and sound!) of precision that is unmatched in this price range. Other plastic-containing components feel like cheap toys in comparison.

Strength:

everything sounds excellent to me!!!!

Weakness:

none noticable

I find this integrated amp to be excellent. I just wanted to add that the guys which rated this amp with 1 and 2 stars must have tin ears or did not give it a long enough burn-in before getting so critically careless to leave a false review. How can over 70 people rate it an average of over 4.5 and 3 guys that took a demo unit home and have it for 3-5 days really know this product. Folks remember that a demo unit has probably only been used for at the most 20 hours on the sales floor and any really good hi-end product takes several hundred hours to burn-in and sound the way its meant to. I'm finding that Sam Tellig's review of this amp from Stereophile regarding the burn-in time is accurate when he said"this amp seems to take several months to fully burn-in". My amp sounds better than ever and has over 250 hours of burn-in. My B60 did not sound good at all out of the box and at around 75 hours it started to open up alot. So the reviewers with 1 and 2 stars are totally false and inaccurate regarding the sound. This is an excellent hi-end piece and deserves 5 stars!!!!!

Strength:

Warm, precise detail, wonderful mids, and surprising bass.

Weakness:

May occassionally want extra amplification depending on speaker choice.

I've had this unit for over 2 years now and I still enjoy it as much, if not appreciate it more, than I did when I first got it. Yes, there have been a few occasions when I wish I had a bit extra to pull from, but for my set-up and the speakers I use, I'm extremely satisfied with the performance of this integrated. It's simple, phenomenal detail and has a warmth that makes it pleasing to listen to for long periods of time.

Other than be sure to match your speakers carefully and ensure that you're using quality cabling, this is a piece of stereo equipment that you'll probably never want to let go of. If you ever are at a point where you need more juice, the B60's got a phenomental pre-amp or you can use it as part of a surround system for the rear speakers. Considering the unit's maintenance free and warranted for 20 years, for me personally, it'll be in my family for years to come. I hope to be able to one day give it my future son as part of his graduation present.
