I read it and found some flaws in it. It doesn't sound like they were too concerned with the accuracy of the electronics or speakers they were using. For all I know they could be using old radio shack gear. And if you don't think speakers and electronics can sound different then you really have some hearing issues. Also, they were comparing zip cord to Monster cable. Come on! Monster cable IS zip cord!!! I don't use it or recommend it. And though I haven't devoted my life to experimenting with cables I have with very little effort proven to dozens of people that differences exist. You can tell me I'm wrong all you want but keep in mind that your hearing and my hearing probably aren't the same. Perhaps one of us stood too close to concert monitors or shot too many guns without hearing protection. Or perhaps you haven't heard music come from anything but what Best Buy sells. |

Erm, conducts! Oh, and I suppose it looks real great therefore, it must sound superb - the clarity and dynamics outstanding, the soundstage smacking my face into millions of pieces!!

Why buy this c***? Rob, seeing as your so adamant in your opinions I suggest you get your facts straight and check out this site before preaching your hypocritical opinions of which side of the argument the flat earth people are on! - Similar Products Used: Yeh right, I spend my whole life 'auditioning' (SNIGGERS!)speaker cables and interconnects |

doesn't impress pseudo audio experts These cables are just as good as the pricier Monster Cables. You would have to spend considerably more to have a significant improvement in performance. If you're building a system on a budget, these will work just fine. If you have money to burn, you most likely wouldn't consider $10 cables in the first place. Easy fit. Directionally balanced. The price.
Weakness:
I wish there were some s-video and optical models made. I've been using these things for a while. They are great and well made. The signals they pass are excellent. It's clean and expanded. I even bought a few of the remaining ones just to have around. I like the fact that they are directional cables. I believe they are the best kept secret. There are some new, orange-colored cables the Shack has out, now. There is no comparison. These are not made anymore, so, too bad for anyone out there who didn't purchase them a couple of years ago. Good stuff. Similar Products Used: Monster stuff. |

no color options I originally bought $200 worth of Monster to hook up my new Kenwood HTB504 htib system. Then, I thought, wonder if RS has any cables cheap? Sure enough. Had every cable I needed at less than half the cost. S Video, Digital Audio, heavy speaker wire. Similar Products Used: Monster |

For the price, this cable couldn't be beat. Solid interconnect, directional and good insulation.
Weakness:
Besides pissing off audiophiles because of the cheap price...Radio Shack dicontinued selling them a couple years ago. My freind at the shack told me about these cables just before they discontinued them. He and I grabbed up all the inventory we could in the Central Florida area. Even at their retail price of $19.99 they were a great buy, but just before they discontinued the line, they lowered the price to only $4.99. The only thing I didn't like about them was that they only came in 3 meter sizes. While they might not be of the same quality of the high-end cable manufacturers, they are very competent cables...and at the price, they were unbeatable. I too, used Monsters MK cables, but the price for a 3 meter pair was something like $60.00. While I can't say that the RS cables outperform any of the esotheric brands, I can say that the RS cables either sounded the same or better than the Monsters I had. And for $4.99, it was a no brainer. What I can't understand are some of the posters here who have the desire to belittle those of us who were lucky enough to pay less than $10.00 for cable that we obviously like. I guess these so-called audiophiles have to redicule others so they can continue to justify the hundreds of dollars they've spent on the esotheric brands. In my case, I was able to save hundreds of dollars and put that savings into other areas of my system that have a much more direct influence on the sound quality...other than cables...IMHO. sound At first I was impressed with these cables. They are an improvemend over the oem cables that came with the components. They are also better than the botton line Monster cables. But if you step up to the Moster 400mkII level you will notice a significant improvemnt in all areas. From highs to bass the improvemnt is obvious.Of course these cost twice the price so you get what you pay for.... For the price they are a good buy. Great buy for the price

none Well like many people I had fallen victim to paying way too much for the name on my cables. Until one day I was searching for a 5pin male din two female stereo RCA adapter to integrate my Nakamichi headunit with my Precision Power Cross Over and Amps Din wiring. Well long story short the only place that could even order it was Radio Shack so I did. Anyways I herd no differences and later got other RS cables fro my car and home still the only difference about $50 bucks. Now I know most of the people on hear are into home audio and not mobile but, anybody can tell that a car about the worst environment for audio cables you can find, sun light heat electrical interference. The moral of the story more moneys not always beter. PS Isn’t this site suppose to be about audio reviews and not ripping on others opinions, just because some one can’t spend a small fortune on cables or doesn’t have more gold in their stereo wiring then MR. T has around his Neck doesn’t mean they don’t know anything. Well that’s my opinion if you do link it go sit in your studio, theater listening room, or what ever you want to call it turn on your $20,000 dollar stereo and have a beer Similar Products Used: Lightning audio, Rockford, Monster cable |

None that I can see Rob, I'm sure when conducting the tests found in the article, it wouldn't matter is the were using the lowest end Radio Shack equipment or some absolute top of the line $100,000 amp. 3 things defeat your argument: Similar Products Used: Lower end Shack cables |

These cables look like monster interlink 400 2 cables but for half the price for a 6' pair. It is shielded, bandwidth balanced and has a gold turbine like collar. The manager said they are made by monster but I don't know if he was just trying to impress me. They look and sound great. It is more expensive then their basic gold cables but I think its worth it. The gold collars provide a snug fit. The basic gold collars were difficult to remove and were too tight. Overall, it is a good cable at half the cost of monster. |
